Oreo Choco Parfait
Smile 2013-11-14

I'm not into eating sweets but when I do, I always prefer that it should be something chocolate. My wife and I had an afternoon snack at Icebergs. Since she insists on sharing an ice cream, we go to the basic Oreo choco parfait. I like sweets that does not complicate the taste. The ice cream is just plain chocolate with cream and cookies on top. Despite sweet, I enjoyed eating their ice cream.

Crispy Fish Fillet Glazed In Adobo Mango Sauce :)
Smile 2013-02-08 (Related Review)
This is a first!<3 I've been craving for Cordon Bleu so much I thought of no other place to go but to Icebergs in along Timog Avenue, but when I got there, the tables turned. I wanted to have rice, but I spotted something else on the menu that looked delicious and I haven't seen this dish prepared anywhere other than at Icebergs.

Crispy Fish Fillet Glazed In Adobo Mango Sauce
It was so delicious! Never thought I'd ever have ripe mangoes with rice before. A pretty unique viand! Maybe I should experiment and try making this at home smile I highly recommend this dish. 'Til my next visit, Icebergs!<3

Craving for Halo-Halo? Iceberg's is the place to be! =)
Iceberg's Super Halo-Halo is to die for!

SUPER HALO-HALO (108PhP)
The original and BEST Halo-Halo in the COUNTRY! smile Iceberg's claims to be the first to serve halo-halo on a bowl with loads of toppings such as kaong, red and green grass jelly, macapuno, bananas, mangoes, ice cream on finely shaved ice. It's definitely refreshing and it'll give you brain freeze and ultimate satisfaction. smile

Thanks, Icebergs!smile

Icebergs after Movie Night
Just OK 2013-01-25

Icebergs, from what I remember, was initially an ice cream parlor that has been operating for years until it evolved into a restaurant/cafe wherein they offer not just desserts but also a number of savory dishes. For all I know, I think there was a branch of Icebergs in Greenhills where I use to go with my family when I was, uhm, younger. Eitherway, I never really recall such memorable moments, so I might as well rekindle the fire with the said place by writing this post.

As far as I know, I was never really a fan of ice cream. Not that I never ate it, but even my close friends know that I never even finish a small cup of it, unless it's made into a shake form that I can just sip away. Or unless it's made with strawberries, avocado or green tea. Aww! Big Scoop days. I have to get back there and blog about it soon.

So there I was, thinking about what to order. Halo-halo? Good. Affordable.
Strawberry Shake? Maybe next time.

Soon enough, I just let my friend do the ordering for us. Oreo Brownies Split. This might be good. It says "An Icebergs Original" beside its name.

So we got that one and before it came, I already told my friend that I'd be eating only a few spoons and he can just eat the rest of the dessert. I thought for a second that he had a great advantage of sharing it with me though.

Oreo Brownies Split, as it says on the menu, has two scoops of cookies n' cream with one scoop of chocolate ice cream drenched with chocolate fudge, oreo cookies, brownies, bananas, chocolate chips, sprinkles, and a cherry. Having said that, this is how it's supposed to look like:

After a few minutes of chatting, which was about 5 to 7 minutes, here is what we got:

Looking at it, it was drenched in whipped cream, had a tad bit of chocolate sprinkles, and I can't find enough chocolate chips and fudge. Where are they? Fudge!

Little did I know that I was being a bit judgemental. The chocolate chips where beneath all the whipped cream (but still they where quite bigger than the ice cream, don't you think?) and hey, all the ingredients are good and sweet and happy. Might as well enjoy it. Before digging in, I thought I can still get that cherry on top but my friend didn't even ask and just put it into his mouth. Okay, hahaha, let's eat!

After a few minutes, it's a clean sweep, along with my 100 pesos, since I shared the bill with my friend.

All in all, I still recommend everyone trying this. I think you can just ask the waiters if you wanted it to look a lot like the one on the menu though. But yeah, it's still all good in Icebergs.

