We're back at subic again and my siblings and I insisted that we have to eat at this place again. Sure it may not have the juiciest steaks out there but they're still really good. I especially love their dish called the bomb, where it is a potato gratin because it works really well with the steak. My brothers enjoyed it more than anyone else. I just wished they had a branch in Manila.

Filling meat
Smile 2012-10-18
In my opinion, there aren't much good places to dine in when you're around the Subic area. But every now and then, you'd get to stumble upon some places that are worth going back to. The first time I tried this place, I enjoyed their food so much, that I was more on looking forward to dinner rather than anything else. Although it can get crowded during dinner and their meat might have been frozen, the quality's still drool-worthy and every dish is worth every cent.

I always like going to subic not just because it's near and easy to go to, not just for the brand outlets and the duty free shops, not just for the beach...but also for this place. I know you can find a lot of places like this in Manila, but there's just something about it that I'm really drawn to. Maybe it's the meat quality, the service, or that a lot of people enjoy eating here too. But one thing's for sure... that I will always head to this place whenever I'm in subic.

Baby Back Ribs All The Way!

   Baby Back Ribs

Price Php 200

Description Baby back ribs served with fried rice

Personal Rating Ah Subic, a day of sun, sand and food tripping! We got to try Meat Plus Cafe and I ordered their famous Baby Back Ribs. The meal comes with a serving of rice. The serving is good for one. If you want to share, the person you're sharing with should have their own order too. The baby back ribs were ok. The meat was not too tender but the barbecue glaze was great, the rice tasted more like it was cooked in chicken broth. Hubby got the steak meal but claimed that it was mostly fat. I guess we had high expectations for this place. But for the price of our lunch meals, it was better than eating else where. Plus, we get to taste their local cuisine.

Bonding with my cousins

Price: P 250

Description: Grilled Pork Ribs served with rice

Personal Review: I visited my aunts and cousins in Subic last March and during my vacation we went to Meat Plus Café for lunch and some bonding time. I personally liked their grilled pork ribs because it was grilled and marinated to perfection. The price is also great considering that this restaurant is in Subic.

Missing Subic
Smile 2012-02-28
There are so many things to miss about Subic. The quiet and orderly way of life, the outlet shops, their amusing americanized convenience stores (that sells a lot of really neat stuff), and their good food.

One of the restos there that I miss the most is Meat Plus. A lot of people would flock to this place for dinner, so it would be good to go there early. It's sort of like a fast food place, with you lining up to order and pay. I must say, even though their steaks were frozen, they were cooked well, just as how you would like it. One of the side dishes that I really loved was The Bomb. It's a dish of baked potatoes in butter and garlic. Typing this review now still makes me crave for it.

The next time I get to go to Subic, this will be the first place I'd go to.

mini stop over for a great adventure
Smile 2011-10-16
Thank God for long weekends! This one was extra special because we had two days off aside from Saturday and Sunday. Bebe invited me to go on a long trip with her family and I asked Jen to tag along. Days before this trip, Jen was asking me if our plans would push thru. I told her that most of my friends already know me. They can’t talk about the details of the plan with me because I get sick days before the trip. Weird, isn’t? That’s how I’ve been a couple of years. I get too excited that something would happen.
The day finally arrived for our long drive to Palauig Zambales. It was a rainy Saturday morning but that didn’t stop us from cancelling our trip. Alex who came from work was going to bring us out of the city before I could drive their car. By the time that I was behind the wheel, he wasn’t able to catch up on his sleep because Shiloh was playing with her. At around 2 pm, we arrived in Subic. Something tells me that it’s definitely past lunch time so we needed to grab a bite. Luckily, Jen knows where we can have a good meal with discount. She had to pull some strings for us and I’m glad that she did.
As usual, we had to order different meals to maximize the opportunity to try out everything that we can. The place kinda confuses me with the casual (orders are taken on the counter)/ fine dining (prices are greater than your usual meal) setup. Or should we call it semi fine dining. The prices can really scare you at first but once you see their serving, it’s enough. Good for sharing. In the end, I was satisfied with our feast even Shiloh had fun dipping her fries in steak sauce.

Salpicao and Mushroom Soup
Smile 2011-10-13
Meat Plus Cafe (Subic)

-Bam smile

American Feast at Subic
Smile 2011-08-02
The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, more commonly known as SCTEX, makes driving to Subic a lot more convenient. Before, it would take us around 2 hours to get to Subic from Pampanga. Now, because of the SCTEX, we can get to Subic in as fast as 30 minutes. Because of the convenience, it's not that difficult anymore to persuade friends to go on a joy ride.

   Steak

Have you ever felt those times wherein it's a weekend and there's nothing for you to do? I have. These are those times when I text friends if they want to watch a movie or if they want to go somewhere. Good thing my high school friends were available, so we opted to go to Subic for a change. Come lunch time, there was the tedious task of choosing where to eat. Good thing we passed by a food place named Meat Plus Cafe. It's an American inspired food place that looks like a school canteen when you see the interiors. The best thing to try here would be the steaks, as they look really juicy and perfectly cooked. We also decided to buy some banana splits for dessert. The steak was reeaaaaaalllyyy good! It's not like the steaks of other food places that serve only copycats. This one really looks like the one an American restaurant would serve you. It's big, it's tender, and it's marinated well. Now this is how you cook delicious steak. I didn't give much attention to the veggies on the side, though. But, you'll really fall in love with their steak here. The banana split just adds that exclamation point to your whole Meat Plus experience. If you're not satisfied with just one scoop of ice cream, then Meat Plus will give you three scoops of different flavors. Add some bananas on the side and some whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cherries and candy sprinkles on top and voila, you have monster-rific dessert right in front of you. I've always wanted to eat this type of banana split like the ones I see on American movies and series. My favorites were the chocolate and the vanilla ice cream. If you're a group, then you have got to try this!

   Banana Split

If Subic is giving you a hard time on where to eat, then here's a choice you might like. Meat Plus continues to delight customers with its mouth-watering dishes. Steaks are the best, but they also have other dishes that are worth trying. Meat Plus is something that I would want to visit for meal time the next time I visit Subic. Thank God for this Subic road trip. ^_^

Sumptuous Family Lunch at Subic
Smile 2011-06-30
When our family had our outing at Zambales, we had our last meal (lunch) stop at Meat Plus in Subic before going back to Manila. It was actually my first time to eat here after several times of going back to subic that's why i thought it's a new resto. But when i browsed through OpenRice.com i saw that it's already in the database so i assumed that this is not a new restaurant anymore.

The place was jam-packed with customers, probably the same as us who came in as family (and relatives). We waited in the long line to place our orders. I ordered for grilled pork ribs meal and a macaroni salad. The set meal was delicious and the serving was huge. i was still able to finish my plate but i wasn't able to eat my salad so i just gave it to the next table where my parents and titos and titas were sitting. tongue

Our meal wasn't over until my brother-in-law treated all of us with ice cream for dessert, especially for the kids. It was a huge serving of ice cream (i forgot how they call it) that both the kids and kids-at-heart enjoyed. tongue

we were all so full after our sumptuous lunch. tongue

Mighty Meaty Meat
Smile 2010-06-07

Coming from Clark, Pampanga, we took the long drive via SCTEX and gave our tummy a treat to Meat Plus Cafe.

Located at the heart of Subic, Meat Plus Cafe gives you a mighty meaty experience.

My friends and I tried, the pork chops, tenderloin and topsirloin accompanied with cold light beer.

If you love to eat meat, Meat Plus will surely satisfy your craving! smile
