SHOP: A Japanese fast food restaurant located in SM Megamall.

PRODUCT: Japanese Cheesecake

PRICE: Around 50 pesos per slice.

EXPERIENCE: Karate Kid offers different types of Japanese dishes for an affordable price since it is a fast food chain similar to McDonald's and Jollibee.

I tried the Japanese Cheesecake. It was good...I liked it because it's smooth, it's not that sweet, it's soft and it only cost less than 50 pesos. This is a good dessert after eating Chicken Teriyaki or whatever dish/meal you ordered.

Fish Katsu
Smile 2013-09-23
Karate kid is one of my favorite Japanese fastfood because they served delicious yet cheap meals. Despite the price, they were able to maintain the quality of their food and they offer a lot of options for you to choose from.

Fish Katsu, Php 99.00

Fish Katsu is one of my usual meals whenever I feel like eating light meal. The 2pc breaded fish is fried topped with tartar sauce. It was very tasty and not oily plus the meal comes with veggies on the side.

Sizzling Tofu Steak, Php 99.00

Sizzling tofu steak is one our favorite whenever we dine at karate kid.

We were at Megamall last weekend and thought of having a cheap yet delicious meal for lunch. Good thing, we passby karate kid and remembered how happy we were with their meals.

We tofu steak because the sauce is tasty, the tofu taste fresh plus it is good for sharing.

Sashimi
Just OK 2012-10-24

I don't like sashimi. When it comes to raw Japanese food, I am sort of picky that is why when given the chance to eat at Karate Kid, I dodged sashimi. But it seems like I just can't hide from it because my girlfriend ordered it. Turns out, it's not that bad at all. It may be a little raw and the smell of the fish is still there, but it doesn't taste as bad as I expected it to be.

Better Choices
Smile 2012-10-12

I love the unlimited rice offer of Karate kid.
You can choose from 6 different meals, they have
pork chicken beef. and prawns. one meal with unlimited rice
will just cost you 99pesos. that's pretty affordable if you ask me.
i tried already their pork so i go for the teriyaki chicken this time.
unlike other fast food who offers unlimited rice on the meal i find the karete kid
to be better than any other because your choice will not just be limited with chicken alone.

 Takoyaki

Indulging takoyaki from Karate Kid. It has a good food presentation on plate. The four special
takoyaki balls worth 42 pesos. I liked when it has mayo and sweet brown sauce. I usually eat
a simple takoyaki, usually cabbage and carrots vegetables. This takoyaki has something additional inside. It has small amount of grind kind of meat inside. It was delicious
and tasty.

 Fish Katsu

Crispy fish fillet with dressing on top and vegetables. I like the soft fresh cooked fish soaked in the bread crumbs. I honestly don't know what fish they used but I am sure that it was fresh and good in taste. The vegetables tasted insipid but I like the half cooked of touge, carrots and cabbage.

 Toridon

I expect to taste something unique to their fried breaded boneless chicken t but I was disappointed. I don't like it because it was just paired with half fried egg.

   Chicken Teriyaki

Price: P 108.90

Description: Chicken marinated and cooked in teriyaki sauce

Personal Review: Why do Japanese have a lot of “yaki” words on their menu. But by far, chicken teri “yaki” was my most favorite meal with the word yaki at the end. It was definitely not yucky especially the ones served by Karate Kid, it was a definite must try because the sauce was not just sweet, it complements the tenderness of the chicken, making it a perfect dish for Japanese food lovers like me.

Karate Maki Haik!

   8 pcs. California Maki

 Counter Menu

Price: P 88

Description: A sushi roll made of crabsticks, mango and rice

Personal Review: I’ve tried the California Maki of Karate Kid and it was really yummy. For one, I knew that it was made out of fresh ingredients because the mangoes and crabsticks are really visible. When I ate it, I felt satisfied, to say the least. Not only because of the taste but also for its serving

Interesting Cheese cake
Smile 2012-07-03

 Karate Kid

Another Japanese restaurant that is located inside famous shopping centers like SM Megamall.

   Japanese Cheese cake

Price: P49

Description:
Plain cheese cake.

