Everyone has to be a member of the Kanin Club
Smile 2013-10-31
With all that's fusion, contemporary, and exquisite lies the complexity in all that is simple
We are a growing breed of adventurers, waiting for the next taste conquest
We are in constant need for diversity; both in the physical and gastronomical aspect of our lives

But sometimes, we just need to take a few steps back. Re-trace our roots. And welcome once again the origins of flavor that thrive in Pinoy dishes -- a visit to Kanin Club is necessary smile

They keep in as uncomplicated as it can be: top choice ingredients / cooked the traditional way / serve it the way Pinoys will eat it (medyo marami at nasa malaking lalagyan)

That day was a merry mix of their chicken curry, Laing, Kare-kare, and of course their signature ever popular Bagoong rice. Needless to say, everything was scrumptious..! The chicken curry had the right blend of flavor and non-powering curry powder taste. The kare-kare was tender and had that nice nutty smell and flavor. Laing had good texture and body (a good marriage of the chilly finger with "gata" and gabi leaves). and the Bagoong rice was just heavenly. Good fried rice composition with an accentuating bagoong taste topped with slices of soft green mangoes - can't go wrong with that!

notable mentions: try the Binagoongan, crispy Dinuguan, crispy tenga

More Kanin Please!
Smile 2013-10-29
We had a rice time, I mean, nice time at Kanin Club. True to it's name, their menu boasts of different rice dishes that may or may not be accompanied with their delicious entrees. My sister in law I both ordered two kinds of rice. I got the Aligue rice, and she ordered the Sinangag na Sinigang tongue She even waited for her friend's text on what the best rice dish was. The aligue rice was amazingly good! I love aligue, I love aligue with rice, so this was a perfect fusion of the two. The rice is sauteed in crab fat and has a orange tinge to it. The smell is also incredible. Really delicious! I wonder if we can make it at home...

The Sinangag na Sinigang, however, has an acquired taste needed. It feels weird to chew on soft rice but have a sour after taste from the sinigang ingredients. It has pork liempo and tempura battered and fried veggies. It tasted weird for me, we ended up finishing the aligue rice and taking home the Sinangag na Sinigang tongue Maybe it would taste better in the morning as breakfast hehehe.

More than just Kanin
Smile 2013-04-27

Most of my friends mistaken kanin club to be
a restaurant that only have rice dishes on their menu.
well before i had the same perception towards it but it changed
when one of my colleague took me for a dinner here
it was then that i had discovered that kanin club also have
other food aside from rice dishes. this one i had was very unique
it has a very crunchy outside texture but very juicy and moist when
you get to taste the filling.

It was an ordinary day when we went to Kanin Club but the place was jam packed and full packed of customers. sad

We had to wait for an hour and a half according to the staff just to be seated.

She gave us the menu already so that we can decide what to order for later. smile

Glad thing the grass area of the Ayala Triangle is so wide, we sat their and started looking at the menu of Kanin Club.

It was not our first time in Kanin Club but we wanted to try their other foods that we have not tried before. smile

We chose Kinilaw na Blue Marlin as our main dish which costs PHP 280.

We also added some soup which was Tom Yum Goong. It nearly cost us PHP 370 but it was worth it.

It had Hot and sour Thai soup, some shrimps, squids and mussels too and it was flavored with fresh-cut lemongrass, limes, mushrooms and chillies. It will definitely wake your senses up. smile

Fresh Green Mango Shake
Smile 2013-03-12

Kanin Club is located at Ayala Triangle, Paseo De Roxas cor. Makati Ave., Makati City, Central Bus. Dist.

I am a big fan of their Green Mango Shake.

They use PIKO MANGO and the taste is superb! smile

The milk in the shake is just right and it is best when the mango shake is a bit melted already.

Their shakes are a bit expensive but it is okay.

