“I Love Bacolod” Pasalubong
Smile 2012-06-04

I was happy to see a box of Pasalubong from Bacolod since there are well known bakeries and that sort of stuff in that city from Visayas. I started this appreciation for anything from Visayas when I visited Dumaguete City several years ago and was able to sample what Visayas as to offer Pasalubong-wise.

The plastic containing the tarts give out an inkling of what goodies await you when you decide to go ahead and indulge your taste buds to sink in its natural goodness. I also love how Merci Pasalubong has expressed their love for Bacolod by placing a logo saying “I Love Bacolod” on the plastic.

I was glad to be given the bag filled with Cheese Tarts (P44) while some other office mates got Pineapple Tarts instead (P38) . Although I love Pineapples, I love Cheese better since the taste is just right and not as sweet as those who have fruity Pineapple tarts. When you open the plastic the tarts are shaped not like boats as tarts often do; the cheese tarts are irregularly shape like hearts while the Pineapple Tarts look like mini empanadas.

Merci Pasalubong is produced by CM & Sons Food Products Inc. is a leading bread and pasalubong producer in Negros. Their plastic says it’s “Value for Money”. For those who may wish to purchase some goodies when they travel in Negros you may do so by visiting their bakeshop outlets which are spread throughout all the metro of Bacolod City.

A Never Ending Love for Sweets

   Pineapple Tarts My Favorite.♥

   Cheese Tarts

Mom’s boss was sweet enough to take some Bacolod’s baked tarts as a pasalubong. I was not so excited to see Cheese Tarts since I do not eat all foods or baked goodies that have cheese although I love some of the dishes that have melted cheese on them. Ms. Ilyn told me to distribute the baked goodies that were packed in a big box to all of the people in the office. I was happy enough to do the tasks for her because it was something to do instead of just waiting for my Mom to have her lunch break.

   Attractively Wrapped Baked Goodies

I ask Mom to exchange some of her Cheese tarts with Pineapple tarts instead. I love the shapes since I am artistic in nature. Although I love meringue which sits happily on top of the cheese it did not make me love the Pineapple less. I ate the whole Pineapple tart but the only ate half of the cheese tart. Who knows maybe next time we will be able to take a trip to Bacolod too. I am excited to tastes more of what Merci Pasalubong has to offer.