   Banana Split

Me and my friend decided to catch up on each other's lives. We haven't seen each other for a while. We decided to stay at Icebergs for two hours eating lunch and tasting their delicious desserts. Good thing, we made the right decision. Their food is incomparable. No wonder many people eat in this place. You can rely on their banana split to make you smile.

Their service is staff is actually quite helpful. They can guide you through the menu if you do not know what to order. I think the price is quite high. It is best to eat here for special occasions.

Delicious Meals
Smile 2012-01-27

We were craving for Halo-Halo so we went to Icebergs along Timog Ave. QC. Of course, we ordered the halo-halo which was served in a wide mouth ice cream bowl. It looked really filling. The halo-halo they served had macapuno balls, leche flan, gulaman, kaong, nata de coco and beans, topped with ube ice cream and corn flakes. The dish was well worth its price and it was easier to mix all the good stuff together because of the wide mouth container. I can’t wait for next summer as this is the best time to order this.

The Palabok (noodles) was also really good despite the pale colour sauce. The dish was very tasty because of the full flavoured shrimp sauce and was topped with real crushed chicharon. This was also served in a white ceramic skillet type platter complete with handle.

My daughter had not had lunch yet and she ordered the Salisbury Steak Meal; two pieces of beef patties with mushroom gravy and real mushroom slices. The sauce was very good and tasty but not salty.

We will try their other dishes next time we crave for halo-halo.

ICE BERGS!

The halo-halo, the renowned Filipino dessert, is spectacular here.

The numerous variety, good taste, and delightful presentations, sum up their ice cream creations. It is pricey but worth it! I wouldn't recommend you getting your meals here though, the desserts are excellent but the meals are not good, just ordinary and quite expensive considering the quantity.

Tip of the Ice

 Icebergs

After our big lunch at a Japanese restaurant, we went to Icebergs for dessert. We shared the giant bowl of King Kong's Revenge which had 5 scoops of ice cream (chocolate, mocha, vanilla, ube and cookies 'n cream), pineapple slices, almonds, whipped cream. It was both a feast for the eyes, and for the taste buds! The fusion of the different flavors, fruits and nuts was great! We've had our fill of ice cream for the day! lol

Aside from this, they also have a variety of sundaes, parfaits, banana splits, shakes and smoothies. They're also famous for their sisig and other meals which included those with rice, pasta and sandwiches. We also like the barquillos - perfect with ice cream!

The place was okay, could be better but had no complaints when we went there. The service was also fair. We had to follow-up one order twice before it came. And the cold concoctions? enticing, refreshing and delicious! bowl

We tried discovering what are other menu that we could fond of aside from halo-halo in iceberg Timog. I enjoyed their vegetable salad in viagnette and their chicken cordon blue. We also tried their golden lechon kawali (Im a fan) I recommend it. My youngest liked the her sausage and chips.

Brrrrrrr...Icebergs!
Smile 2010-06-30
I've had many great childhood memories with Iceberg's. It was always considered a special occasion if we eat out at this joint and order their frozen treats. smile

Up till now, Iceberg's is still one of our favorite choices especially if we have balikbayan relatives visiting so we can make them eat halo-halo. My personal fave is their Oreo Cookies Sundae, I never tire of this flavor. Always a sure winner for me. My dad prefers the sugarfree banana split because he has diabetes. Isn't it great that right now, you can still eat your favorite sweet treats without the risk of wallowing in huge amounts of sugar content. A lot is being offered sugarfree alreadysmile But my mom prefers the old-school banana split which is a bestseller here.

So many to choose from and they also have a long list of other foods like sandwiches, pasta or full meals. You can have everything here! smile

ICEBERG'S. A childhood favorite.

Food here at Icebergs is great. It may be a bit pricey but surely is worth the money. A favorite of mine, the Strawberry Parfait, just took my breath away.

I’m a big strawberry lover and the rich flavor of the parfait made me really happy. Even with their prices, I’ll love to go back here next time because I know I will always get my money’s worth.

I also recommend other parfaits, their carbonara fettuccine and palabok! tongue
