SHOP: A Filipino restaurant that serves delicious grilled foods and a lot more for a reasonable price.

PRODUCT: Grilled Liempo

PRICE: around 180 pesos per order (Good for sharing)

EXPERIENCE: This place is very cozy and relaxing especially if you got a place in one of their nipa huts.

I love the food here especially the baked mussels and grilled liempo. Their rice is unlimited for 25 pesos only. They even throw a free homemade sauce made of chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and special sauce which is good for the liempo and rice.

Where Family and Friends get Together
Smile 2013-09-16
I have been going to this place all the time. Apart from being conveniently near to where I live, the food is good with an affordable price.

We decided to celebrate Father's Day here because we didn't want to be hassled by traffic if we will go to the mall. For sure a lot of people were already there.

We ordered a lot of food even if we were only three. Unfortunately, our favorites (baked mussels and baked oysters) were unavailable that time.

   Grilled Liempo

We ordered another favorite of mine...Grilled Liempo. It has been my constant "meat" dish whenever I go there. They just cook it right and the marinade is flavorful.

 Grilled Tuna

We tried a new dish (first time we ordered it) Grilled Tuna...requested from my dad. Sad to say, we weren't very impressed with it. It was kind of "itchy" in the throat. According to my sister-in-law that knows a lot from seafood, if it's "itchy" it means that the fish wasn't fresh.

Overall, I still enjoyed my dining experience there. My dad was happy and everyone of us were full. If you get the chance to visit here, try ordering their Laing. It's very delectable. Too bad I wasn't able to take a picture of it.

Craving for It
Smile 2013-04-19 (Related Review)
It's been a very busy day for me and I realized that I haven't eaten anything decent the entire day. When I met my friend, I invited her to have dinner where we can eat good food with rice.

Before she can make a suggestion, I told her that I think I want to eat at Qubiertos Grill & Restaurant because they have the most delicious Baked Mussels I have ever eaten.

The Baked Mussels is covered with cheese, not just grated cheese but CHEESE. It also has roasted garlic inside each shell that adds more taste to it.

And to make the experience more pleasurable, for 25 pesos you get to enjoy unlimited serving of rice. Out of 10 pieces of Baked Mussels, I ate 6 pieces of them, a few slices of Grilled Liempo and probably three servings of plain rice. Ah, good bye diet for tonight. lol

My Favorite
Smile 2013-04-10

When I first tried eating here, it was a very pleasant experience because the place was comfy and the food was great.

I was invited again by a friend to have dinner. I didn't hesitate because I recalled how delicious their Baked Tahong were.

I didn't scan the menu already because my mind was set to order their Baked Tahong. It's really flavorful and I love the melted cheese with roasted garlic in every shell.

I think I can finish the entire thing just by myself. They have unlimited rice for 25 pesos so I think that's enough to make me full....unlimited rice and a tray of Baked Tahong. smile

Thank God It's Friday
Smile 2013-04-03
Since Ash Wednesday has already passed therefore Holy Week has officially started for the Catholics. It has been my ritual to eat no meat every Friday until Holy Week ends.

My friend and I went to Qubiertos Grill & Restaurant because they have delectable seafood dishes like their Stuffed Squid.

I seldom eat squid because they tend to be hard to chew. But with Qubiertos, their stuffed squid is anything but hard.

   Stuffed Squid

I also like the melted cheese. I never thought that melted cheese would taste good also with grilled squid. This dish is a must-try if you visit their restaurant. smile

A New Turon
Smile 2012-12-05
I have already tried Turon ala Mode wherein three scoops of ice cream served with two thin sticks of turon with chocolate syrup from Mang Inasal restaurant and I liked it.

   Turon de Manila

Now, Qubiertos has their own version of serving turon. This time their turon is much bigger and thicker than Mang Inasal's plus their ice cream flavor is another Pinoy's Pride called Mantecado which makes this dessert really the Filipino way.

It was good especially the combination of hot and cold playing inside your mouth. It's a perfect dessert after eating a lot of Qubiertos' grilled seafood and more. smile

A different Dessert
Just OK 2012-09-21
It has been a habit of mine that after having a heavy meal (whatever the time of the day is), I always look for dessert. It doesn't have to be coffee and pie or ice cream, as long as it's sweet and delicious.