When you drink it, you will realize that it is worth your PHP 150. Lol lol

I also suggest you order their Squid in Salt and Pepper , Maning Burles with Roasted Garlic , Bangus sa Miso , Ensaladang Talong and their Camaron Rebosado . smile

Holy Crispy Pata! It has been a long time since i last tasted that dish so we have to thank our boss for giving us a chance to taste it again. We also had sinigang rice and pinakbet as our side dish. I understand now why they are called kanin club because you have to love their rice. Sinigang rice is a must try for anybody who loves to eat a ton of rice. The pinakbet is also good.

It was such a fun night when Ayen and I decided to watch the Ayala Dancing Lights last November 28, 2012. lol

After watching the fantastic Christmas Lights display and the Majestic Orchestra accompanying it, we decided to take a look at the "Tiangge" or Bazaar near the place. lol

After that, we had our sumptuous dinner at Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle.

We waited in line for an hour or so, there were lots of people dining at the place so I guess they serve delicious foods here and that it was worth waiting for.

True enough, their foods were all great.

My personal favorite would be their CRISPY DINUGUAN. lol

It's like Bagnet cooked in blood. lol Yummy!

I also loved their Taba ng Talangka Rice and Sinigang na Tadyang ng Baka. lol

Very tasty and flavorsome. lol

It was worth paying for and worth Waiting for too.

Rice Above The Rest
Smile 2012-08-18
Rice above the Rest

What makes a meal splendid is its simplicity.

Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle Makati makes dining experience seamless.

My girlfriend and I are two of the most adventurous food enthusiast there is – that’s the reason we discover Kanin Club.

Ambiance wise, it offers an ancestral house feel and look, complete with old, heavy wood door, tables and chairs, wooden floors, it even have a Capiz slide window. The feel and the mood is complimented with Filipino folk songs playing on the background - simple yet effective way to turn a place from just a room to a having a homey feel.

Now let’s go the main event – the food! On our first visit to the place, I was the one eager to get my hands (and taste buds) on everything on the menu. Good thing my girlfriend, asked the waiter what there best sellers were. That is where our adventure began!

   Tinapa rice

   Ensaladang talong

   Crispy dinuguan

We ordered Tinapa rice, Crispy Dinuguan, Crispy Liempo Strips (Bacon Thin) and Ensaladang Talong. We had Iced Tea for the drinks.

Tinapa rice is simply my greatest sin – it was so delicious that in a couple of spoonfuls it’s going to change your view on fried rice art itself. The combination of Jasmine fried rice, Tinapa flakes and itlog na maalat is simply heaven. It’s not greasy as expected of a fried rice but it is subtle and what’s weird is that it complements the dishes that we ordered.

Crispy Dinuguan is a masterpiece – the idea of crispy pork cubes and Dinuguan will pique your curiosity needle to the max. Taste wise, it tasted just the same to any Dinuguan in the market, what sets it apart is the notion that it is indeed “crispy”.

Next is the Ensaladang Talong – what I love Kanin Club’s Ensaladang Talong is that you can customize it. Like for example – personally I don’t prefer vinegar on my ensalada (well I know that it will beat the purpose of the dish) and I requested to have it on a separate dish and I request for an alamang as my own Ensaladang Talong condiment and I got it for FREE!!!

My girlfriend is a fan of anything that has to do with Liempo. So we tried, Crispy Liempo Strips (Bacon Thin) – it was incredible! And I mean it! The cut was perfectly thin that when it was served unbelievable it was not greasy, from the time that the dish landed on our table, until we finished our meal, down to the time that we requested all the left over food put in the goodie bag, (please include travel time going home) when we tried it for a bit of midnight snack munching – the Crispy Liempo still stand true to it’s name. IT WAS STILL CRISPY!!!

Now that I’ve described all the food that we’ve experienced, let’s talk about the budget. For all the dishes we had – I could say that we roughly shelled out 900.00 Php more or less.

If you’re going to ask me, with several factors to consider: Ambiance, good food, good service, wonderful dining experience. PRICELESS.

Dining experience all in all was 4/5. I didn’t give it a perfect score because I always go for improvement and more room to grow as an establishment. Kanin Club as it is right now is at par with the best authentic Filipino restaurants there is. Don’t miss it.

