   Grilled meat

Sambo Kojin offers a lot of food choices - Korean, Japanese and other Asian cuisines in one restaurant. How great is that! Exactly why our client preferred this buffet when she treats us and we were so delighted with the food choices. As for me, I ate the usual meat and seafoods grilled in our table plus the maki.

   Grilled meats

Whenever there is a group lunch out for a special occasion like visits from high ranking officers of our company, Sambo Kojin is the place to be.Aside from the fact that it is conveniently located near our office, the food choices will not disappoint these important people as well as the ordinary employees like me. Food choices are plenty and all are yummy.

Went here with my family. I reserved a table for 10 people a week earlier. Got a nicely situation table for us.

We stayed until we're all suffering from BBB (Busog Beyond Belief) aka Food Coma. The food variety is spectacular, and the dessert bar is really nice!

I will have to say the Korean dishes are really, really good (as how you should expect them to be for a Korean Resto); the other dishes, however, are just OK.

I suggest you go to this particular branch as it is really home-y and will give you a really good ambiance for having that oh-so-necessary family catch-ups. smile

Smokeless Buffet
Just OK 2013-06-04

Thanks to our Ops Manager's treat, I was able to enter this establishment for the first time and experience grilling food at our own table.

Variety of the food is less compared to Vikings but the meat are fresh nonetheless. The choices are simple hence you won't be too overwhelmed with which ones to choose, giving you more time to enjoy cooking and tasting all the food and trying out the different sauces.

Their selection are also listed appropriately and in case you're wondering if one needed cooking, a staff will be there to assist you.

There's no limit to how many shrimps you get (coz our OM is fond of getting a plateful) and you also don't need to wait that long for a food refill (coz I always get ALL of the bacon-asparagus and come back in a heartbeat for more).

Their cooked food (tempura etc) tastes good as well.

The only thing I didn't like though was their dessert section. Majority of the cakes weren't sweet enough to pass as cakes and their shot glass dessert didn't taste like sweets at all.

Staff:
They will ask if you're SamboVirgins and will orient you with the 4 sauces they have (for meat, fish, combination etc). On our 2nd visit, a staff also educated us about grilling meat, dipping it in a sauce and putting it inside a fresh lettuce, and that was one of the best meals we've had.

Ambience:
Nice decor, lighting and music.

Price:
If you eat a lot (especially shrimps), you'd get your Php600 money's worth.

**First time to eat grill-buffet style so expectations aren't that high. Wait till I try Yakimix >.< **

Back for more Sambo Kojin
Smile 2013-04-10
My friends wanted to meet and eat in Eastwood and so I recommended to eat at Sambo Kojin since they were looking for Japanese and Korean cuisine. I was also curious to see the new food items and price Sambo Kojin has. As I later found out, their weekend rate is now 659 pesos, not bad smile

 clean as always

The place is as orderly and clean like the last time I visited. The cleanliness is a big thing at Sambo Kojin that when our grill look a bit used with our cooking, one of the staff asked us if we would like it to be cleaned. The grill plate was returned to us spick and span. The staff are incredibly polite as well. I was surprised we could ask them to get some items for us from the buffet and they even recommended a few items for grilling. Some of the staff even openly joked with us, it made us feel more comfortable in our seats.

   sushi area

   korean area

   japanese~

   tempura

The food selection is still quite enormous and the food quality is still unimaginably good. Their food is divided into five areas mainly sushi, Japanese cooked dishes, Korean cooked dishes, desserts and raw foods for grilling. I was surprised to see they now have more tempura offerings and the smell of these alone made me drool when I was near them. I'm not sure if the miso soup was new or I did not just notice that the last time I was here but it's a welcome addition if it is new. Aside from these, it looks like they added more noodle and fried meat variations to their line up which is a big plus for me.

   for grilling

 time to grill

I'm not a big fan of grilling but Sambo Kojin has some of the most tasting grill selections I've tasted. While I could have chosen the shrimp or the other expensive looking seafood, I really prefer poultry and pork as my grilling options. The picture above also has some of the recommended picks by the staff I said a while ago.

 extremely happy

All in all, we enjoyed our visit. Sambo Kojin still has its luster for great cleanliness, great service and their quantity and quality of food. My only regret is that I did not have any room left for dessert so maybe I'll do that next time lol

From Movie to Sambo!
Smile 2013-02-26

We just finished our thesis at the end of a long toxic month, so my friends/classmates and I decided that this moment in time calls for a celebration! So we went all the way to Eastwood City walk to watch a movie! Well, that was actually our first agenda, but from all the talking, from all the stress, from all the excitement, we just had to find a place to eat! And we ended up walking for a few minutes and we spotted Sambo Kojin! It was really packed with people and had a connection to Something Fishy - an eat-all-you-can joint which was also, just as packed! It was really fun to eat there, there was so much food! Thanks to Sambo Kojin, we forgot about our plan to watch a movie! Fun night, though!

Dinner Like a Boss
Smile 2013-01-25
Another great place to have a dinner with friends and family, this place rocks. If you like grills and euro-asia dinning with an attitude like a boss? then this is the place to be. You can choose from a lot of variety of dishes, the best part is you could get a chance to grill them yourselves. At a considerate price you can fill in your stomach. The place is a bit crowded but if you have the patience to get stuffed! Then the wait is worth it.

