The Best Buko Pandan
Smile 2013-10-02

What makes this buco pandan special is the milk. Purely divine creaminess. It uses carabao milk instead of condense milk or evaporated milk that others use. A bit hard to find in Metro Manila, though. You have to go to Timog, QC to get one. Main branch is in Pampanga. But I know that they already opened a store in Alabang and some groceries now have Nathaniel's in their freezers.

Also, you need not worry about buying it melting because it will be given to you super frozen.

Nathaniel siomai
Smile 2013-06-20
I really love the siomai of nathaniels so I ordered the smallest package for take out when I passed by here. It costs about 95 pesos and that is a fair price for the taste of the siomai. It is a good thing it also comes with toyo sauce but in my opinion the sauce is not really needed.

I also ordered their buko pandan juice to go along with it and that is a very refreshing drink.

Food Trip at Nathaniels
Smile 2013-03-07

Nathaniel's at Timog would always close early because of the amount of people that go there. The lines are always long for take out. We came here for dine in orders and we ordered pandan juice, puto, chicken pie, siomai and leche flan. It became a food trip because it has been a long time since we last came here. Whenever we pass by here, they are always closed for some reason.

   Egg Pie

My mom highly talks about Nathaniel's Buko Pandan. When I got the chance to try it, she was definitely right.

However, when she bought Egg pie for the family, it wasn't the same experience I had when I tried there buko pandan. Actually, it was quite the opposite.

It did taste egg but that's about it. It's not even sweet and the crust was kind of thick. The presentation was nice but I sure wish I could say the same for the taste. sad

Siopao Bola-Bola
Just OK 2012-09-24
I was so impressed with Nathaniel's Buko Pandan. I have never tasted anything like this. I know it's a bit pricey but it's very delicious that sometimes I thought it was a buko flavored ice cream. It's so creamy.

 Bola-Bola

Now, I tried one of their short orders. Originally, I ordered their Asado but it wasn't available. I agreed to have bola-bola instead.

The taste was okay. There's nothing really special. But I think this is best paired with mami. smile

A Journey to Nathaniel's Bakeshop.
Just OK 2012-09-02

I have been eager to visit Nathaniel's Bakeshop because of what I've heard about this diner. I've even done my own research just to indulge my curiosity. What caught me off guard is when I saw pictures of celebrities visiting the diner every now and then... I am guilty with the fact of buying products that involving my favorite celebrities. Sadly, I can't post pictures from Google since I don't own the copyright of whoever uploaded the pictures. However, thanks to my photographic memory. In the pictures I saw from Google, celebrities who often visit the diner are Vice Ganda, Jimmy Santos, Jose Manalo and even Ms. Kris Aquino. Which I find it more interesting.

It was luck or a fluke that I had chance to taste their best seller. I was on St. Francis Square when I saw their stall at the 2nd floor of the said mall. At their stall, they sell kakanin, siomai, snacks and salad. What caught my attention is the Buko Pandan salad. It really looks yummy on the picture. And there was this "Ale" who told me that the one I'm looking at is the Nathaniel's best seller. The Buko Pandan salad is in the ice cream container just like the other ice cream products. The price is a bit pricey, P250 for half gallon. So I wonder if it's worth the price. I can't wait to go home to judge it by my own sense of taste. And yes, it was indeed worth the price! I'll let you know how it taste later.

And finally, the journey to Nathaniel's Bakeshop has been happened! Since I have an appointment somewhere in Quezon City yesterday, honey and I decided to drop at Nathaniel's Bakeshop. It was a good idea since we're already there. From Mother Ignacia St., we took a tricycle going to Timog. It only cost us P25.

   King of all Siomai!

   Have a bite!

Since honey and I took our lunch before we came here. We decided to take light orders. We just really want to see the diner in action. Hehe. We ordered 10 pcs. of siomai for P95. Sorry the picture above were only 7, we already ate the 3pcs. LOL It was really delicious with of course their signature chili sauce. I can eat it with rice and make it my "ulam".

I'm not on a diet, so I ordered Barbeque Liempo for P120. It was good with its sweet sauce. I also appreciates its carrot-corn-and-bean-salad, this maybe my first time to see it with Baguio beans, usually it is garnished with green peas. It's a good combination though.

