I really have sweet tooth and I always make sure to reserve room for dessert. I enjoyed Buffet 101's dessert options with their wide selections of sweets. I indulge myself with their ice cream and fruits that I can dip on chocolate syrup. Although Buffet 101 has limited branches, it has been known for wide selections of their dishes too. I enjoyed my first time at Buffet 101.

Filipinos love buffet! If you want to have a sure fire birthday treat, treat your family to a buffet. AT Buffet 101, the price is pretty reasonable especially for a big group. The drink and eat all you can is just Php 699 for weekday lunch. We ate at Buffet 101 for my cousin's birthday. They have a decent array of Japanese sushi and sashimi as well as baked oysters. I love seafood and baked oysters are on top of my list lol Seems like a lot of people love baked oysters too because there is a wait for a new batch to be made.

Buffet 101 offers a diverse cuisine with Japanese, Chinese, American and of course Filipino dishes. I did notice though, that people steer clear from the Filipino cuisine since we get to eat that at home lol

chopstick
I brought my family to have lunch at Buffet 101 just before school starts. it was awesome! my son loves the steaks, he went back for seconds and thirds. My nephew couldn't have enough of the yoghurt, his mom, my sister enjoyed the desserts the variety of which by the way could already account for a heavy meal if you try to sample each. her husband just kept going away and coming back with a plateful of yummy goodness.

overall, a nice venue for family bonding with lots of good food.
i enjoyed it so much, i just had to make a comment

Victim by the plating :D

it is a seafood chowder covered with Filo pastries or thin layered pastries on top..
i always saw it on magazine but i have never try to taste it until we dine-in at BUFFET 101..
when i saw that item it really makes me crave for it! and for other term "tulo-laway" haha..
i really wondered what is inside??? how does it taste??? and what is the importance of the pastries on the top of the soup bowl??? at first, i was confused if i will get one because i really dont know how to eat that food.. nakakahiya! puro myayaman kumakain dun and if they saw me eating that soup in a wrong way??? Oh my goodness! so disgusting!
but my curiosity defeated my pride! i give it a try, and to my surprise it was just an ordinary seafood chowder sad
nothing special aside from the plating or the pastries on top that keeps the soup inside hot..
but then, i have no regrets! now all my questions are answered..
lakas lng tlga maka-attract or makatakam ng plating!
and good job s nakaisip!
isa ko s mga nabiktima ng mapanlinlang n itsura! hehe..

I don't get tired of eating here in buffet 101. Their food is just simply elegant and top notched at best. Their ambiance

is like a five star restaurant with decorations such as a glass chandelier, beautiful buffet set up and high class

dinner tables and chairs. My tita treated me once again with some of my cousins at buffet 101 in sm mall of asia. I

just can't get enough of eating here because their foods are just delicious from appetizers to desserts. smile

Their cuisines are simply appetizing. I savor every flavor that all the food that has been served. One of my favorites

is the dessert. The waffle ice cream that I've prepared is just sweet to the core and the marshmallow around it

is just like cherry on top. Buffet 101 is one of my favorite buffet restaurant so far. smile

Naturally, best place to seek sea foods is near the sea,so off to Buffet 101 we go.

The place has ample parking and you can just feel the fresh expectation rising up to what awaits you gastronomically speaking of course. Since I am on a "diet" the natural choice is to pick on the ones that I love eat and those that I am curious to try out.

The funny thing is that my friend has the same choice of food in her plate. I guess we are kindred spirits.

I wish I could spend more time in the literal beach near a real seaside where the air is sweet and salty and not as polluted as the air in Metro Manila.

Buffet nos. 101
Smile 2012-09-15
A lot of buffet restaurant has been booming around these past couple of years. With all the new restaurant that offer

such buffet with class, yakimix seems to be like a thing of the past now. One my friends told me about a new buffet

restaurant called buffet 101. I was pretty stoked hearing about it so I decided to invite rejille in a lunch date on

saturday. Of course the place is packed full of people because it is the weekend. The price of their buffet for that

lunch hour is about 699.00 pesos. The price seems at par with yakimix. smile

This is my plate of gastronomic proportions. This plate consist of pasta, buttered vegetable, sushi and oriental rice. I

really had a blast eating my plate clean on my first try. I did go for seconds and thirds and tried for the fourth. I

finished all the food that I served in my plate with a smile on my face and so is rejille. I would come back to have some

lunch with rejille because buffet 101 is now officially my favorite buffet restaurant. smile

Since it first opened, I have wanted to try this place. Unfortunately, its always been a miss for me since people I was supposed to go to with would back out at the last minute. If it wasn't the last hurrah of Team Oli, I think I would still not have eaten here.

