The Classic Savory is one of my favorite restaurants. I used to come here with my girlfriends but this time it is a very different story. Last mother's day, my brothers & I together with our loving Dadz decided to treat the most special woman in the house at The Classic Savory because from my experience & my Kuya Xiao's experience as well, The Classic Savory always satisfies our cravings
of Roasted Chicken, Patatim, Lumpiang Shanghai, Miki Bihon or Canton, Yang Chow Rice and many more. If you haven’t been to The Classic Savory, I recommend you visit and order their best sellers like the one I have mentioned above (Roasted Chicken, Patatim, Lumpiang Shanghai, Miki Bihon or Canton, Yang Chow Rice). Damage to the budget is usually PHP 1500 for a group of 5 hungry people and definitely worth it! Hahaha!!!

It was such a great experience dining at Yellow Cab Pizza in McArthur Highway, San Nicholas, Tarlac City for the second time now. I was with my friend Ayen when I went there and we enjoyed it a lot. We ordered our ever favorite CHICKEN WINGS--- Buffalo style .. It was Nice, sweet & spicy and a bit tangy but I liked their ice cream here (Chocolate or Pistachio) the most because it's very creamy and it's not "NAKAKASAWA" at all. We also ordered SARSI (in can) & SOLA Iced tea (her favorite drink). And ofcourse, we also ordered some pizzas for the both of us. We chose Manhattan this time (usually we order New York's Finest). Well just to be different this time. I highly recommend dining at Yellow Cab Pizza in McArthur Highway, San Nicholas, Tarlac City.

To make story short,we did not say anything as we left Eric be the judge sicne he is the one who knows the truth about the shawarma and indeed he said,it is the best authentic shawarma he ever had..it is just like the one they serve in Doha.
We were all amamzed by the richenss of the Garlic sauces this Saha Shawarma presents.....Gosh...it is just a rianbow and every sauce you try makes you strive for the other....

I really think that my mom will enjoy eating here at Bag of Beans in Tagaytay not because the food is extraordinary or because it is something new but because the view of Taal Volcano is just spectacular.
Bag of Beans
Bag of Beans offers Filipino Dishes that are commonly available to other Filipino restaurants can be found in Manila. I think what's different here is the brewed coffee and they offer different types of pie be it sweet or salty.
They also offer Rice Toppings that costs P150 per order. I ordered their Lechon Kawali Rice Topping for brunch.
Lechon Kawali
It was okay. I mean I have tried Lechon Kawali so many times now but what makes it remarkable is the portion. Surprisingly they had a generous serving of chopped Lechon Kawali placed on top of my rice. Usually, when I order rice toppings, the viand is very minimal but not with Bag of Beans. smile
Conti's serves very tasty dishes, great desserts and pastries, and the ambience is very friendly and comfortable.
My mom would enjoy it here because the food is delicious even if the portion is quite small with its price.
Batangas Pork Adobo
I ordered their Batangas Pork Adobo served with red egg mixed with chopped tomatoes and onions. My dish comes with garlic rice.
The meat was tender and very flavorful. It is not the usual Adobo we make in our houses that is swamped with sauce that is sometimes salty or sour. I loved the taste. It's different and it has a garlic flavor.

It was a Saturday set to do some household chores so I wasn’t really expecting anything extraordinary. I knew my sister was coming to return something but I didn’t expect she was going to stay long. It was a good thing though that she got so absorbed watching Junior Masterchef that before we knew it, I was done with the laundry. Worried that there weren’t any food establishments open by the time she arrives to her dormitory, I decided to treat her to dinner at a nearby mall.
She picked Razon’s over 2 other choice restaurants I gave her. You’ll instantly love the light atmosphere upon entering. The walls were pinned with huge pictures of some of their best-sellers like the well-known Halo-Halo, Pancit Luglug and Puto & Dinuguan. On the other side of the wall is a large map of Pampanga where Razon’s was birthed.
Like most restaurants meant for casual dining, they had areas utilizing stools and an area with a couch for more comfortable seating. Although Razon’s is themed under a common color – red, I love the shade they have decided to play on which really looks vibrant and attractive. A shout out to the designer who picked the couch design which I find attractive and somewhat hypnotizing.
They’ve also infused a more homey and “local” or ingenious vibe by adding a water dispenser you won’t find in most restaurants plus the cane-on-cane weave utensil caddy.
My sister went for Pancit Plus ₱135. It looks and tastes like Pancit Palabok although personally, I believe it would have tasted much better with a more viscous sauce and more pre-sautéed diced pork.
I on the otherhand, hungry from the day’s tasks opted of a heavier Sizzling Sisig meal ₱150 which is so worth the price! It’s not your typical sisig with a lot of fat and some diced liver. Instead, it consisted of what seemed like shavings of roast pig! It’s one of the yummiest pork sisig I’ve ever tasted and has eaten on its own (without rice) without getting too sated.
Of course a first time at Razon’s wouldn’t be complete without ordering their famous Halo-Halo ₱92.00. I ultimately loved the 2 layers of leche flan, it was really soft and sweet, I wish I could have had a whole pan of it! Then came the shaved iced which surprised me because I wasn’t used to eating halo-halo where the ice instantly melts once it touches your tongue. I loved the feeling and recalled all those times I had to crush the ice with my own teeth and thought “Why couldn’t everyone use shaved ice?!” I mean, personally, most of my comfort foods are desserts and I believe that eating halo halo should give you a sense of comfort not stress you out trying to crush the big chunks. I wouldn’t say this was the best halo halo I’ve tasted because I prefer those with more components or ingredients, but the combination of the fresh and soft bananas, sweet macapuno bottom and creamy milk, shaved ice and leche flan was good enough to relax me from a tiring day.
Another Frozen Yogurt shop that is located in Cliffhouse, Tagaytay.
with Mango Jam and Pistachio
Price: P135 (with two toppings)
Description: Plain frozen yogurt with pistachio and mango jam.
Personal Review: I have gotten used to eating frozen yogurt especially the classic flavor because it was actually pretty good and so perfect with the weather. I usually get mangoes, cereals, or almonds to go with my frozen yogurt but this time, I jazzed it up a little. I ordered their Mango Jam and pistachio.
My frozen yogurt tasted quite okay. Their Frozen yogurt was extra sour as compared to those that I have tried but it was fine. I liked the mango jam so much because it was a combination of sweet and sour. The pistachios were okay too.

