Additional Information:
101 is the application restaurant of Enderun Colleges, which is home to Southeast Asia's leading undergraduate culinary arts program. 101's seasonal menus are conceived by Enderun's world-renowned culinary faculty to showcase the techniques of traditional French cuisine, the bold flavors of the Asian market and a commitment to innovating with fresh, sustainable local ingredients. The restaurant's stylish interiors evoke the casual elegance of a contemporary Parisian bistro, while the student wait staff, working under the watchful eyes of the College's food and beverage faculty, brings freshness and unique charm to the 101 experience. The restaurant, which offers monthly wine tasting dinners and affordable daily lunch specials, can also accommodate private parties and large-scale banquets, in two salon prives and a magnificent, high-ceilinged 240 square meter atrium. The chic Bar d'Etoiles, adjacent to the restaurant, serves some of Manila's finest cocktails under a stunning canopy of glass and starlight.

the place can be a bit intimidating, but the interns were very gracious and accommodating that it becomes less daunting.

the place can compete with a Michellin restaurant and the food was excellent from the soup to the dessert.

if you're looking for an excellent dining place this is the place to be.

Quick and Light Lunch @ McKinley Hill
Smile 2011-08-15
I decided to revisit Restaurant 101 for lunch after a long spell. It was interesting to note that they are now offering daily lunch deals for a song! Php 300 for 3 courses (Soup or salad, Entree or dessert) and Php 250 for 2 courses (Soup or Salad and an Entree). Quite a steal for an application restaurant serving French food under the supervision of the Alain Ducasse Foundation. But, unfortunately I didn't have enough time for a long lunch. So, I ended-up just settling for a salad from the regular menu.

Hidden Restaurant

It was when my relatives from Hawaii decided to visit us here in the Philippines. While they are here we let them stay in our abode in Marikina. They say that they want to spend their vacation to the fullest – go here and there, spend their budgeted money trying the different restaurants here in Manila.

One day, they say that they want to go to McKinley Hill because they want to try a restaurant there. My aunt said that they got tempted with the foods that they saw in the internet and they want to experience the service that the restaurant is offering. So our whole family together with our relatives went there and started to wander around the different establishments as well as the different restaurants that can be seen inside the McKinley Parkway. We walk and walk until we came to our destination. At first we were blocked by the guard and asked where we will go. My aunt said that we will go to Restaurant 101 for we will have our lunch there. She also said that they already had made reservations in the said restaurant so the guard let us in.

Upon arriving there, I was mesmerized with the ambiance of the restaurant. It was such a classy and elegant one, like having a formal dining session. I bet the foods in this restaurant are of a gourmet style, like what I usually see in culinary shows on television. And true enough, the foods were all presented to us neatly and looks mouth-watering. For me I tried the Braised short ribs in Red wine which is quite expensive (but I wasn’t bothered because my aunt will pay for this..hahahah!). It was presented with parsley and cucumber with ribs covered in generous amount of sauce. Oooohhh, my mouth suddenly starts to water. The ribs were soft and tender with the sauce bursting out all the flavour of the dish. Another dish that is also delicious is their fish and chips with mango mint dip, where the dip is the key to the savoury flavour of the dish.

We all had a very great lunch in this restaurant, I hope my aunt did too because she was the one who paid for all the foods that we ate (she said that it is her treat for us).

Family Bonding

My parents just got home from Palawan for a vacation, and by that they want to have a lunch together with us. They pick Restaurant 101 in Enderun Colleges 1100 Campus Avenue, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, a highly expensive restaurant but I guess they can afford it well, lucky us. For the starter, a Grilled CHICKEN SALAD - davao goat cheese and olive toast, harissa aioli crisp leaves, papaya seed dressing. Perfect for a red wine.

We were just 5 and the 3 of us ordered U.S. BEEF BURGER - gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, tomatoes, pickles cilantro mayonnaise with french fries – I so like it and can’t get enough with it! And for my parents a SEAFOOD TRIPLE DECKER marinated salmon, crab salad, steamed prawns roast bell pepper mousseline, multigrain bread and a Grilled PANINI Turkey pastrami, provolone cheese, demi-dried tomato pesto romaine lettuce, herb foccacia. We enjoy the food not our discussion with my oldies.
SO DELICIOUS! I WANT IT AGAIN!
