Casa Fillet Mignon
Smile 2013-10-28
Casa Armas serves authentic Spanish dishes. They specialize in Paella and the roast pig that needs 5 hours advance notice. They also serve juicy steaks and I tried their Fillet Mignon that day.

   Fillet Mignon Php 450

Casa Armas serves warm bread while waiting for your order. The restaurant is impeccably clean and the staff are attentive as well as friendly. They know the items on the menu and advises diners if the dish is good for sharing or for one person only. The fillet mignon was cooked medium rare and served with veggies and potato wedges. The steak was thick, good for one hungry carnivore lol While tender and juicy on the inside, this dish is one heavy meal. One can order a side of rice but on it's own, it's just as good.

Craving for Paella
Smile 2012-07-18
Craving for some Paella;

   Warm Bread and Butter

   Tabla Casa Armas Especial

   Paella Valencia

   Menu

Price Php 615 for Tabla Casa Armas Especial and Php 865 for Paella Valencia

Description Tabla Casa Armas Especial - platter with sardines, salami, ham, cheese and asparagus.
Paella Valencia - rice dish with pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables.

Personal Review After heating mass, my father in law wanted to eat some Paella. We went to one restaurant in Home Depot but it was full. Hubby suggested Casa Armas since he heard they serve great Paella. Casa Armas is located in the Podium Mall and it is conveniently right near the driveway of the mall.

We were greeted by the friendly security and mostly male staff. We were seated at the comfortable couch and given menus. The first thing my father in law ordered was the Paella Valencia lol rich Paella with stewed chicken, seafood, vegetables and pork. We also got a platter for an appetizer and some fruit juices for beverages.

We were served a basket of warm bread and butter slices. My daughter mistook the butter for cheese and used her hands to get some lol The bread was good, soft on the inside with crusty sides. Staff gave us two baskets lol The platter arrived and the tray was loaded with salami, parma ham, cheese, sardines, bacon and asparagus, yum! What a way to start a meal. The sardines were a bit spicy but delicious. The salami was also soicy but not so much. The bacon was my favorite, it was thinly sliced but full of flavors, a bit salty and chewy. My daughter loved it too! The asparagus was boiled so it was soft and easy to slice. Also delicious! Too bad there weren't too much of it.

The Paella came and the serving was huge! There were six of us, five adults and one child yet we still had t struggle to finish it all lol The rich tomato based rice was heavy on the stomach. It had loads of seafood, pork and chicken too. The egg slices we gave to my daughter and some rice before we squeezed the lemon lime on the rice. I got several pieces of mussels, clams and a shrimp on my portion. It's funny because my father in law said that the best part of the paella was the crusty and burned rice at the bottom of the metal pan. We scraped some off and tasted it, it was good! Crunchy rice crispies! I mixed it with my cooked rice for an added crunchy experience.

Delicious and heavy lunch, care of Casa Armas!

If you’re looking for a place for a date, I suggest you try Casa Armas. Well, the ambience was really exquisite and the waiters were pleasant and good looking. They offer delectable Spanish cuisines. Their Paella is really a must try! It’s full of toppings and flavors. We really enjoyed it. This place is recommendable for intimate dates, gatherings and really special occasions.

It's another first for me! When a visitor from HK came in Manila last July, i didn't know where to bring her for dinner on her last night of stay. At first i thought of bringing her to a Filipino restaurant somewhere in Ortigas since she was staying in a hotel here. But then some of my officemates suggested to bring her instead to Casa Armas in Podium... and so I did.

