Tiring and Tasty Thursday
Smile 2013-09-27
It has been a long and tiring day at work so my housemates and I agreed to grab a bite before heading home.

There are few people eating inside (we later found out that most of the customers opt to have their subs 'to go') so we decided to stop at Quiznos; the place offers soups and subs. We got their classic sub, the honey bacon club (Ps 125 - small, Ps 175 - regular, Ps 225 - large) and the signature subs, chicken carbonara and meatballs in marinara sauce (Ps 135 - small, Ps 185 - regular, Ps 235 - large). There are three bread options for the subs; artisan wheat, italian white and rosemary parmesan.

   Honey Bacon Club

   Meatballs in Marinara Sauce

   Chicken Carbonara

I want the mixture of the bacon and the honey... just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. The chicken carbonara and the meatballs in marinara sauce also gave an enjoyable eating experience, it's like having your saucy dish in a bread instead of the usual pasta but still give the same satisfaction.

And that's Thursday, tired and tasty! smile

Quiznos
Smile 2013-01-31

There are lots of great sandwich places now in fort bonifacio area
and one of those is Quiznos, i really love the sandwiches here
very moist and loaded with lots of fillings. the bun was so fluffy and not
grainy it doesnt break apart easily if you know what i mean. most especially i liked how fresh the
ingredients they used for the filling of their sandwiches. i will definitely eat here more often.

Quiznos Eastwood Lunchbreak
Just OK 2013-01-25
I am sharing to you my first time eating at Quiznos Eastwood. Having to work there in Eastwood City for years already made it difficult for me to choose what food to eat during my lunch breaks. This is evident because whenever there is something new to offer such as a new food joint on the area, we immediately take our chances to try them. But more importantly, it was simply a game of whether or not that place is worth coming back to or not.

So there was this new place called Quiznos located on the side of the newly constructed Techno Plaza Two Building and it offers a healthy sandwiches and rice meals. Looking at their logo, at first I thought Quiznos Eastwood was a pure Italian sub shop. But as soon as I got pass the entrance to look at their menu, I realized their menu was adjusted to the Filipino palate instead (Pork Adobo Sandwich should ring a bell).

As a critic, I couldn't really get out of another sub shop on my mind. Somehow I just wanted to know if this is Quiznos Eastwood better than Subway.

When we got inside Quiznos Eastwood and as soon as it was my turn to order some food, a smiling cashier greeted me. Good start. So I told her I wanted their flatbread sandwich and she says it's out of stock. So much for a good start. She instantly recommended their bestsellers (or in my mind, the most expensive items on the menu) but I hesitated. My budget was supposed to be below a hundred pesos and she gives me an item that's more expensive? It took awhile for me to finally decide on what to order. I wanted to order their subsliders, but the cashier gives me this reaction that the subsliders are just two small, almost pandesal-like sandwiches. What's up with that? I asked myself, did she think that subsliders are not enough for a girl like me? Hahaha. My goodness.

With the pressure that is slowly taking on my part (about two people are standing in line behind me), I went for their Traditional sub (finally!). But it took a few second later for me to tell the cashier I wanted their Classic Italian sub instead. Why? because it was late when I realized their traditional sub had chicken and chicken is the last thing I would want to eat during that time. Ugh, I hate having allergies.

Ordering at Quiznos Eastwood became a venue where I had one of my longest conversations with a cashier. And you know what? After my quick change in order, she was still smiling and actually replayed the whole ordering thing. "So mam, what would you like to have?" I just said my order, what's with the repeat?

Although I just thought maybe she just wasn't able to hear me clearly because of their loud music. I can feel the people standing in line next to me rolling their eyes and maybe telling themselves, "oh please...can you just get on with it?!"

For P125.00, despite the slow start on their counter, it was a few minutes later that I got my order. Finally, time to eat. At first bite, I can taste everything. And when I say everything, it's their bread which stood out. At the same time, confirmed by my officemate who ate there with me, the sandwich poorly arrived at our table with only one slice of tomato. Sad but true. And, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think their lettuce are sliced like that of the sandwiches being offered at McDonalds.

On the brighter side, Quiznos offers bread that is softer even though it's toasted. Plus I love their cheese. And their sauce too, which resembles that of ketchup when you eat hotdogs or burgers, but Quiznos Eastwood offers a sort of a mildly hot barbecue sauce. I actually think their sauce would be great for pork ribs.

