Five friends decided it would be nice to have their collective efforts in satisfying their other friend’s palate into a business. Passionate about food, Clique officially opened on the first day of 2016.
This delightful hole in the wall is within the compound of a Car wash right behind a prominent bank. Their earlier clients were bank personnel and car wash customers who would stop by for a quick fix to tide their hunger over.
But people started pouring in, recognizing the delicious dishes served and the amazingly affordable price!
Guaranteed fresh each and every time! Their herb garden is picked fresh as you order
Our Food Adventure at Clique started with their house specialty – the Roasted Chicken. It is nothing close to any famous roasted chicken joint; it has a distinct lovely herby flavor. Best paired with their signature paella and mashed sweet potato. The right way to eat it is to have a piece of each element on your spoon and be ready to devour as all the flavors sing a melodious harmony in your palate.
Their smoothies are only priced at Php40! Everything is a must try. Absolutely refreshing with guaranteed fresh ingredients, the Banana Basil is a match of fruit and herb made in culinary heaven! The rich consistency of this drink will make you want to order more.
If you are more into a total straight up refresher, the Minty Cucumber is perfect for you! The aroma of this concoction alone will quench your thirst.
Tarragon Fan? Then this drink is for you.
Clique’s menu is mainly focused on sandwiches and chicken – for now at least. The owners promised that they are soon to introduce different dishes every month to constantly surprise their customers with fresh dining ideas and delights.
As for their current mainstay, the Sriracha Chicken is a pleasantly piquant dish with pickled carrots and shredded chicken embraced by soft buns. All their sandwiches are for only Php100. The version presented to us was served with potato wedges that have a nice kick and crispy skin.
Paella is one of the top sellers at Clique. For Php1,000 you get a big bilao of paella garnished with eggs and with their signature Clique Chicken in the middle. It definitely is a hit during special occasions.
We tried the Savory Wrap with Hoisin Peanut sauce, a delicious sandwich of shredded chicken, pickled carrots, cucumber glazed with a lovely sauce. The wrap has a soft and somewhat dusty consistency; the hoisin peanut sauce is thick and lovely.
A creative combination of chicken and pesto in a wonderful sandwich – Chicken Pesto Sandwich is another must try at Clique. We were served with a side of nachos and a pesto dip.
Hungry for Hungarian? Then you will be blown by the Hungarian Sausage Sandwich. Nicely toasted buns wrap a halved Hungarian sausage and caramelized onion. The sausage is perfectly cooked and you will definitely enjoy every bite!
The Chicken Wrap is spicy and is Clique’s version of the shawarma. Pickled carrots, cucumber, and fresh parsley await your palate.
You are a true connoisseur if you can guess what’s in the Breakfast Surprise. A sandwich with scrambled eggs, pickled carrots, and a surprise! One serving of this dish is sure to make your breakfast meal a glee.
Clique has its rendition of the burrito too! Satay Burrito is made with Java rice and all the burrito goodness, what makes this dish distinct are the aromatic herbs blended into it.
Our palates were thrilled with their pasta line up – The Penne Pesto Pasta and Baked Macaroni. Both are amazingly tasty and can actually be good for two!
Penne Pesto Pasta
Coming soon is a roster of desserts from the lovely sansrival to a cake version of the Boston Crème. The price will range between Php100 and Php120. OpenRice Philippines was treated to their barrage of sweet tooth busters.
Sansrival, Boston Creame, Chocolate Lemon Cake, Lime Cake
Clique can accommodate around 60-70 pax of which 25 can fit inside the resto. What started out as a support to the carwash business by which their original concept was only for take out, became a booming food destination. More surprises await as this resto will soon have an array of rice meals and other luscious treats.
What to expect soon? Well, try to imagine a platter where regional dishes from all over the Philippines jive on one plate for an unbelievably affordable price. The goal as I would quote: “To tap all the senses in one meal with a very low price.”
Here’s a teaser – the leche flan shake. Fresh milk blended to give you a smooth lip smacking leche flan goodness!
Clique is located at 19 Dasdasan St., Midtown Subdivision, Marikina. You can take the road to Mayor Gil Fernando Ave as the establishment has a way through the parallel street. Call them for inquiries: 0977.714.7561
