My first Eat's a Date event for OpenRice and I could not be more happier that night! I loved the place, Moshi Moshi, as a whole. And of course, meeting other people whom I share a common interest: Love for good food.

THE AMBIANCE
Since there was an event, the place was packed yet it can still hold a few more tables for some walk-in customers. Meaning, they have a fairly large-sized place where everyone can fit in and be comfortable while chowing down all the food that they ordered.

The green motif is cool to look at , not overpoweringly bright. Comfy tables and chairs settled at every nook so when you're with friends or family, you have the option where to sit and enjoy casual conversations.

Located at the 2/f of Regis Center in Katipunan Avenue, in front of Ateneo and near Miriam College. It is centrally located in terms of proximity from these places. Perched up at the 2/F means a bit more privacy compared to those located in the lower ground. You can surely get your peace and quiet here.

THE FOOD
It's great! Have many options to choose from. (Please see separate post on every food that was served)

We got to try their Kin Bento =)

THE SERVICE
The host was confident and jolly and I applaud him for that. But for the attendants, I think they got a bit overwhelmed with our huge group so they were a bit flustered. At times, we requested for water and it took some time for the glass of water to be served. But that's forgiveable. Just a heads up!

OVERALL TAKE:
I enjoyed it! Definitely going back for their other dishes. And maybe, to try their new Create-Your-Own-Bento for P155. That's a must!

Moshi Moshi! Japanese food anyone? Then you have come to the right place!

Serving modern Japanese fast food at the heart of Katipunan Ave. is Moshi Moshi. A perfect place where friends and families can dine in and enjoy the ambiance, and most importantly, the food.

Let me share what we got for dinner:
Cold Milk Tea

Cold Milk Tea

While waiting for our order, the Milk Tea was served fast. The taste? I like it! I like how the level of sweetness is just right and how refreshing it is.Makes me want to have one right now.
Chicken Teriyaki Bento

Chicken Teriyaki Bento

Served first was the Teriyaki Bento. By the way, Moshi Moshi will introduce its Create-Your-Own-Bento this April. That means freedom in choosing only what you like best and that is for only P155. Going back to our food, I appreciate that there are so many choices to pick from..we got freshly fried Onion Rings, Pork Balls (yum!) and a salad, and of course, the Chicken Teriyaki with rice. Talk about a complete meal!
8-pc Takoyaki

8-pc Takoyaki

Their 6-pc Takoyaki is a steal at P55 only. Not too abundant in the squid serving but still good. Good thing the sauce makes up for it.
Miso Soup

Miso Soup

Their miso soup was done the way I like it. The flavor is not bland yet not over the top. Served deliciously hot!
California Maki! Yum!

California Maki! Yum!

A bit bigger than most than I've tried but the taste is wonderfully the same. That dot of jap mayo in the middle gives it an extra kick to tease your palate.
Gyoza, anyone?

Gyoza, anyone?

A must try as well.
Daily dose of veggies from their Kani Salad

Daily dose of veggies from their Kani Salad

I love Kani Salad and I try to order that whenever I'm in a Jap resto or fast food, I super love it. I love how Moshi Moshi's serving would feed a big group but I got a bit overwhelmed by the cabbage. A bit too much. Cucumber and some lettuce, more kani and some more jap mayo would have done more to improve it. But again, I like their serving size.
is it worth the long wait? Yes.

Not really a fan of strawberry ice cream ever since growing up but I like this version. I found it milky and creamy, which is what I always like, that's why I liked this.

Trying to find an alternative for Japanese fast food aside from the long-time contenders in this category? Try Moshi Moshi. It's like a breath of fresh air. =)

I'm kind of embarassed but I'll say this anyway... It's my 1st time at Conti's! Hehe. lol

I have been planning to go for the longest time but it never materialized..till now. And the branch of choice was Greenbelt 2.

We just walked from our office which is in Buendia corner Paseo in Makati to Greenbelt 2 so just imagine how tired we all were..and hungry! Good thing we were a bit early so we came ahead of the usual Friday crowd and got a table at the second floor and we're set to order but it took us, maybe, 5 minutes to finalize our choices.

