Somewhere in the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong (near my house) is a resto bar that is very nice to chill out and fill your stomachs with delicious food.
The atmosphere of the whole place is familiar to almost all superclubs in the metro but the difference is there are a lot of chairs and sofas to sit on. Much like common bars and clubs they prohibit DSLR cameras, hoodies, jersey baggy tees/ shorts, sandos and slippers.
For refreshments, they served us their Freshly Brewed Iced Tea
, It’s a thick brew of what tastes like something similar to a mix of tamarind, Lipton Red Iced Tea, and a calamansi aftertaste.
Served as appetizers, They gave us buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing
. The buffalo wings was just plain buffalo wings, it was not that spicy at all but what peaked my interest are loads of blue cheese that came with it. Eating it ordinarily there’s nothing special. Eating it with blue cheese, now that’s something that taste differently in your mouth.
Next up is a mouthful of smoked salmon roulade with cream cheese, fried capers, dill, shallot rings and alfalfa
. The smoked salmon is thinly slice and rolled up with cream cheese, fried, capers, and others inside. This was my favorite dish out of all the dishes because the rolled up salmon makes you chew more feeling a sweet rubbery texture whilst the sensation of flavors keep changing everytime you chew. I can’t describe each taste but it was surely an explosion of flavors even for a sophisticated pallet.
What’s unique about UNO is how they present their pizza. Instead of the traditional shaped square or circle pizza they serve it in an oval shape. First pizza they served was the Full House Pizza(Top left)
.There was nothing exemplary about the pizza nor could I say anything bad about it. It was a yummy pizza and the oval shape is quite unique in presentation.
Next up on their pizza lineup was Uno’s seafood pizza ovale(bottom left)
. The evident aroma screams seafood. My first bite of the pizza was astounding even without my mouth touching the toppings there was already a sea breeze of oyster taste on the cheese making it purely delectable and combined with the toppings is something that’s out of this world.
Second to the last dished out in front of us was buddha’s feast pizza ovale (top right)
. It’s basically their own version of vegetarian pizza but not those plain vegetarian pizzas. One thing I’ve noticed is that it has corn for toppings, a vegetable I don’t usually see in vegetarian pizzas of other restaurants making the texture of the whole pizza crunchier and yummier. They also had a lot of serving of sliced shitake mushrooms which are my favorite.
Last served on the pizza lineup was the four season pizza (bottom right)
ovale and something i don’t know. It was okay nothing special but was delicious still.
Served together were Pork belly cofit with salted egg and tomato salad and slow roasted pork bbq with jicama and red cabbage slaw. I did not got a chance to taste the one with salted egg but i guess since both of them are pork belly it would be the same right? (fail logic). I loved the roasted pork barbecue, the soft tenderness of the pork belly combined with the zing taste of barbecue sauce.
Handed to us next was a dish called Seared Cajun tofu with caramelized onion with grilled pork belly. My 2nd favorite dish of the night at first glance I thought it was just sisig with toasted bread but boy was I wrong. The tofu was splendidly soft and melts in your mouth on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Combined with the sisig or grilled pork belly it’s surely one awesome meal
Lastly, they gave us dessert which was Crab cakes w/ roasted corn relish and citrus salad and caramel sauce. The dish was presented fabulously and the taste of the crab cake was fine.
After eating the food, we were invited to party and PARTY WE SHALL. We were offered cocktails and I ordered as well. Stayed there for about 20 minutes till I finish my cocktail and left. (Drink and run lol)
Thanks to the beautiful manager who was very welcoming and suggestive. See you soon!