After that last bite, I figured that eating at Quiznos Eastwood during that time was actually more expensive for me. Maybe it's because of the generous portion of bread on their subs. Maybe it's because it's new. Or maybe it's because they have this awfully loud in-house music inside and outside, thanks to their improvised dj booth playing loud music just outside the store. Talk about promotion. It's loud and it made me cranky while eating there because it was like I was having dinner in a bar or something.

Although yes, maybe they are still adjusting to the Eastwood crowd. I myself need to understand that they just opened and maybe soon they'll improve their way of service. And as a business, it always has it's flaws. And with that in mind, Quiznos deserve another chance. I just hope the next time I would have better service and additional tomatoes on my sandwich. Or I can just try ordering their rice meals I guess.

Good Alternative
Just OK 2013-01-25
First of all, i would like to say that this is a good alternative to subway.. if your a subway fan.
Their menu are refreshing as compare to its counterpart.

Their Signature Meatball in marinara sauce is fantastic as well as the traditional...

BUT, i would like to criticize on how poorly they wrap their sandwich. As in very poorly wrap. It has to be wrap thrice in order to do it right. And please use some kind of hard wraps when wrapping sandwich for sanitation purposes.

Foreign goodness
Smile 2012-12-03
I first got to try Quiznos at some other country. It was really good and it was so good, it was hard to forget. So when I heard that it was coming to Manila, my tastebuds had to do a happy dance because finally, we're going to get really good food.

When I got to the place, people were really lining up for it. The servers were really nice and were really helpful to those people who have yet to try it. I really recommend this place to everyone... definitely a must-try

Quiznos take out
Smile 2012-10-30
October 26,2012 was declare a Holiday for our fellow muslim. So my daughter and granddaughter went trick or treats to their in-law. Afterward they decided to pass by Bonifacio Global City

My son in law checking the sandwiches for their take out.

the menu board my daughter took for me to post

The interior of Quiznos

My daughter take out of Quiznos sub. I think it was an Angus beef with onion and a lot of melted cheese because while opening the wrapper has difficulty in unwrapping it because they got stuck with the cheese which has harden a bit. There was really a lot of beef slices in this sub.

Personal Rating : smilesmilesmilesmile
Since Quiznos is another new franchise the setting are great except for the price which my daughter advice is a bit pricey than subway.

Quiznos... Now Toasting
Just OK 2012-10-27
Hooray for the special non-working holidays! Today was spent with the family trick or treating around a village in Pasig. It's a good thing that the weather cooperative so the kids were able to enjoy the festivities. We actually had dinner over at my sister-in-law's home and she had Manila Catering deliver the food for the night.

Check out Quiznos Fort Bonifacio Taguig

While the food was filling, we found that we were still hankering for something else so we headed over to Fort Taguig to try out Quiznos. For those who don't know, Quiznos is an American brand and is considered to be the second largest franchise of sub sandwiches (that's according to Wikipedia) in the entire world. I am a very big fan of Subway so I was piqued to try out it's competitor.

 Quiznos Logo

We asked the guys at the assembly line what their best seller was and they mentioned that it was the Double Cheese Chessesteak, Carbonara Chicken, Meatballs in Marinara sauce and the Classic Italian. We decided on the Double Cheese Cheesesteak instead since we are a fan of Army Navy's Starving Sailor.

 Quiznos Menu

Like Subway, you also get to choose your sandwich type and they had three (which I forgot mad) but we settled for Rosemary Parmesan. You also get to choose if you like the small (5 inches), medium (8 inches) or large (11 inches). The sandwich had only a few ingredients like the steak, sautéed onions and cheese (my husband guesses it's provolone cheese). After assembling the sandwich, it went through what looks to be a toasting machine because when the sandwich came out, the cheese melted completely and looks absolutely delicious!

 The selection of protein!

The two 5" sub sandwiches we ordered were a la carte and we opted to have it to go. The total bill for that was Php 396.00 so I was a bit taken aback because it's a tad bit more expensive than Subway, in my opinion.

Anyway, when we went home, we decided to have it microwaved which I think is a BIG mistake because it came out almost as hard as a rock. It was as dry as one too. The first bite was okay and, in fact, I remember telling my husband it tastes a lot like pepperoni pizza! tongue I didn't appreciate the sub as much as I thought I would. On hindsight, we should have probably asked them not to toast the sandwich if we were to have it to go or we should not have microwaved it at all. I like my sandwich to be soft so next time I go back to Quiznos, I know now to tell them not to toast my sub especially when I am having it to go.