Eat All You Can
Smile 2013-01-16

   Ang aking plato ng pagkain

Dami na palang restaurant ngayon na Eat All You can ang gimik. Nung dumating kasi yung isa kong balikbayang kaibigan, nagyaya siya sa Sambo Kojin, eat all you can din daw.

Group gathering at Sambo Kojin
Just OK 2013-01-07

I am not really a big fan of buffets where you have to cook the selections. Sambo Kojin almost changed my mind because they indeed had some food that were cooked and the ones that weren't were actually good. As a sister restaurant of Dad's, I know they provide good buffets to a long line of people for many years. My stomach was full on this date so it is a good thing I don't go to buffets that often anymore.

Sambo Again!
Smile 2012-10-22
My family and I planning to have a pig-out date somewhere in the metro. So we decided to re-visit Sambo Kojin at Eastwood City Walk, E. Rodriguez, Jr. Avenue (C5), Bagumbayan, Libis, Quezon City. My whole family loved this place where you can enjoy japanese and korean food with your own way of cooking on thier yakiniku grill. We enjoyed the array of fresh raw foods that will inspire you to cook and eat own made dish while its hot. I ate a lot of sushi that time and shrimps as well. I also ate a lot of golden mushroom wrapped with bacon. I also ate a lot of my favorite crab sticks. It was truly a pig-out experience and I always enjoyed family gatherings if we held it in a restaurant like Sambo Kojin. I rate this 10 out of 10 and the food will explain the rate of it.

Another buffet
Smile 2012-09-17
As I have shared with a previous review, I have only started to really appreciate these kinds of buffets lately. It sort of reminded me of that hot pot restaurant from way back, wherein you will have to cook your own food. But nevertheless, everything was on buffet. Meaning you can have as much as you want.

It is fun and interactive for most, but then for non-cooking types like myself, it can be a challenge. But I still got the hang of it, and then I wanted to try everything already. People who have huge appetites should really go to this place, where you can have variety, and eat as much as you want for a good value.

Buffet Overload
Smile 2012-09-12

   Food Choices

We tried Sambo kojin so that we'll know if it's a worthy competitor of other buffet, all you can eat restaurant. The place was wide enough to accommodate a huge number of customers and still have room so it was great. The food selections vary and have a lot of options like Sushis, meat etc. It has a grill on the table much like Yaki Mix so it was also good. Overall, this resto is great!

Buffet all the way!
Smile 2012-09-06
I am a fan of Japanese cuisines. I like their very appetizing recipes. When I had my vacation trip in Japan 5 years ago, my sister brought me to this usual diner in Japan. Yes, that was my first time to dine in a restaurant like that. They call it Yakiniku meaning "grilled meat". You can cook your meal by yourself. It's fun and exciting! Plus the fact that they have varieties of meat that you can cook.

Recently, I craved for Yakiniku. Since, I don't have any idea of where on earth I could find any restaurants like that in Manila. I did my own researched again in Google and find this restaurant that is buffet, meaning a system of serving meals in which food is placed in a public area where the diners generally serve themselves that is according to Wikipedia.

Sambo Kojin is a must visit Restaurant for those who seeks for Japanese cuisines. When honey and I decided to eat there, we only have 3 hours to spend our time in there. Because we arrived there at 7pm when its closing time is 10pm. I even told honey that maybe we can't enjoy our dinner in Sambo Kojin since it's buffet, because some of buffet restaurants are serving good food when it is early. So we didn't expect it to be as fresh as early in the morning.

When we arrived there, it was a huge WOW for me. The ambiance is so-japanesee! I like how it was arranged. It's in the 2nd floor of the building. It is again a WOW for me when we saw the table arrangement. They big tables for families. I've never seen a restaurant that is full of families customers. I mean from their grandmother up to the youngest child of the family, they're enjoying their stay. And that made my curiosity started.

We first served by this very appetizing drinks/shakes. Of course, my ever favorite beverage watermelon shake and for honey is green mango shake which is according to honey it is the best mango shake in town! So refreshing!

I know I was overwhelmed when I first sat on their chair. I don't know where will I start. For your information, it was also honey's first time to try Yakiniku. Since, I had experience in this I taught honey of how we will cook the meat. We first grab our first batch of meats. LOL bacons, strip of pork and beef. I couldn't count how many times we walk in and out in the buffet table.. It was fun and super delicious! The meats are fresh which is we were wrong because we thought it weren't.

We started to cook our meats and we really enjoyed it! We can't even start to eat it because we were enjoying our time in cooking since cooking is my passion! hehe...

After munching and cooking a lot of meat. It's time for our very delectable desserts! Ice cream sprinkled with colorful candies and a marshmallow. They said looks can be deceiving. But this time it wasn't! Because we truly enjoy our desserts, the ice cream is not just an ice cream, it has a very unique taste. I think it's one of the Japanese ice cream!

To top it all, I will go back here over and over again. Since I had my enjoyable stay here. I can't explain how happy I was when I finally learned that there are some restaurants that is really suit my taste. lol

Prices: 400 per head.
very worth the price.