We Love Dilis
Smile 2012-07-26

   Dilis Salad!

Price Php 150

Description Crispy dilis on a bed of tomatoes, cilantro and onions.

Personal Review Ah, Kanin Club, you never fail to make me proud of Filipino Cuisine (with a twist). The creators of Kanin Club are sheer geniuses. Not only do they highlight Filipino dishes but serve them with a twist to entice diners. Talbos ng kamote in a salad? To think we have those right in our backyard and we don't even know what we can do with them. Ampalaya in a salad? Who would have thought? But Dilis in a salad? Definite must try! We ordered the Dilis salad as an appetizer. I was really curious as how it tastes like and of course, the plating! It was served on a bed of cilantro, talbos ng kamote, tomatoes and some togue. The dressing was a light vinaigrette.

I picked several pieces of the dilis first. I love dilis! SOme would look down on them but it's actually delicious! The dilis were crispy and tasty even for their small size. I mixed the salad up to help spread the ingredients and the dressing evenly. The crisp talbos and cilantro were a perfect combination with the dilis. I removed the tomatoes from my share. I like the greens better with the dilis. For some, this dish may be an acquired taste but if you love dilis like I do, it's going to be a delicious first bite!

Price: P 239

Description: Assorted vegetable and meat

Personal Review: Nag Lunch kami ng wife ko sa Kanin Club since nagpunta kami sa Makati. It was OK, an all time Filipino dish in pinakbet can never go wrong. Masarap ang pagkakaluto at talagang malinamnam at fresh ang mga gulay na ginamit. Medyo may kamahalan nga lang pero OK naman overall.

   Crispy Pata

 Pork BBQ

   "Tapa ni Ana"

   Kare-Kare

   Pancit Canton

   Crispy Dinuguan

The will of the majority...

Crispy Pata - The softest but still crispy and tasty (Crispy Pata) I've ever tasted

Pork Barbeque - too sweet for me sad

"Tapa ni Ana" - the kids and I liked it; Will take one order home next time...

Kare-Kare - perfecto, except for the bagoong (shrimp paste)

Pancit Canton - nothing special... just the regular pancit tongue

Crispy Dinuguan - the raves are true! I definitely consider this as their flagship dish... Undeniably crispy!

Delicious Pancit, here on Kanin Club! :)
Smile 2012-02-29

Pancit from Kanin Club. Very delicious merienda that matches my standards. I often eat pancit but this one really make me ate a lot. It is delicious even though you will not put Toyomansi on it. The noodles are soft and the toppings are savor. This is a very nice merienda for me.

KANIN CLUB :)
Smile 2012-02-12
Kanin club is definitely one of my favourite restaurants who specialize on “lutong bahay food.” The cuisines might seem simple but it is as enticing as those of the American dishes we usually prefer. Their pancit is really one of a kind. They also have a very delicious dinuguan. The crews are all helpful and are polite. Above all, it was a great dining experience.

Kanin Club: More than Just Great Rice!
Smile 2012-01-16
I just love how Kanin Club creatively delivers the Pinoy Taste with a modern twist. Their dishes are very imaginative and mouth-watering. Visiting this place just never fails to bore me with the spices they use and the fusion of flavors the burst in my mouth whenever I have a bite of their masterpieces.

These are our recommendations:
1.Bagoong Rice (P149)-This is good for sharing! This is truly a must-order if you’re fond of salty rice because the fermented shrimps are just so good!
2.Kalderetang Nueva (P284)-I just love kaldereta especially when its cooked perfectly with the creamy coconut sauce. The beef is perfectly tender and juicy.
3.Loaded Fried Rice (179)- This is an overload of toppings since there’s sausage, ham, crabmeat, pork, eggs, peas and more. Now, this is truly a treat!

So if you’re a rice eater, you’ll definitely love their “All You Kanin” (P60). Now, that’s perfect to complete your Kanin Club dining experience.

Kanin Club (Ayala Triangle Garden, Makati City)

Godbless Kaibigan. -Bam smile
