In preparation for my Aunt who's going back to US, we bought boxes of Ribbonette's tipas hopia. It's her favorite and her trip to the Philippines would not be complete without having them to take home. I used to remember that this hopia is our usual merienda in the afternoon. Despite a lot of bakery are now selling different pastries, my aunt always go back to Ribbonette's hopia.
So far, this is the chewiest chocolate crinkles that I have ever tried. And what's good about this is that Ribbonette's products are very affordable so I won't be shocked if I get hooked on this.
It may be small but it is really chewy and somewhat moist. The sweetness is perfect. The chocolate flavor is a bit bitter but it was fine. Actually, I think this is the kind of crinkles that I like. Soft, chewy, a bit sweet, and a little moist. Too bad their store is far.
Personal Review: This is actually perfect for a very light snack. It is very light on the budget and also in your tummy.
However, the taste doesn't differ from the local cheese cupcakes we buy in the supermarket. But this is smaller in size and softer in texture. This also perfect if you're on the go and that you're really hungry but don't want to spoil your appetite for a hearty meal.
