I was happy to see a box of Pasalubong from Bacolod since there are well known bakeries and that sort of stuff in that city from Visayas. I started this appreciation for anything from Visayas when I visited Dumaguete City several years ago and was able to sample what Visayas as to offer Pasalubong-wise.
The plastic containing the tarts give out an inkling of what goodies await you when you decide to go ahead and indulge your taste buds to sink in its natural goodness. I also love how Merci Pasalubong has expressed their love for Bacolod by placing a logo saying “I Love Bacolod” on the plastic.
I was glad to be given the bag filled with Cheese Tarts (P44) while some other office mates got Pineapple Tarts instead (P38) . Although I love Pineapples, I love Cheese better since the taste is just right and not as sweet as those who have fruity Pineapple tarts. When you open the plastic the tarts are shaped not like boats as tarts often do; the cheese tarts are irregularly shape like hearts while the Pineapple Tarts look like mini empanadas.