A Famous place here in Tagaytay if you want to buy "pasalubong" for your family and loved ones.
Apple Tart
Price: P180
Description: Tart with apple filling.
Personal Review: This is one of the delicious products of Rowena's. Tagaytay may be known for Buko Pies but wait until you taste their Apple Tart and Buko Tart.
The sweetness is just right. I love the crumbles on top of it. There is a generous serving of chopped apple inside with apple sauce.
The tart per ser was good because it's not hard to bite and it is more delicious if you eat it right away instead of storing it. Although you can always microwave it or toast it.

An Italian restaurant also can be found in Tagaytay's famous destination...Cliffhouse.
Eggplant Parmigiana
Price: P280
Description: Similar to lasagna with grilled eggplant with cheese all over.
Personal Review: My friend personally recommended this dish to me even if I am not a big fan of eggplant or any sort of vegetables.
It was actually good because I didn't taste the eggplant that much but I can see them inside. Maybe because there were too much melted cheese on it and got overwhelmed.
It's like lasagna minus the ground beef. I'm pretty sure I have tasted a little bit of tomato sauce. I enjoyed eating this more with bread instead of eating it as is.

There was this job that needed to be done in Baguio that required a return to Manila on the same day (Yes. Can you believe the drive for this?), so stopping at a lunch place to please a boss with impeccable taste for food was quite the challenge.
Luckily, a timely review of Hill Station came about, and the place looks good. After all, if it is included in the Miele restaurant guide 2011/2012 edition, it has got to be something else.
Hill Station is the restaurant inside the Casa Vallejo Boutique Hotel. This boasts of a heritage since 1909, and its facade from the outside shows some promise of a hidden gem inside a cave. So enter the cave to see what it holds.
Great!
Past the reception and wooden flooring, and take a peek from the landing overlooking the restaurant. For just one moment, it does feel like being thrown back in time, with wooden beams supporting the steep roof and a staircase on either side winding down to a classic looking cafe. Antique chandeliers and swags drape above a wooden floor that has seen its share of Baguio throughout the years.
Hill Station seats a respectable amount of guests who would want to enjoy some great food in an experience that would just make you ache for those days before Baguio was ruined by the 1990 earthquake and the succeeding over-commercialization of Session Road and its historical parks.
And it beckons you to lounge even longer. With comfortable couches well placed on the side with a great view through picture windows, the cool breeze can make you forget the hour. It does feel like stepping into a time capsule, surrounded by quaintness and nostalgic charm.
Grab a good book and stay, hidden from everything else.
Great!
What you should never forget, though, is to have a sumptuous meal, whether alone or with company over sincere conversations. Start of with some Calamares (PHP 135.00) and Picado (PHP 145.00) (A Spanish version of Salpicao. Pretty much the same, though). Both appetizers have tender meat, with the Calamares having a crunchy bready coating and the Picado’s flavored beef sealed in all the way.
Great!
Great!
And since it is Baguio, never miss out in their fresh strawberry juice (PHP 95.00). It is sweet and refreshing, do not feel ashamed to order more. You are taken back to vintage Baguio, after all.
Great!
Once you’re over their appetizers, head for some of their entrees. Interestingly, the boss was craving for some slow cooked goodness, so everything ordered afterwards came from that selection:
Great!
Spanish Callos (PHP 360.00) : Great tomato based entree that you can smother all over rice. If you are more towards some exciting game meat, anything lamb like the Lamb Stew (PHP 420.00) is for you. The tenderness of the meat is the sign of that slow cooked goodness of a low heat, created with tender-loving care.
Great!
Moroccan Spiced Baby Back Ribs (PHP 395.00) got our curiosity to see how something normally associated with hickory barbecue flavor will turn out. It is quite interesting. the same fall-off-the-bone cooking is there, but this time the familiar tangy taste is replaced with something that is similar to a sweet curry.
Great!
Finish off with a hot cup of their Cordillera Blend Coffee (PHP 60.00), or maybe order more of that addicting fresh strawberry juice, or get some of their desserts. Either way, stay a bit longer. Enjoy reminiscing and hoping that Hill Station never changes and leaves its place, for everything just outside of it is a whole different world that is called reality.
But in the meantime you are inside, dream away

