Love the Dimsum
Smile 2013-11-14
In Chinese restaurants like Causeway, dim sum is always present in the table. In our family, we will probably order two or three types of dim sum for sharing.

I personally like siomai, shrimp dumplings or shrimp dim sum dipped in soy sauce with calamansi and chili.

I liked their dim sum here because it's flavorful and the filling was cooked well be it pork, beef, or seafood. I like steamed more that fried because fried dim sum or dumplings tend to be too oily that will leave a stain in your mouth. lol

Dimsum Galore
Smile 2012-12-12
I have always liked Chinese food especially their dimsum. At Causeway, we ordered a lot of it and my favorite is Hakao or Steamed Shrimp Dumpling.

   Assorted Dimsum

I liked steamed dimsum over fried. Fried can be really oily unless you let it subside for a few minutes before eating it.

Chicken feet were never my priority but it does taste okay. tongue

What meets the eye?
Smile 2012-09-22
When I first tried Causeway Seafood Restaurant, I thought it was just the typical Chinese restaurant, which puts a lot of MSG on the food to make it tasty. My friends ordered lots of dimsum but there is this one that captured my eye. It was the Tausi Spareribs.

At first, I was so hesitant to try it because it looks half-cooked. I also thought there is vinegar on it because the sauce looked like one. But my friends pushed me to try it and so I did. Oh my! It was really good! Though it is a bit salty but I guess that is the x factor of it. From the on, every time I go back here, Tausi Spareribs is always on my table.

'Cause It's Our Way
Smile 2011-11-02
After hearing Mass, we were too tired to prepare dinner and were already so hungry so we decided to just eat out. We chose to eat at a simple Chinese restaurant near our home, a mere 5-minute drive -- at Causeway Restaurant at Congressional Ave.

 Causeway Seafood Restaurant

The restaurant was full! There was even a birthday celebration near our table. We were seated near the counter, by the service area - a not so good spot. The banging, clanging of plates, glasses, utensils was an earache. That didn't stop us though from eating to our heart's content! Service was okay considering the number of diners they had to attend to.

 Counter

The food we ordered came after just a few minutes. Speaking of food... these were what we had that night: tongue

   Sweet and Sour Pork

Sweet and Sour Pork. - the staple Chinese dish. Haha! The pork was tender, well cooked and flavored. The vegetables were also well done, still crunchy and not soggy, and the sauce: delicious! Just the right mix of sweet and sour. You can even put the sauce on the rice. tongue

   Sliced Beef with Ampalaya

Sliced Beef with Ampalaya. The beef was also tender, sliced thinly and easy to cut. The sauce wasn't too salty or tasted like MSG like from other Chinese restaurants. The mushroom bits were also good, added to the flavorful dish. This was finished in a matter of minutes. Haha! lol

   Steamed Prawn with Garlic

Steamed Prawn with Garlic. This was one dish we've tried for the first time, and glad we have! The big, pink, plump shrimp easily came off the shell! The presentation was nice too. The shrimp was halved, laid in the plate with its shell, topped with sauteed garlic and some green garnish. Each piece was yummy! the garlic wasn't too strong, tasted just right.

   Fried Spareribs

Fried Spareribs. The ribs were fried to crispiness yet soft on the inside. It was too spicy for our taste buds though but was hit for dad who liked spicy food!

   Dumplings

Our Chinese restaurant experience would not be complete without the different dumplings!

The Crab Roe Siomai was packed, filling and tasty! A few bites and you're set for the main course! The Kutchay Dumpling was also good -- the white outside cover was filled with green leafy veggies: healthy and delish! You can never go wrong with Sharkfin Dumplings! This is also a staple order for us. Hehe! smile We can never get tired of it! As well as the Chicken Feet -- ordered 2 of these (proves how much we like 'em. tongue) Munching the meat of the thin bones is just great. Haha!

We were sooo full by the end of our meal! We finished every last bit -- except for the rice -- had no room for it. Hehe! Despite the noise, we still enjoyed our dinner - together as a family. bowl

Causeway
Smile 2011-07-25
Everybody loves Chinese food! We got introduced to Causeway, a chinese resto near Cherry Foodarama a Congressional Ave. I can say that this is one of the best I have tried specially that their dimsums are off priced at 2pm.

I never thought I'm gonna like chicken feet and beancurd was something new to me. I ended up ordering both everytime the dimsum guy would pass by our table. The usual dimsum favorites were also a hit like siomai, shark's fin, buchi and siopao.

For the main course, we ordered Oriental fried chicken which wa crispy and tasty, chopsuey, pancit canton and also beef with brocolli. Yang Chow rice is always a crowd pleaser and never fails to satisfy our big appetite.

The next time I crave for Chinese food again, I'm gonna be at Causeway for sure. smile
