Sundays and special days means celebration. In our family, we love to eat, cook and dine out. During occasions pasta and noodles are always present in our table to symbolize long life. Pasta, Pizza and Chicken are the usual food fares for the kids and the kids-at-heart.
There's a Shakey's Pizza Parlor near our home. This branch of Shakey's was built years ago during my kiddie days, good thing is they maintained the cozy ambience and cleanliness inside the restaurant. The parking area is limited but if you have plans to stroll around Araneta center or shop at SM or Alimall you can park at either one of the malls (with fee). You can also choose to dine Al Fresco if you don't mind the P. Tuazon traffic and pollution.
Casual visits to Shakey's for me is more favorable than the other pizza houses maybe it's because Shakey's is already a classic favorite among my generation and the past before me. The aroma of pizza and chicken upon entering the facade brings a mouth-watering experience that will make your stomach go wild.
Several Pizza parlors have budded out but Shakey's thin crust pizza is still a favorite of my family, We love the Hawaiian, Pepperoni, the Manager's Choice and Shakey's Special. A long time favorite too is the Chick n' Mojos. I don't remember a visit without mojos. It's my childhood favorite that I already passed on to my kids. My kids just love the deep- fried-in- the fried chicken's oil- thin sliced potato (sometimes sweet potato) dipped in the chicken's gravy. There's a lot more reasons to love Shakey's aside from the childhood memories I had with this Pizza parlor. The distinctive taste of the it's pizza never fades through time.
There's even a hundred more reasons and cravings to visit Shakey's again.