   Creamy and Tasty!

Lastly, the dessert. We never want to skip this chance to again taste their best seller! Nevertheless, we only ordered 1 cup for each of us. Since, we still need to watch our figures. LOL Since, I don't have pictures of Buko pandan that I told you on the above, I thought this is the best way to describe the taste of it, of course with pictures! As you can see, the creamy part of the salad is one of my favorites. It is really creamy and tasty. It's like a spoon of heaven wherein you could escape the world in a minute. I am not over-acting here, but it is what it is. It is delicious as it does in picture. :-P

   Brain Freeze!

If you're going to ask me how was the ambiance, it's not as fancy as some of fancy restaurants out there. Most especially, it is actually a bakeshop where you can buy goodies like cakes, ice cream, puto and some other kakanin. It is typical dine in place for foodies like me. The very unusual thing that you will notice here are customers who walks in and out of the door with their bags of goodies containing gallons of Buko pandan salads and Buko Pandan juices. And that led me again to my curiosity to order my Buko pandan juice(P50/bottle) (which I took out and drink at home.) hehe It is indeed worth my curiosities. It really pays to listen to your guts.

   Landmark

   The ambiance

It was really a pleasant journey. We maybe came from the other side of the city, still our journey is priceless! I would never think twice to visit the Nathaniel's Bakeshop for my next journey to heaven on Earth to relish their other mouthwatering food!

Is it Ice Cream?
Smile 2012-07-31

 Nathaniel's Bakeshop

A Bake shop that is famous for their Buko Pandan dessert that is located in Timog.

   Buco Pandan Cup

Price: P55

Description: ice cream-like with coconut meat and pandan flavored jelly.

Personal Review: The place is similar to a school cafeteria. The furniture are very simple and they have lots of products displayed near the counter for "pasalubong" or take-out. But for a dine-in customer, they will take your order while you are seated.

I ordered their Buko Pandan Cup even if it was slightly expensive because my friend kept telling me that they have the most delicious buko pandan in town.

Well, she was right. It was delicious. It was super milky and it tasted like ice cream. I am not sure if it was ice cream but it does taste like one. But like what I have said, price is steep. I think half gallon (or less) costs almost 300 pesos.

Nathaniel’s Special Buco Pandan Salad
Smile 2011-08-01
Nathaniel’s Special Buco Pandan Salad

Buco Salad is considered a special holiday dessert in our home - my mother prepares it only once a year, as part of our Media Noche feast. But I discovered where to get delicious Buco Salad anytime of the year - at Nathaniel’s in Quezon City!

Nathaniel’s Buco Pandan Salad is decadently creamy, with fresh-tasting coconut and chewy pandan-flavored gelatin. It is so irresistibly good that a half-gallon container like this does not last very long in our freezer. Definitely a must-try!

I love Buko-Pandan Ice cream!
Smile 2010-12-06
The first time I came across this delightful dessert was at a surprise party given to me by my friends. It was a baby shower party and they all bought something to share for dinner. A lot brought cakes and pastries but, my boy best-friend brought an Ice cream. He told me to try it since he is said he was certain that I will like it. Anyway, so after the gift-giving, I let my friends go first the buffet table. Sad to say, when I got to the table, there were no ice-cream left. Everyone was saying that the Buko Pandan Salad ice cream was really good. My best friend seeing my face told me not to worry as he will buy another one for me. That made the pregnant woman felt much better,

A week later, true to his promise my friend visited me with a companion Nathaniel. Nathaniel is the brand name of the Buko-pandan salad ice cream. I was so happy to see Nathaniel! Finally, I opened it and got a bowl of ice cream. Hmm… was it good. I shared it with my mom and sister and they loved it too. The ice cream was really creamy with the right sweetness and the texture of the pandan jelly was perfect! We finished the half gallon that my friend brought. So, I told him that I need to get the address of this restaurant. He did give me the restaurants location. Every month I would pass by Panay Avenue just to buy their ice cream. Although, the store has lots of Filipino delicacies too. Just yesterday, I’ve learned that they move to a bigger location at Timog Avenue corner Panay Avenue.
