Sweet Pea
Smile 2013-11-07

Whenever I hear Sweet Pea, it always reminds me of the character in Sucker Punch. But that's not the theme of sweet pea in Mc Kinley Hill.

Sweet Pea's theme is more of light and cozy.

They have different love quotes surrounding the restaurant.

The food at Sweet Pea are also remarkable. I super love how they present their food making it more appetizing to eat and indulge in.

Beef Stroganoff
Smile 2013-01-24
Whenever we go to the Taguig area, I make it to the point that we should try and eat on different restaurants since it is very seldom for us to go to that place.

We tried this little restaurant at The Piazza at Venice called Sweet Pea. We all got curious on what food they will serve.

Beef Stroganoff

I ordered their beef stroganoff since I prefer rice meals. The serving presentation was nice. I like their rice which was tasty and blend well with my tender and tasty beef stroganoff.

roast beef
Smile 2012-12-05
Finding a place to have been really challengin with all the new restaurants making it's name giving you a lot of option. It's lunch time and we decided to try Sweet Pea.

Roast beef

I ordered their roast beef for lunch. The sauce is delicious making the roast beef experience fantastic plus the sprinkled sesame seeds add taste to it.. It is so tender as well. The side dish goes well with the roast beef. If you're fan of beef, you should definitely try this.

Sweet Pea Tuesday
Cries 2012-09-04
It was a fine Tuesday morning and my boyfriend and I decided to eat out. We were at school and Venice Piazza is just one jeep away so just went there. We had a hard time choosing where to eat until we saw Sweet Pea. The interiors is inviting so we just decided to give it a try. I love the coziness of the place.

We ordered Bacon Cheese Fries for appetizers. It's just too cheesy for me. Nevertheless, my boyfriend enjoyed it since he is a cheese fan.

I ordered some chicken and pasta plate. It's like Pizza chicken something... Sorry, I forgot what it's called. I didn't like it that much. It's so ordinary and the pasta lacks some flavor. The sauteed vegetables that comes with it has no impact at all.

BF had BBQ Back Ribs. The serving is big I can say. I took a bite from his meal and we both agreed that the BBQ sauce has very overpowering sweetness.

Overall, we didn't enjoy the food that much. Another downside, which is a very big factor, is that the food served to us is cold. Like room-temperature cold. I am not that impressed with Sweet Pea. It is just disappointing knowing that it is owned by Chef Florabel. They should improve their meals since it is also quite pricey. They should serve what is worthy of the price.

Description:
Beef & Mushroom Lasagna-Baked to Perfection---I just love the cheese smothered all over the pasta! Delicioso!
Crispy Fish Fillet Pizza Ola-This dish is my ultimate favorite. It’s definitely a hearty and filling meal. The fish fillet is very crispy yet tender. The pasta paired with the fish is just the perfect combo!
Personal Review:
This place is just like Banapple, but a bit more pricier. I love how affordable the foods here are. I can just taste heaven!

Rex Smith concert at Piazza, dinner at Sweet Pea.
Just OK 2012-02-13
We got to the restaurant before it got busy and got a good seat. The waiters were very helpful adjusting the table so we can see the stage better. After we got settled we got our menus and I was happy to see their choices... they have a really good selection and most were my favorites! We couldn't really decide what to get, I don't know if it was mainly because we had pizza for merienda at S&R or because there was a lot of good things to choose from. Finally we decided to get pumpkin soup, corn and bacon chowder, their tapa and crispy liempo platter and a basket of buffalo wings and take it from there if we still feel like eating afterwards. We didn't have to wait long for the order and the soups arrived first. It both looked good but the pumpkin soup was a bit watery, though the taste was fairly okay. The chowder was a bit on the salty side, probably because of the bacon...
Then came the tapa platter, which was good too. The tapa was a little tough but I expect that's how tapa should be, I mean if it was real tapa (the dried kind). The liempo was ok too, the crispiness was as expected and the meat was tender. It was cooked just right. The platter came with vinegar and lechon sauce.
The chicken was crispy and it was good. It reminded me of the chicken from my childhood, one our old neighbor used to cook. You usually have this in kiddie parties done at home. I think its boiled in fish sauce first before you put cornstarch and egg to fry. It came with the ranch dipping sauce and a barbecue sauce that tasted a bit like teriyaki sauce.
All in all, the food was good nothing exceptional, a bit pricey than most, but the dessert was disappointing. We ordered the chocolate cake since it top bills their menu with a really big picture(half the page) but one bite and I was turned off. It was made with dark chocolate but the texture was really bad. It seems like it was frozen and thawed hence the grainy, sandy texture. For someone who eats just about anything chocolatey, I was really disappointed.
*And if you're planning to get hot tea, they only have one kind, don't believe the waitress when she tells you they have black tea and earl grey... they only have earl grey, she just doesn't know her teas...