Here they are:
Buffalo Wings P180

Buffalo Wings P180

Here is our appetizer..Buffalo Wings! More on the sweet side which I like best. The chicken meat was tender and the sauce poured on it was just the exact amount so it was perfect! smile
Chicken Ballotine P225

Chicken Ballotine P225

My choice. I wanted to veer away on beef or pork so I opted for chicken. It was like embotido topped with a generous amount of sauce so you can never say that it's lacking in taste. That's how I want to describe it. I said to myself that I would not finish all my rice serving but If I remember correctly, I did finish it all. Tsk tsk. tongue
Beef Tapa P160

Beef Tapa P160

My officemate was craving for tapa so here it is. Just the day before we ate here, she already ordered Tapa King but she was really looking for its taste so it followed us here at Conti's. She was not able to eat all of it so I had several pieces of her tapa and I find it very tender and tasty. With drops of vinegar on it, it was fantastic! smile
Seafood Au Gratin P240

Seafood Au Gratin P240

Another officemate's choice because she wanted seafood and something that would have cheese on it. Her first two choices were not available (bummer!) so she quickly delved into the menu and looked for her third choice and finally got one. It was delicious too but the seafood parts were a little bit lacking. By the way, I ate all of her Russian salad because she found it a little bit on the bland side but I didn't so I benefited from that. tongue

Of course, I could not go out of this place without ordering their famed Mango Bravo. Oh my, I loved it! I fell in love with it on my first forkful of this. Yum! smile

a sure thumbs up!

a sure thumbs up!

For my first time, it was great. It lived up to my expectations and that made me very happy that night. I am craving for their Mango Bravo right now but next time, I'll try to order a different dessert for the sake of experimenting. But maybe, I can order 2 cake slices, why not, right? Hmmm.. Gluttony! Haha! Let's see. tongue

spending some bucks at Starbucks Smile Mar 31, 2011

Bonding time with friends usually means dining out or have coffee time with them. And that's exactly what we did. Coffee it is.

And where did we go, to Starbucks that is. And Starbucks was surely fully booked on this night. We waited for some group to leave their table so we could step in but we had to wait. People were taking their sweet time and when we get to sit, that is what we are planning to do as well.

So while waiting for a table, 2 friends went in line to rally up our orders. And thank goodness, when they came out with our coffee and dessert, a table miraculously was vacated. And we sat in with a sigh of relief. tongue

I love moments like these. Just enjoying my frap while getting a half spoonful of the Banoffee pie. An absolute fave. We had 3 orders for this night! No other order except for this pie. That's how good it is. Everytime I go to Starbucks, i take a peek at their refrigerated cake rack and look for the banoffee but sadly, its not always available. So when it is available, I do order. smile

Just thinking of the pie right now, makes me crave for it and want to go ut and search for one. Gotta hang on to my socks before I do that. It's already 11:30pm. tongue

i guess.. never again :( Cry Mar 31, 2011

My friends and I had a long day of walking along the busy streets of Manila City so when it was near to ending the day, we had a heavy dinner. All of us were super famished and were satisfied with our dinner at Gerry's, I think, or Dencio's.

So after that is finished, we were still craving for something sweet, and we landed at Crepes and Creme. I usually order their savory crepes here but since, I am full already, I looked for something sweet. My choices were sweet crepes or blended drinks. In the end, blended drinks won.

I ordered their Mocha Loca for P135. Their attendant was showing impatience and has a frown on her face but I let that slide, blame it on, maybe, the time. It was past 8pm already. She was tired and so were we. So when my order came, I immediately took a sip and also immediately felt an instant dislike to what I am tasting.

It's bland! So I blanched in dismay. It just looks okay in the picture but the real thing is far from that. What a disappointment! To think that I let go of a big sum just for that. Well, I am definitely not coming back next time for their blended drinks. But, I am still coming back for their crepes.
