Let's go to HOP!
Smile 2011-08-21

H.O.P means House of Polvoron. This is the place where me and my buddy used to buy polvorons when our sweet yet dry craving strikes. This store from the looks of it specializes in selling none other than Pilipino-inspired polvoron. HOP polvorons can actually be seen in major supermarkets. So this means you need not to go to a specialty store like this in Megamall as these polvorons they are selling might be available in the nearest supermarket in your location.

In english it is called powdered milk candies
this is one such Filipino pride because of all the natural ingredients it was` made of. Yup there is no artificial flavoring or coloring used in making these sweet delectable aftermeal treat or snack! smile

What then again is Polvoron??? It is one of the scrumptious dessert or after meal snack which can only be found in the Philippines. It is made of toasted flour, powdered or skimmed milk, sugar and melted butter and then pressed into a mold which comes into different sizes and shaped- circle or oblong.
Sometimes additional flavorful solids were combined in the cooking process to make it extra delicious. People can get creative in making polvoron like nowadays we found in other places chocolate-dipped polvorons etc. One is not limited to what is original sometimes a little creation make it more powerful and sweeter than ever.

This is the fashionable side of the kiosk. White color means purity which overpowers the red and black colors of the logo.

At the front side of the kiosk was such a stylish and tastefully designed letter O at the middle. The one who designed this must be hopping in happiness to come up with this design, I really admire it because it is cute and beautiful.

These are the pouches and boxes of polvoron that HOP managed to package them. Pouches are sold for those who love just a few pieces of polvoron or for those curious and fresh buyers.
Boxes are being sold which come in different varieties of polvoron boxes such as
Pinipig Box, Cookies and Cream Box, Cashew Box, Pili Box, Classic Taste Box and Assorted Box.
If I were you I will but the Assorted Box to get a little of everything alreasy in just one perfect buying experience tongue Or if you are the type who just wanted one at a time then so be it smile No worries. No frills.

Yummy Polvoron

Polvoron is one of my favorite desserts. My mom and I usually make lots of Polvoron at our house. I became addicted to it. As I walk and stroll in SM Megamall, I saw House of Polvoron. I said that I would buy it for my mom as a pasalubong. I bought 6 pcs which is only P32.00. It is not expensive and the taste is really good. It also has lots of kinds. I choose the original Polvoron. It is so delicious.

Yummy Polvoron

At first I thought they were Hopia. I wonder if their polvoron taste that good that it has a stall in mall. Their box of polvoron cost Php100 for 18 pieces. They have packed of 6 pieces for Php32. They also sell it individually for Php5.50. It has different flavors like pinipig and pili. I chose Cookies and Cream. It is neatly packaged, great for give aways or gifts. I’m not a fan of polvoron because I find them too sweet. But this polvoron is not. Just the right sweetness mixed with cookies. It is compact, I mean does not breakdown easily when you take a bite.