Perfect for pasalubong, for coffee break snacks and for a gift!
To ready ourselves for a big afternoon trying out Wakeboarding in CWC, we had a big lunch over at Bigg's.
The place looks line a retro American diner. Dotting the wall is a vintage memorabilia of things I only see in old movies -- old telephone, cash register, clock, video camera, radio.
On the other side are road signs uncommon in the Philippines. The ambiance and interior design of the restau really gives you that I'm-in-an-American-diner feel which is a new and refreshing feeling.
They offer a wide variety of meals - pasta dishes, platters, rice toppings; even pizza, burgers and sandwiches, and seafood. They also have shakes, salad delights, cake for dessert and beverages.
A few of what the group ordered:
Crispy Chicken (2-pc) [P149] Their pamphlet says that Bigg's best seller is their crispy chicken marinated with spices and citrus. I couldn't agree more. The skin is crunchy but the meat's so tender and juicy it makes your mouth water.
Italian Spaghetti with Chicken and Pizza bread [P162] The pizza bread looks really enticing, I wish I ordered one for myself.
Carbonara with Chicken [P127] The pasta was cooked just fine. The serving was more than I could ask for. The sauce was creamy and a bountiful of bacon bits. What's intriguing about it is the toasted garlic bits as toppings which I find surprising and not so appealing. Good thing the sauce was tasty enough to drown the taste of the garlic.
Another I found interesting was the Rock 'n Roll Iced Tea [P47]. I was curious as to why it was tagged as such. I was definitely glad I tried it! I loved it's sweetness. I couldn’t describe or compare it's taste with something else but it's definitely a unique taste. It rocked my lunch alright!

Who would have thought that there's a wine bar in Ortigas? I have always thought of it as some business district, and nothing more. Sure, there are a few restaurants here and there, but nothing of this sort. It must be nice for the people working in the area to know that there is a place where they can lounge and relax after work. As for me, it IS nice to find some place that serves really good food.
Their burgers here are really known, because of the bone marrow on the side. I was very tempted to try it, but then the thought of steaks appealed more to me at that time.
And of course, what is a wine bar without the wine? The people there are not so discriminating, which was a very good thing. They gave everyone the chance to try out their wines, giving suggestions as to what would work best with each palate and budget.
I could say that I will definitely come back to this place, with its high class yet welcoming ambiance, and the good good food, paired with their quality wine.
Being in Aklan means getting to eat a whole lot of seafood. From crabs, to mussels to prawns... this place has the freshest of them all. Although eating seafood day to day may be nice to most city-dwelling people, for folks like me who has access to them every time I am here, it can get pretty old. I mean, eating the same stuff the whole time can get really tiring. There will come a point wherein you would want something new.
So off we went to Kalibo, hoping that the establishments near the Kalibo International Airport can give us something different from the usual Aklanon fare. Of course there were the usual batchoys and the tapsilogs. But what caught my eyes is this place that from outside, somehow looked like a spa. This restaurant serves international as well as local cuisine, and I couldn't help but breathe out a sigh of relief. They had "barako" which is the Aklanons' version of stuffed chili wrapped in a lumpia dough, then deep fried. It's sort of a drinking staple, since it pairs well with beer.
All in all, the place is a good start when it comes to providing good food to people waiting for their flight. When people are in no mood to get their hands all dirty from taking off shells of crabs, Saylo would be the next best thing.
It took some time for the front part of this place to open up again. For a while or so back then, it was covered because of the ongoing renovations to the smoking area outside. It was sort of a hassle for some, because it has become a hang out place for the people who live around the area, including myself.
When it finally finished all renovations, all is normal again and everyone can enjoy their signature good coffee, paired with their good food. I admit, their breakfast all day line is good, although it would be better if there were more staff, because some tend to fumble whenever faced with too much customers.
But it's still good. So long as they keep up with the quality of their coffee, I'm all good. Plus this contraption that they have, which lights up whenever your order's ready... is cool.
