Highland steak House another new steak house in town located at the 2 level of SM Mall of Asia

While waiting for our steak they gave us a complimentary bread which is a bit hard and crusty which my grand daughter always love to eat bread. But it goes well with their herb butter.

Wow!! A tall glass of ice cold ice Tea which is just great for this hot sweaty afternoon

A john wayne steak medium rare just the right tenderness I want for my steak accompany by butter vegetable and rice. This one is so huge that it's great for sharing. Since my kids paying don't know how much they cost.

Another Rib experience

   john wayne's prime rib

Price: P880.00

Description: A baby back rib grilled served with mashed potato and side veggies.

Personal Review: My family had a good lunch at Highlands Steakhouse branch in Mall of Asia as part of the celebration of the anniversary of my in laws. The place is so Western look. It has wooden chairs and tables and has nice looking bar. They also have a balcony that has a nice view, you can see the beatiful bay, during sunset you can also see the very awesome view while sun is setting.

We ordered for for John Wayne's Prime Rib, a baby back rib grilled then served with mashed potato and side veddies like carrots and corn. The grilled ribs is very juicy and very tender. This is really delicious and you will know that it was made by a good chef. Even if it doesn't have a rice as partner eating mashed potato is as good as rice already. It still satisfied our hunger.

The price is very expensive, we paid 880 pesos for the serving of this steak. Althoug they have a good place and good service they should consider lowering down their prices since not too many can afford this food.

Tri Treat
Just OK 2010-10-21
Let's say, we gurls see each other only once in a year.tongue And when we do, it always is, grand.smile And whenever, it always is a treat for all of us celebrating our birthdays - ESC on May 27, NBN on May 17, and ELP July 5. Atty. EMDG's is on August 28th. As it is a first for us at the Highlands then, we observed it to be very cozy, having the same ambience if it be in Tagaytay. We had our pictures taken in wacky demeanor. Love the exclusive atmosphere it exudes, and the organized and atypical presentation of the food table. The service staff were very accommodating too. Even providing us with the hats for the picture taking.tongue

Fine Dining at Highlands Steakhouse
Smile 2010-10-11
Spotting the famous Highlands Steakhouse at SM Mall of Asia, my dad and I didn't hesitate to try it out since we really wanted to dine at Tagaytay Highlands Steakhouse but find it a little far.

The interior of the restaurant is really nice and comfy. From the walls, the decors and the wash room, Highlands Steakhouse consistently executes its cowboy theme. Even their servers are wearing cowboy costumes!

Since the menu was overwhelming, we opted to get their sets which includes the entrée, a soup, a salad, dessert of the day and a bottomless drink with a choice of coffee, coke products or iced tea. My dad ordered the Rib-Eye Steak set (P1,700+) in Medium while I ordered for the Roast Lamb Racks (P1,500+) also in Medium. Both of us have chosen to get Caesar Salad for our appetizer and iced tea for our drinks.

We were served with two pieces of fresh breads together with the soup which I believe is their Lobster Bisque, Onion Soup and Clam Chowder. It was a great starter since the soup was rich in flavor without being too overpowering, and the bread was a really nice complement. Next to be served was the Caesar Salad which I really like because of the fresh vegetables and delicious dressing.

Our entrées were served next. Both my dad's Rib-Eye Steak set (P1,700+) and my Roast Lamb Racks (P1,500+) were tender, juicy and rich in flavor. Although they were only 10oz. with 15oz. being the standard, they were satisfying enough to leave us full.

The dessert of the day that was served is the Caramel Cake which has a really soft and creamy base cake and sweet caramel pieces. Personally, I think this was just a so-so meal ender and I can skip this anytime since the previous dishes were already very satisfying.

THE VERDICT

Highlands Steakhouse truly lives up to its image of serving quality steak. Even their soup and appetizers were also great. In addition, the ambiance that their restaurant interior gives off is truly enticing and very comfy which is a big plus.

Service is also top-notch. Every dish were served right after we've finished the previous dish. We didn't even need to call the servers as they already have the initiative. They also check on the guests when billing out to ask for feedback.

Overall, Highlands Steakhouse is a restaurant I would want to go back again and again. Although the price is pretty steep, the great food, service and ambiance you can get from dining here makes every penny worth it.
