Working Lunch
Smile 2013-05-28
Right smack in the middle of my day long assessment in Jollibee Food Corporation, I decided to grab some lunch in Kimono Ken, Rockwell Business Center. It was quite packed, luckily since I was on my own; they were able to squeeze me in a small table.

   Gyudon

The Gyudon (P220) was a bit tough; but quite delicious. It featured really tasty meat sweetened by onions and juicy mushrooms. The raw yolk was able to lend the meal the needed moisture to make the donburi even more delightful! Of course, it still can't beat Ajisen Ramen's lovely rendition of Gyudon!

Makis Made My Day
Smile 2012-11-25

   California Maki and Futo Maki

   Crunchy Kani Maki

If you are looking for an unconventional snack, then you should definitely try the maki selection at Kimono Ken..that's what I did after days of eating fast food meals...ugh! We ordered California Maki, Futo Maki and Crunchy Kani Maki...oh yes! seeing them made me drool right away because of its freshness and huge portions. They may be a bit pricey, but they are surely worth it because one set of maki would definitely fill you up right away..especially the gigantic Futo Maki. The crunchiness of the tempura batter on the Kani Maki topped with the salad gave that different texture in my mouth that made me want more of it. Those makis definitely made my day smile

Japanese Love
Smile 2012-03-29
I am in love with the Japanese cuisine, so naturally, I would try Kimono Ken. They're quite a hit with how they mix Western influences into their dishes. But for my visit with this particular branch, I decided to go for the normal classic Japanese fares.

I am all for raw and spicy Japanese food so first, I ordered their Sashimi Chirashidon. It's a sampler bowl of their fresh seafood selections, so this included maguro (tuna), shake (salmon), kani (crabstick), tamago (egg omelet), and uni (sea urchin) which were all on top of rice. I loved how this all tasted fresh and I especially liked the uni.

   Sashimi Chirashidon

And of course, I wouldn't leave a Japanese restaurant without tasting their spicy tuna dish.

Overall, it was a fulfilling Japanese fix for me.

Kimono at The Grove!
Smile 2011-08-31

The Grove Rockwell is another good place to ponder my many. Not only for the people who can afford to buy their units but for everyone who also loves food a lot because there are also lots of good restaurants surrounding the place.

The Grove is located just beside the Medical City in Ortigas Avenue, the place is very ideal since it’s quiet and serene. I chose to dined at Kimono Ken out of the many food establishments.

Kimono Ken serves authentic Japanese cuisines. For my lunch I had the Kani Salad (Php 180) a salad made of lettuce and cucumber with Tobiko in Japanese mayonnaise and topped with generous crabsticks. The salad is good however; I was just overwhelmed with the taste of the crabsticks.

For my drinks, I was refreshed by their tall glass of Fresh orange Mango that cost me Php 80. smile

Japan japan! (peace sign)
Smile 2011-07-29
My friends, Joyce, Olivia, Wil and Tonet decided to try some Japanese restaurant We just drop by to our Japanese college friend, Ortigas in which she has been working, and by the influenced of his Japanese aura we went to Kimono Ken. (Peace sign) lol

It is an authentic Japanese cuisine in a feast not only for customer’s taste buds but for all the senses. So we order a Sakana Fry a crisp fried Alaskan cream dory with tartar sauce.
3 orders of Tonkatsu a deep fried fried breaded pork lion in tangkatsu sauce.Ebi tempura
a real tiger prawns in craispy ridges of batter will steal the show. And 2 orders of a Spicy Maguro salad a skwered chicken with leeks in yakitori sauce.

“Whether it’s a power lunch, a pit stop, a family dinner, a casual “barkada night”, or even a first date, Kimono Ken will never disappoint you.” - Kimono Ken
And I agree, indeed its true! They delighted us as well!
