The Coconut Nut2012-07-02
Filipinos are going natural as far as cold beverages are concern. It is about time to focus on what the Philippines have in abundance. I am referring to what we call our “tree of life”: Coconut.
Pinoys often refer to the common tao as Juan hence the name given to this buko shake stand near the cinemas and Tom’s World gaming arcade. I was surprise to see a small logo of Iglesia ni Cristo on one of the borders of Buko ni Juan signage. Before going in the cinemas to watch Snow White and the Huntsmen we stopped by Buko ni Juan stand.
I ordered a medium sized buko smoothie thinking that it would be sufficient to quench my thirst. I was wrong about this one. I admittedly made the mistake. I should have ordered for the biggest cup available. It tastes like buko ice cream, so yummy, creamy, healthy and delicious.
Buko Shake P 27(16 oz)
Description: Smooth ice shavings mixed with buko( young coconut), sugar and coco milk.
12 oz P20
16 oz P27
22 oz P37
The service crew was all smiles as he looked on waiting for our order.
My personal opinion and taste tells me to give these insert four smileys there is still room for improvement as far as the choices are concern. I was kind of looking for other options like some buko and other fruit mixes to give each customer a wide range of choice. I cannot wait to see what they would come up with next time as far as Buko ni Juan is concern.
