During my participation for the Eat’s A Date event of Openrice.com last November November 10 at Ortigas branch I or we have experience a real “serbisyong totoo” by the

staffs and owner of Manang’s Chicken.
The moment that we sit down one of the staffs in Red shirt approach us and ask what drink we would like to order. They also gave us a welcome kit of Manang’s Chicken. After serving the drinks they already served the different foods, the servers are very attentive on the needs of the customers. I also observed how they treat other customers aside from us (openricers/bloggers) and they are doing the same thing. The staffs greet each customer in a lively manner; they always ask for the needs and assist the customers of anything they asked for.
When we are finished the staffs automatically gets the plate on our table for us to have enough space. When we are about to go we decided to have a picture with the staffs, and we learned that staffs in yellow are the crews while those who wear red are the supervisors. The owner herself is the one who interviews and hire her store supervisors and for the crew members, the store supervisors are the one who are responsible for hiring.

It has been a long day for me attending series of meetings in Makati and I almost forgot that I have a dinner date with my co - openricers tonight at Manang's Chicken in Ortigas. But I came to Ortigas on time and headed to the venue immediately.

When I get there, the openrice representatives were already there and I think some of the bloggers/openricers. We were welcomed by the openrice rep and given a manang's chicken kit. Inside is a pouch, info about the restaurant and the menu.

They served us with their original sauce chicken and a mild spicy sauce chicken wings with rice. I am very amused when I started eating the chicken, the sauce is very authentic, I love the mixture of sweetness, saltiness and the sesame seeds makes their chicken different from other chicken I have tasted. The mild spicy chicken is really spicy, but the spiciness wont last at your tongue for long, you can still taste the other flavors of chicken.

We also ate the potato chips, this is really different from other food chains because Manang's Potato chips is made of fresh potatoes deep fried to have a very crispy chips. It comes with two dips, mayo garlic and cheesy dip. Between the two I love the mayo garlic more.

We got ice tea for our drinks, and we also have fried pancit. It is again different to others because the pancit itself is crunchy but if you will add the sauce it will soften. The taste is OK, its just that I am not a fan of a different type of pancit.

They also gave us the spicy chicken sandwich. It has coleslaw which minimized the spiciness of the chicken. I wasn't able to finish my sandwich because I am very full already. I just take it home.

The experience is really great. we had a great time dining in at MANANG'S CHICKEN!!!

I am part of the lucky openricers who were invited to attend the 6th Eat's A Date event at Peri Peri Grill House in Greenhills San Juan. I got to meet other openricers and bloggers, I also meet the openrice representatives.

During the event we were offered a full package dinner. They served us a cheesy quesadilla and shrimp salad for our appetizer. I love the salad since I am starting to choose to live and eat healthy foods now. I don't know what is the sauce of the salad but it makes the salad so sumptuous. Cheesy Quesadilla didn't caught my interest much because I didn't notice the cheese flavor.

After the appetizer, we had pasta such as seafood marinara and creamy dill pasta. I love seafood marinara more, I am not a fan of white sauce. The side dishes was also served I only tasted a few such as baked mashed potato which tastes really different from the usual mashed potato that I have tasted and buttered corn and carrots. For the main entree we had Peri Peri House chicken... this is really yummy I can say that it is a bit salty in some parts but very juicy. The slow cooking through charcoal heat makes the chicken really tasty. I thought we are already done but after a while they served the desserts, tiramisu cake and new york cheesecake. I am actually having a diet so I just tasted it but I wasn't able to finish it. I can say that the blue berry is not a good combination to tiramisu and for the cheesecake yes this is really awesome... not too sweet "sakto lang".

I read in the facebook fan page of Openrice.com that they will be having the 6th Eat's A Date event that will be held at Peri Peri Grill House in Greenhills. I have read a lot of write ups on this event and it really excite me so I decided to volunteer myself and asked the organizers if I can join.

Luckily, I am chosen. So last October 24, 2011 I attended the Eat's A Date. At first I am hesitant since I didn't know the people there. But the openrice representatives are friendly and it make me feel at ease to everyone. That's the time that I also started observing the venue. It is like an African themed restaurant looking at the wall decors, but I saw in one wall that Peri Peri is a Portuguese style. Well whatever it is, I think the place is really cool despite of the small place.

Its good to have a family or friendly dinner here because aside from the good ambiance they also have great food here.

This is Ham and Cheese croissant version of Dunkin Donuts. Before you can only eat donuts in this cafe but now they do have special breads. This is croissant is filled with ham, cheese, egg and lettuce plus mayonnaise. The bread is very fresh and tasty. I love the combination of the fillings and it is very delicious. I also love the presentation of Dunkin Donut of this food.
