 Carinderia Buffet

 Buffet Table

Another eat all you can place for Filipino food located in V. Luna, Q.C.

 Pork Binagoongan

Price: P149

Description: All you can eat Filipino dishes.

Personal Review: I really thought this place serves Filipino merienda dishes like bibingka, puto, maja blanca, cuchinta, and the like. But I was surprised to see that there were a lot of typical Filipino viands than the "kakanin" that I have mentioned.

There were a lot of fried fish that were served and the only familiar fish that I know was the Tilapia.

The food was okay. Very pinoy. But most of them were salty and oily. Their dessert were typical breads with the same tastes and gelatin with different colors.

CARINDERIA MADNESS
Smile 2011-06-21

I'm sure majority of us have eaten at a carinderia selling all-time Filipino food favorite dishes.
A friend of mine discovered this place in Quezon City. She was born in Kyusi so it is imperative that whenever there is something new in her town she will be among the ones who will initially discover it.

Numerous of invitations by her was made but her friend here frequently said negative due to work schedule. Until one day we arranged the long-overdue plan. I tagged along my gastro buddy and hers too! So it was like a double date in a CARINDERIA.
i heard it being featured on TV too that's making it a little famous already. The four of us-our first time.

Huge crowd was expected by us and there the carinderia story goes...
As of the typical carinderia long tables were set up where Filipino culinary dishes are displayed and out for grabs. The place is unpretentious and very simple with tables and chairs which you may group and ungroup together and no air cons since it is open air
There were Adobo, Laing, Sinigang, Menudo, Mechado, Pancit, Ginataang Langka, Afritada, Dinuguan and so many more. However, Lechon and Kare-kare are absent although these are filipino delightful dishes too!
Present also are desserts like gulaman and maja blanca.

The buffet was sooooooooooooo SULIT!
I'll bring some of my friends too and spread the word.
By the way Php99 per head is not Php99 because of the vat.

Recommended Dish(es):
Laing, Afritada, Maja Blanca

Spending:
Approximately
Php150

Say, do you know the cheapest eat-all-you-can restaurant in Metro Manila today? I do! It’s just right along Anonas Avenue in Quezon City.

Carinderia Buffet was featured in “K Ka Na Ba?” once and my family and I saw it. So one Sunday, after a jog around UP grounds, we decided to give it a try.

For only P99.00, you get to eat as much pinoy dishes as your tummy can hold. Strategically located at the center of the room, countless carinderia food were lined up along tiled counters. They have Prito and Sarciadong Galunggong, Escabeche, Ginisang Monggo, Sinigang na baboy, Dinuguan, Halaya Soup, Ginisang Toge, Lechon Paksiw, Ginisang Pechay and Adobong Kangkong, just to name a few main dishes. However, for dessert, they only give you two options, Gelatin and Minatamis na Saging.

Even when on a diet, I managed to get myself full with no rice and lots of fish and veggies. I love it…and so does all the patrons who come in hordes. The place opens at 11 am on a Sunday (I don’t know about the other six days of the week) and even before the doors open, countless families are already lining up by the door so they’d get to pick the best seats in the house and that is right by the windows. Good thing the place is huge, which can accommodate to at least 80 people at a time.

The place has no aircon but no worries, electric fans on walls and windows after windows all took care of ventilation. On both times that we dropped by, I noticed that the place was amazingly cool even when there was a huge number of patrons. I think it could be because of the high ceiling.

The trip to this resto had been a very fun one. Even after two meals there, I still can’t believe there’s a place where carinderia food is served. The taste of carinderia is definitely there.

I don’t know but based on my taste buds, you may have the same dishes at another restaurant but nothing beats the carinderia taste and feel that Carinderia Buffet brings.