Qubiertos serves very delicious Filipino food for a very reasonable price. After lunch, I ordered their Suman Crepe because it's something unique and looked delectable.

 Suman Crepe

The "crepe" was made of "suman" and inside of it has chunks of mangoes. On top has chocolate drizzle, a scoop of Vanilla ice cream, and what looked like a cherry but it was "kaong" or "nata de coco".

The dessert was okay. It was not as good as I expected but it was fine.

Feels like on a Vacation
Smile 2012-08-06
A close friend told me that there is a new restaurant along Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City that serves great grilled dishes for an affordable price, and has a comfortable ambiance called Qubiertos Grill & Restaurant.

Yesterday, I decided to have lunch there with that same friend who suggested the place to me before I go to my work. It was very fortunate for us that the weather was kind of tame compared to the previous days that have passed by.

 Qubiertos Grill & Restaurant

The place looked like a resort in Batangas because it was semi-opened and they also have "Kubo Style" for dining outside aside from the main restaurant.

 The Choices

Their food selection looked very sumptuous especially the "inihaw" section and the dessert choices. As for the prices, WOW! they were very, very, friendly to one's budget. You can almost order one of each. One type of appetizer, inihaw, food with soup or sauce, and dessert. One order of rice costs 25 pesos but it's unlimited.

We ordered Inihaw na Liempo as our main dish. The friendly attendant told us that their Inihaw na Liempo is one of their top inihaw dish. Honestly, it doesn't have a different taste if you'll compare it to other Inihaw na Liempo but it is more lean and the sauce that comes with it was very delicious.

The sauce contained chopped onions and tomatoes. A piece of local chili (sili), soy sauce, and ginamos (another type of bagoong that is watery).

   Baked Tahong

Apart from Inihaw na Liempo, we ordered Baked Mussels (my all-time favorite when it comes to seafood) as our Appetizer. I liked the presentation. There were 11 pieces of them placed on top of rock salt served with a vegetable decor. But the most important part of this dish is the cheese. It was literally overloaded with melted, grated, cheese. I love the taste so much even if the garlic flavor was kind of weak.

I can't wait to try their other dishes especially the Lumot (their very own grilled stuffed squid) which was highly recommended by my friend. The place is very nice to dine with family and friends and the people here are very pleasant and so accommodating but I think during night time, it will convert to an "inuman" spot since they also offer videoke packages, and beer promos.

Dinner with the Folks
Smile 2012-07-23

 Qubiertos

A new dining area the specializes in grilling food located in Kalayaan Avenue, Q.C.

   Inihaw Platter

   Grilled Stuffed Squid

Price: P475

Description: Platter with grilled liempo, barbecue chicken, ISOL (Chicken's ass), grilled tilapia, and grilled stuffed squid served in a sizzling plate.

Personal Review: I treated my parents to dinner so my mom won't have to cook for us. We went to this new place called Qubiertos Grill and Restaurant near our place.

It was raining so we decided to sit inside the restaurant instead of trying their "Kubo Style" dining area which I think was a cool idea.

This is the beauty of new restaurants. The staff are always so extra polite and they assist you all the way until you pay your bill.

The place was another residence converted into a restaurant ,which is very popular in our community, that is why the place has a homey ambiance and the prices are quite affordable.

I love everything in the Inihaw Platter especially the Stuffed squid. I am hard to be pleased when it comes to squid because I hate when they over cook it. It tend to be "rubberized", hard to bite and chew. But this, it was so soft and very flavorful. The stuffing tasted like cheese pimiento. I love it.

They also have their own concoction of sauce for the grilled food. They served chopped onions and tomatoes placed in soy sauce with (I think) a little bit of "ginamos" (liquified bagoong) because the sauce was not salty like soy sauce nor sour like vinegar. It was delightful. I even poured some on top of my rice.

I can't wait to go back here and try more of their Inihaw dishes. They also have Baked Oysters that costs less than 200 bucks and very intriguing dessert like Suman Crepe. Until next time.