I found the place and its ambiance so relaxing and comfortable. I loved the entertainment of a seranade from their in-house musicians. I remember that we even requested for a Chinese song since our visitor is Chinese.smile

Anyways, here are our orders for a group of 10:

   Paella Marinara (Seafood Paella)

Gambas al Ajilo (Sauteed shrimps in olive oil and garlic)

 Pollo al Ajllo (Garlic chicken)

Solomilio ala Pobre (Tenderloin with garlic topping)

 Fillets de Lapu-Lapu

 Flan al Carmelo (Caramel custard)

Pijama (Custard, peaches and ice cream mix)

My favorites were the paella and gambas. However, we asked the waiters to not include shrimps in the seafood paella because one of my officemates is allergic to shrimp. tongue

One thing i don't like in here is that the prices are way too expensive for the quantity of the food they serve. I don't mind to spend quite a lot of my budget for food as long as I'm totally satisfied with the taste and quantity of each food. Nevertheless, it's still an option for me to go back to Casa Armas again maybe for a date with my husband.

I'm not used to eating in fine dining restaurants, especially when I'm with my colleagues to have a dinner meeting, so this is something new for me. When we got there, we have a reserved table. The place is very relaxing, that it'll make you sleepy at times. tongue We began to order even though we're still not complete because the waiter told us that it will take 30 to 45 mins for the food to be served. We decided to order our drinks first.

I always love watermelon, whether it'll be a raw fruit or a shake.

It is a Spanish Restaurant so some food in the menu is familiar. We ordered Paella Valenciana Pasta and I loved it. With mix of pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables. It's Perfect!

   paella valenciana

Here are some more food we ordered.

Forgot the name, But really tastes great! :)

   Gambas Al Ajilo

   Pollo Estofado

The Pollo Estofado or Chicken Stew in English taste like just chicken afritada. smile
I think the steak (forgot the name sorry), is medium so it's tender and juicy when you chew it. I didn't eat the gambas for I am allergic with shrimps. smile

So after we ate all these. We had our dessert.

A Caramel Custard. Is is so soft, it melts on your mouth but I think this is too sweet.

   Flan Al Carmelo

Though I really enjoyed our dinner meeting, The restaurant is too pricey. Maybe I'll go back here when I'm already a millionare.tongue

Dinner Treat at Casa Armas
Smile 2011-07-25
It was Thursday and our big boss I here in the country. So after a long day of meetings, we prepared a dinner for her. We held it at Casa Armas in The Podium. They serve Spanish cuisine. The place is really nice, cozy and classy. They even have a trio playing requested songs in every table. Enough of the place, let’s discuss the scrumptious food we ordered.

The FOOD: As appetizer, they served us bread and butter. The bread was hot and very tasty. We also ordered seafood paella, chicken stew, lapu-lapu fillet, gambas and as dessert, leche flan! smile

My personal favorite from the

my plate, konti muna para sosyal :)

m was the seafood paella; a very filling dish for me. I will definitely be back in this restaurant for special occasions because it’s a bit pricey to dine here.

Lunch at Casa Armas
Smile 2011-07-25
Lunch at Casa Armas

We had a guest in the office from Australia and our managing director decided to do lunch with the management team in Casa Armas, Podium.

I think we had prior reservations as we were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant. We were a big group of about 15+ so it was nice not to be waiting on a busy weekday lunch.

The orders just keeps on coming so let me just write what I remember :-)

Gambas, salpicao, croquettas, paella valenciana, callos, lengua, and canonigo for dessert.

Being in Casa Armas, I can say upfront that I was expecting a good lunch and I was not disappointed.

The gambas and salpicao were really tender and the flavors were really tight. Since I believe they use olive oil in their dishes, I just went ahead dug in.

Croquettas was simply heavy. I think we ordered too much and it was just all for take out afterwards. It was good though. It was filled well with meat unlike other croquettas where all you have is, well, potatoes.

Paella was the best. I just wonder why everyone was running after the crust --- hahaha. I would have if none of them asked for it. So I had to contend with the rice and toppings on top --- not complaining though --- I enjoyed it that I keep coming back for more. Everything on it was wonderfully prepared from the seafoods to the chicken, to the meat.

Callos and lengua were also done just right. The callos tripe were really tender, almost melt in the mouth. The lengua was clean and did not present any foul after taste.

At the end of it all, we had this huge but very fluffy canonigo. Yummy. Not too sweet though which made it all better.

Gosh! I had to walk from Podium back to our office to give myself time to digest all that I ate :-)
