Burger Buffet
Smile 2013-10-31

I went to Movie Stars Cafe with friends and I was very pleased with my experience there. We availed their burger and pasta buffet meal. Although they offer ala carte, we decided to enjoy unlimited burgers and pasta. I like the fact that I will be able to create my own burger given I dont usually eat all that's in a typical burger. The patty is very tasty and it's juicy too.

Feeling like a Movie Star
Smile 2013-10-14
We were attended and given seats as immediate as they could when we have arrived but we were not told anything further until I approached. That's when they gave a signal that we could go for the buffet already.

A lot of food were served but not as much as how we expected. When we're done and went back, we were surprised that the table given to us has been occupied by other customers. Can you imagine us, holding out plate full of food without having a table, and not even an attendant approached us. So I decided to move first and look for an attendant. More disappointing is, she just told us to wait as she look for another attendant for us. We waited, but no one arrived so I just had to approach another one until we've settled to another table. It's so disappointing but we don't want to ruin the night so we gave it a chance and moved on from that.

Here are our plates:

The food’s okay, except for the sushis we got. Gerald loved the burger steak while I loved the baguio beans wrapped in bacon. I so love baguio beans, and add up the bacon, it's perfect! The pasta we got is also delicious!

We went for another round, but this time it’s only Gerald who fall in line while I wait on the table thinking we might lose a place again. But Gerald went back disappointed because we were expecting that another set of food will be prepared but the same set of food is still on the buffet. So he just got what we didn’t get on our first round.

As for the drinks, it’s also unlimited but the variants are limited. There’s only pomelo and mango juice and iced tea to choose from, aside from the cocktails and beers. Because we don't want to drink alocoholic that night, we go for juice instead. First, I got myself a mango juice, because it’s my favorite while Gerald got himself an iced tea. For the second round, I tried pomelo juice, which as expected, I didn’t like that much. I got a cocktail so we could at least try but we didn’t like it, though Gerald still drank it. He said the cocktail’s too strong. We’re not really into drinking anyway.

After a while, we grabbed another plate, but this time it’s Tacos.

The first one or two hours were spent for eating and we only started enjoying the night when we went inside to watch the performances. The performers are really entertaining, from the costumes they wear to how they act in character. Of course, we didn’t miss the chance to take a few photos with them.

By the way, there are numerous screens you can see around the cafe, but they didn’t attract me at all. How could you even watch with all those screens flashing different movies? How can you listen to the movies with the sounds of the cafe? I felt like they’re just wasting their electricity with those screens.

There are also huge statues of different characters inside like this one:

We only spent around three hours there but we totally enjoyed it, despite of all the not so good things. Thanks to the cheerful performers that saved our night. And if you would ask me if I’ll be going back here, my answer will be a ‘yes’.

A haven for Movie Lovers
Smile 2013-09-20
We have been looking for a nice resto to bond in the office. Last August, we decided to buy a voucher from Ensogo for Movie Stars Cafe. One of my colleagues who have been there recommended the place. Though quite far from for some of us, we pursue the dinner and hoping to have a good time.

We arrived around 5:30PM, quite early for dinner. We were surprised that while settling down, some of the movie characters are roaming around the place and that we can take pictures with them.

This is me posing with spiderman and black spiderman.

This is the overall look of the restaurant. The restaurant is surrounded with movie posters and statues of batman, shrek, and more.

There are a lot of roaming characters in the restaurant while waiting for the buffet to open. Aside from spiderman, there's freddy kreuger, jason (from freedie vs. jason), bumblebee and megatron of transformers, Tinkerbell and Superwoman, and many more. All the characters interact with their customers making sure that everyone is having a good time.

As the buffet opens, the characters will dance their way to welcome us. This experience for a first timer is amazing. It's a like a flash mob of movie characters. They are dancing all over the place. It is indeed enticing for the customers to have fun for the rest of the evening. There's different performances every 30 minutes, they perform excerpts from movies as they dance.

Aside from their performance, the food was great too! Their 6PM buffet consists of bugers and pasta. Here's what they have for us:

A different kinds of bread, veggies and sauces for the burger.

Delicious burger patties.

Potato Salad

Burgers are best paired with onion rings and potatoes.

Movie Stars Cafe also offers ala carte menu for those who do not want to avail their buffet.

The team was all happy and enjoyed all the shows. We went home bringing good memories and pictures. We will definitely coming back.

Partying with movie stars
Just OK 2013-06-25

There was a buffet at Star Movies Cafe and we got to enjoy it while taking advantage of a slashed price at Metrodeal. There were various movie characters in the restaurant and that was really amazing.

The food was nothing spectacular and it was not really worth the price. I can hear some of my companions complain about that but that's alright because we got full anyway.