Personal Review: I love cheese cakes so much whatever the flavor be. I love the sour taste that it has and the sweet flavor combined. I haven't heard about Japanese cheese cake yet so I am excited to try especially that it only costs less than 50 bucks.

When the cheese cake was served, it was very, very, small. When I made the first bite, it was good. It melts in your mouth. It has that sour flavor that I want. However, this cheese cake has a hint of sponge cake which not all cheese cakes have. Maybe that is the Japanese way of making cheese cake.

I’ve always been a fan of Japanese dishes but during tight money, I go for Japanese fastfood instead. One of my fave is Karate Kid. I will always go here for their teriyaki meals. Yesterday, I had pork tonkatsu for lunch just for a change. I really enjoy my meal alone.

Karate Kids Teppanyaki x2: -)

Karate Kids Teppanyaki x2: -)

My 3 friends and I were all up for unlimited rice and drinks so we all decided to have Teppanyaki at Karate Kid. We ordered Beef and Chicken. Teppanyaki is always inclusive of unlimited refill kido punch iced tea and refillable rice. It was really a filling dinner. I wish they had more sauce to go with it though. But it was delicious anyway. They have new Christmas packages, too! Thanks, Karate Kid!

Sweet and Spicy Squid
Smile 2011-11-25 (Related Review)

Seafood time! I loved this dish at Karate Kid, last time we had Beef Teppanyaki, but this time my friend suggested I try this sweet n' spicy squid. It was served on a round sizzling plate. The aroma made me want to hurry up on disassembling my chopsticks, but I tried to hasten as discreetly as I could. It was so good , it had the right texture and wasn't rubbery at all. Nice dish, KK!

Karate Kid's Teppanyaki
Smile 2011-11-15

My sister and I went on a date again and decided to binge eat at Karate Kid. It was my first time to discover that Karate Kid had meals good for 2, which was inclusive of unlimited rice and unlimited drinks! They called these meals Teppanyaki Meals - served on a round sizzling plate, meat and veggies included!

They have 3 variants:
Seafood @ P295
Beef @ P275
Chicken @ P275
All of these variants are inclusive of veggies, unlimited rice, and unlimited drinks - to be more specific, unlimited Kido Punch Tea.

We decided to order Beef Teppanyaki. Beef strips in sweet soy. It was extremely delicious, there was a lot of meat and veggies to finish, but we succeeded! We also adored the friendly staff. They were very eager to please every customer. They were very much aware of what we needed - chopsticks, extra rice, more Kido Punch Tea, we didn't have to ask. They even offered us water and they were very polite. I bet the people who apply here are screened well.

Two thumbs up, Karate Kid! :-)

rey's lunch out treat...
Cries 2011-08-03
Libre ... Libre ... Libre!!!

That's what I always say to Rey our Senior Manager and Account Manager at the same time. He usually treats me for lunch or for simple merienda. But today is a different story he treated the whole Xcellink employee hahahah... Dyahe daw kc pag kmi lng ng team ko so he decided to go out with our officemates as well.

we went to Megamall Karate Kid to have our lunch. We choose to eat here since they are offering refillable drinks and rice. We ordered for Tonkatsu, Katsudon, Cheesy katsudon and gyudon.

For my order which is cheesy katsudon, I am not satisfied with the taste, i think they didn't put any sauce in the rice unlike other katsudons that I have tasted before. and there is onle 2 slices of cheese very far on what i expected.

Aside from that, although they offer refillable rice each time we ask for another rice the servers will not respind immediately... "nakakabitin daw s pagkain kc mabagal".

the foods are around 99.00 each orders.

0763 - Therese goes to Karate Kid :)
Cries 2011-07-28
My friend and I already had dinner at an event before we went to SM Megamall but I felt a bit thirsty. I wasn't in the mood for coffee or fruit shake so I tried the strawberry milk tea at Karate Kid.

The staff greeted us with warm smiles and cheerful hellos as we entered. We were also given a good amount of tissue, which is always important even if you're just enjoying a cold beverage. The strawberry milk tea was OK but it wasn't great. It had an artificial black tea and strawberry taste that left a bad aftertaste on my tongue sad the black pearls were not cooked well. They were makunat and chewy.

I think I'll stick to the fruit flavored iced teas from now on sad
