Uno Lounge: The Food
Just OK 2013-01-21
I got to try one of the newest hang-outs in the Greenfield District called Uno Lounge from the owners of Uno Pizzeria.

We got to try their pizza ovale and other dishes that they'll be offering soon.

Two of the pizzas we got to taste are Full House Pizza (Php 350) and Buddha's Feast (Php 395).

I liked the pizzas. The toppings were added generously.

We got to try Smoked Salmon Roulade and Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing.

Our group liked the Smoked Salmon Roulade. The cream cheese adds character to the dish. The buffalo wings wasn't spicy enough for me.

We also had Crab Cakes, Pork Belly Confit and Seared Cajun Tofu.

The dishes above are really interesting, especially for the Pork Belly Confit with Salted Egg and Tomatoes. I never really liked tofu but I loved the Seared Cajun Tofu.

We also got to try some of the signature drinks. We had Passionate Kiss, Girlie Peachie and Hypnosis. The drinks are mild enough that a drink or two won't get you drunk.

The resto is currently on their soft opening so some of the dishes above aren't still on the menu. Official launch will be on February.

GLAM AND CLASSY

 UNO LOUNGE

I am surprised that Greenfield district developed a place called "the HUB" it’s actually a watering hole for a lot of people I must say. Its a place to invade for someone who wants good food and good time as well. A very stunning resto bar called UNO LOUNGE caught my attention. I thought that all food/drinks are expensive before seeing the MENU because of the interiors you can see inside and outside of this establishment. But I am really surprised that most of the food and drinks are very affordable. UNO LOUNGE is a very classy, elegant place that I never thought I can find in Shaw blvd. It’s actually waiting to be discovered by a lot of people who are looking for a new place to hang out without going to THE FORT or in Makati.

 This where the party starts

All the staffs are nice and very friendly. The first dish that was being served was called "BUFFALO WINGS WITH BLUE CHEESE DRESSING" I am not a fan of Buffalo wings but this version of UNO LOUNGE is special maybe because of the generous blue cheese dressing that concealed the strong taste of the Buffalo wings. I actually consumed more than 2 I guess haha. [VDO:3]

BUFFALO WINGS WITH BLUE CHEESE DRESSING

After chicken it’s time to eat sea food. The next dish that was being served was the " SMOKE SALMON ROULADE WITH CREAM CHEESE, FRIED CAPERS,DILL, SHALLOT RINGS AND ALFALFA" This is a must try. I can’t even tell that what I am eating was a meat fish. All other ingredients compliment so well that’s why it turned out to be super yummy dish.

   SMOKED SALMON

UNO LOUNGE also serves delicious PIZZA. I have tried “UNO’S SEAFOOD PIZZA OVALE"(BOTTOM RIGHT) which is really delicious, you can definitely taste the flavor of the squids on top of it that blends well with the melted cheese. However, it’s too oily but the taste was great. The next one was "BUDDHA'S FEAST PIZZA OVALE" (BOTTOM RIGHT) it’s actually a veggie pizza. The taste was great, the corn bits made it little sweeter for every bite you will surely love and last one I have tried was "FOUR SEASON PIZZA OVALE" this is my favorite because you can definitely try different flavors. I guess because of its unique shape, it will surely be unforgettable aside from the taste. [VDO:5]

   FOUR SEASON

After having a sumptuous dinner and all the chit chats with friends, its time to party. UNO LOUNGE is not just a dining place but a party place as well. I can compare it with fiama in Makati and opus in RS. We have tried a cocktail drink called "GIRLIE PITCHIE" it’s a mix of vodka, orange juice and schnapps. This has a sweet taste with a kick after wards. Maybe because of the vodka but it taste good plus the cherries will surely makes it more fun to drink. I actually told my friend to celebrate her birthday at UNO LOUNGE because the place is really cool and classy, good people, great dishes and a party place for anyone who wants to have fun.

UNO lounge a great place to party and eat
Smile 2013-01-17
Somewhere in the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong (near my house) is a resto bar that is very nice to chill out and fill your stomachs with delicious food.

The atmosphere of the whole place is familiar to almost all superclubs in the metro but the difference is there are a lot of chairs and sofas to sit on. Much like common bars and clubs they prohibit DSLR cameras, hoodies, jersey baggy tees/ shorts, sandos and slippers.

For refreshments, they served us their Freshly Brewed Iced Tea, It’s a thick brew of what tastes like something similar to a mix of tamarind, Lipton Red Iced Tea, and a calamansi aftertaste.
Served as appetizers, They gave us buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing. The buffalo wings was just plain buffalo wings, it was not that spicy at all but what peaked my interest are loads of blue cheese that came with it. Eating it ordinarily there’s nothing special. Eating it with blue cheese, now that’s something that taste differently in your mouth.
Next up is a mouthful of smoked salmon roulade with cream cheese, fried capers, dill, shallot rings and alfalfa. The smoked salmon is thinly slice and rolled up with cream cheese, fried, capers, and others inside. This was my favorite dish out of all the dishes because the rolled up salmon makes you chew more feeling a sweet rubbery texture whilst the sensation of flavors keep changing everytime you chew. I can’t describe each taste but it was surely an explosion of flavors even for a sophisticated pallet.

What’s unique about UNO is how they present their pizza. Instead of the traditional shaped square or circle pizza they serve it in an oval shape. First pizza they served was the Full House Pizza(Top left). There was nothing exemplary about the pizza nor could I say anything bad about it. It was a yummy pizza and the oval shape is quite unique in presentation.
Next up on their pizza lineup was Uno’s seafood pizza ovale(bottom left). The evident aroma screams seafood. My first bite of the pizza was astounding even without my mouth touching the toppings there was already a sea breeze of oyster taste on the cheese making it purely delectable and combined with the toppings is something that’s out of this world.
Second to the last dished out in front of us was buddha’s feast pizza ovale (top right). It’s basically their own version of vegetarian pizza but not those plain vegetarian pizzas. One thing I’ve noticed is that it has corn for toppings, a vegetable I don’t usually see in vegetarian pizzas of other restaurants making the texture of the whole pizza crunchier and yummier. They also had a lot of serving of sliced shitake mushrooms which are my favorite.
Last served on the pizza lineup was the four season pizza (bottom right) ovale and something i don’t know. It was okay nothing special but was delicious still.

Served together were Pork belly cofit with salted egg and tomato salad and slow roasted pork bbq with jicama and red cabbage slaw. I did not got a chance to taste the one with salted egg but i guess since both of them are pork belly it would be the same right? (fail logic). I loved the roasted pork barbecue, the soft tenderness of the pork belly combined with the zing taste of barbecue sauce.

Handed to us next was a dish called Seared Cajun tofu with caramelized onion with grilled pork belly. My 2nd favorite dish of the night at first glance I thought it was just sisig with toasted bread but boy was I wrong. The tofu was splendidly soft and melts in your mouth on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Combined with the sisig or grilled pork belly it’s surely one awesome meal

Lastly, they gave us dessert which was Crab cakes w/ roasted corn relish and citrus salad and caramel sauce. The dish was presented fabulously and the taste of the crab cake was fine.

After eating the food, we were invited to party and PARTY WE SHALL. We were offered cocktails and I ordered as well. Stayed there for about 20 minutes till I finish my cocktail and left. (Drink and run lol)

Thanks to the beautiful manager who was very welcoming and suggestive. See you soon!