Sweetness of Pea
Smile 2011-11-24
Doesn't the name Sweet Pea sounds so sweet?

We headed to Sweet Pea in McKinley to grab some comfort food.

We ordered their Spinach, Bacon & Mushroom Quesadillas (P250) and Crispy Buffalo Wings (P250) both with a "Kid's Love it!" symbol.

The quesadillas reminded me of Shakey's special pizza. We did not quite like it.. I even thought we were given a different flavor since the spinach was nowhere in "taste". The bell peppers overpowered everything.

Red bell peppers here.. green bell peppers there. "Bacon! Mushroom! Where are you??!!"

I could not taste them really. We should have ordered for the tuna instead.
It came with a salsa and guacamole dip by the way.

I was surprised when the chicken was served. It was so chunky and crispy judging by looks of it. I think there were about 6-7 pieces of crispy batter coated wings. It comes with their special BBQ and ranch sauce wherein you need to dip the wings cause that's the reason why it's called "buffalo wings". Without it, it's just plain fried chicken wings with a hint of spice.

We ordered for their Pumpkin Soup(P145) which the waiter said was their best-seller.

The soup was not that thick and creamy. It was peppery...I liked it though. I felt like I ordered pepper soup rather than squash soup. Haha!

And for the main course, their Baby Back Barbecue (P375). It was served with corn on the cob, salad on the side and curried rice. The barbecue tasted like Patatim, sweet and meaty. I noticed that the barbecue sauce was also the same sauce used in their buffalo wings.

Overall, I was happy with our meal. It was quite satisfying especially with their generous servings.
A recommended place for a casual date. smile

Sweet Pea!
Smile 2010-11-26
Last night I decided to try Sweet Pea who recently opened at Piazza, Mckinley. I needed to wait for boyfriend rather than he wait for me for a few minutes. He said to be overslept while he was killing the time in taking off from the office.

Piazza in Mckinley is where luxurious restaurants are located. It’s a good thing to have them around however it is not practical for people like us to dine here often. I have chose to always dine on a budgeted meal but ended up tearing up my pocket.

I was tired and don’t want to wait standing somewhere so I supposed to just have coffee but I ended here at Sweet Pea to try their offerings. I actually needed soup this time because I am having sore throat dilemma. Without delay I sited on the outdoor table and ordered the soup recommended by the staff. I wanted to have the real soup like sinigang etc however they don’t have this kind so I went for what’s available. I saw in the menu dishes that includes corn cob so I asked the waiter if I can order a solo corn cob. Luckily, I can and it was good sliced in two; soft and chunky. I also ordered a sandwich chicken which includes salad and fries siding. The salad was good crisp and fresh vegetables with luscious sauce. The fries were placed on a small glass cup which had the similar fries with KFC but of course better. It was warm and yummy.

All the food had the simple but with beautiful presentation. The food is good but not as great compare to others; nothing was really special on it. Also, I think the food is highly priced it’s not too parallel with the quantity and quality of the dish. The staff is personable and prompt in taking my order and getting our bill.

The place is pretty especially for girls since it’s all colorful with tame different hue. The lit is just enough and the chairs and table is well prepared. They also had this unique tin can where you put your money for the bill.
