It was a sunny morning at Boracay and we couldn't let pass eating a hearty breakfast since we wanted to have all the energy that we will need for an action-packed day ahead of us.
We spotted Big Mama's along station 1, which is just a few steps from the resort we checked in.
The place was very simple, just like the typical carinderia that you can spot in some part of the metro. The have a very common set up. Ordinary monoblock chairs and tables. I also noticed that they are composed of all male crew, I'm not sure if there are female crew in this establishment, but we have not spotted any single female crew. Though they were all men, they still respond quickly to every customer's request.
We ordered for their Tapsilog, a classic favorite Filipino breakfast. The tapa was sliced into strips which was so delicious. It was really flavorful that you won't even need a vinegar to enjoy this breakfast. The meat was tender and we didn't spot any fat in this Tapa. The sinangag was also good, it has enough amount of garlic. The fried egg was something common and in average size I guess. The 3 thin slices of tomato is fine, though I don't think that it was fresh.
The coffee... I find it exensive! They only served us a 3 in 1 instant coffee and a cup of water and that's already PhP 25. I should have bought my own instant coffee which would only cost me about PhP 6 or PhP 7.
All in all, we find the meal delicious but overly expensive. Like what other customers have said, its a "turista price."
25 pesos worth instant coffee
