Putting EXTRA into Ordinary

The place looks simple and not too elegant but I love the mural on the wall and the photos of its scrumptious food.

   Savory Half chicken [PhP195]

I would have to say it’s a lot tastier and juicier than I expected; way better than the 1945 chicken, if you know what I mean. I also love the tender bananas on the side; a simple yet noteworthy addition.

   Pancit Canton [PhP195]

I prefer a less saucy version of it but nonetheless it was flavorful and there were a lot of different toppings.

   Half Patatim Special [PhP285]

You’ll love the tender meat and the sweet sauce! The presentation is also very appetizing and I love the flower shaped carrot on the side. It makes the dish look more interesting.

Plain rice [PhP25/] – I’d have to say rice in most restaurants – Savory not an exception, puts a large price on rice.

Service-wise, the staff attended to our needs just fine. I also appreciate that the one who took our bill cared to ask if we had an SM advantage card which entitled us to 10% discount.

Thank you to Savory for making an ordinary afternoon a memorable and enjoyable one.

The Classic Savory is a Classic Favorite

One of our Classic Favorites, Classic Savory...

   Classic Savory Chicken

Price Whole Chicken Php 345 and Yang Chow Rice Php 175

Description Savory friend chicken cooked the traditional way and yang chow style fried rice.

Personal Review When all else fails, we go to Classic Savory. We are always sure that we will love what we eat. We ordered the whole chicken with extra gravy and an order of their Yang Chow Fried rice. I love the gravy that comes with the chicken, sometimes I imagine it being a soup and it would be enough to eat with the rice. Luckily, the chicken tastes just as good and goes so well with their fried rice.

Another dish to try is the Wawi Crab, it's a crab omelet with a delicious sauce around it. The crab meat is plentiful and the egg is soft and yummy. Classic Savory will always be on top of our list of favorite restaurants.

Savor the Savory
Just OK 2011-11-29
I still remember the old Savory Restaurant near Quiapo Church because that was where we would eat after hearing mass. I was sorry that it closed down and happy when I learned that they re-opened.

However, it seems that there was a split within the group, and the Classic Savory is a spin-off. Sorry, I am not too happy with this new resto because the chicken tastes different. The crew keeps convincing me that this is the same recipe, but my taste buds refuses to believe. Has it been that long that I have forgotten the taste or is it possible that I am right? I may never know the answer to this.

Classic Savory, Classic Deliciousness
Smile 2011-07-21
On a payday friday, I treated my family to Classic Savory. I'm very particular on the Savory restaurant we'd eat since there are several versions of the savory food chain. The Classic Savory for me is the best and most delicious one by far.

Even though it was payday, the place was not full. We ordered the usual yang chow fried rice but decided to order something new. My husband chose the salt and pepper pork and I got the Lo han Chai since I was craving for some mushrooms.

The food arrived fast and hot lol

The Lo han Chai was a surprise hit! It tasted so good and the helping was very generous (but very few mushrooms). The tofu had large cuts and so SAVORY!

We finished the rice but the spareribs were full of fat so we were not able to finish it. all in all, we had a great feast due to the Lo han Chai, definite must try in Savory!