It was a good thing that I knew the manager of the place and so we were able to get the best seats in the house; right next to the buffet place. smile Team Oli and I trooped over on a Saturday night and ate to our hearts content. What I really love about the place though is that it gave you that distinct 5 star hotel feel while allowing you to come in wearing casual clothing.

There was a huge selection of food and I was able to take photos of it. I love the Chinese area the most. I may be biased though since I am half Chinese.

They have over 250 viands for you to choose from, enough to make you go crazy because you can never taste them all in one go. It's just not humanly possible. I stuck to one of the areas that I am most comfortable with and this is the Chinese cuisine area. I also got around to the desserts after I was done and overindulged once more.

Given the chance, I would bring my family to eat here. I'm sure they will love it just as much as I did.

Dial 101 for an excellent Buffet
Smile 2012-08-27
Me and my girlfriend did our usual routine of roaming around the buffet to see the choices before eating. However, that went out the window as we quickly grabbed our plates once we found out that there are a ton of excellent choices. They had a ton of my favorites including chicken terriyaki, seafood risotto and hakaw.

This is the first time I get a buffet that had bottomless fruit shakes so I drank a lot of it especially my favorite which is watermelon shake. This is one of those moments when I wish I had two stomachs instead of one.

The service was very good as there are servers roaming around and checking if they can take away your plate. There are also servers assigned for each station and they will greet customers who pass by.

Buffet 101! One of the most famous 5 star quality buffets on the Seaside Boulevard strip parallel to SM Mall of Asia. It was time for me to visit this place once again! I went with a friend this time, it wasn’t his first time to dine there either, but he wanted to eat there, yet again. We were actually having a “who would finish the most food in 2 hours” contest. It was almost closing time then. Due to traffic, we got there at around 8pm! We weren’t really in a rush, but we were up for racing, after two hours I was super stuffed and very satisfied. I loved all the food! Thanks, Buffet 101!

local hometown buffet...
Smile 2012-04-19
For easter sunday we were supposed to go to Ocean Park and we wanted to have lunch first. We were supposed to go to Viking but we didn't really like the food there so we decided to try buffet 101. We noticed this establishment a few weeks ago when we took some guests out to MOA, but we haven't gotten aroung to eating here yet until now. The interior looks much like Vikings, a classy version of Hometown buffet in the states. The place was packed and we had to wait in line, we were number 16. Hungry as we are, we just decided to wait it out rather than go back to our car in the parking lot across the street under the blazing sun. Fortunately some of the people in line decided they cannot wait and left, and we moved up the top of the list in a flash. After about 10 minutes we were given half a table (there's 10 of us) which can seat 6 people. so we got food for the kids...
The selection of food here is a lot smaller than viking but when I tried it, the quality was better and some of the taste... Their drink selection was good though but the milk tea was baaaddd, it was bland. The carving was a bit salty and the lamb was a bit tough, but all in all it's a good dining experience. We overstayed and over-ate so we did not get to go to Ocean Park!

Trying Buffet 101
Smile 2012-01-07

lol The motto they put outside Get a 5 star eating at Buffet 101. Really if you have seen every part of the dish being offer you will really salivate. And with the rise of many buffet restaurant people started crowding to try them even if they have to wait for hours to have their sit. Since people have to make their money worth if to stay a little longer to try every food from dessert and pastry, chinese, Japanese, Filipino dish, french etc. to name a few.

sadThe price is really a bit high but a litter cheaper than Viking. If you have left over it will really cost you more as the price is P1,350.00 if there is leftover.

lol Look at all this delicious cake, Mostly after 2 hours they have been gobble up and have to be replenish.

This are the food I gotten for myself the tempura, ribs, shrimp and two cakes. Getting old and cannot compete will all other great eater

shocked As you can see in the picture the place is really jam pack of people trying to get a piece of the food. Really noisy and more shouting if the group eating are barkadas just like the one sitting beside me.

My Lobster Seafood Soup w/ pastry really not bad only few seafood or lobster can be seen on the food maybe should have made is as cream of Lobster soup.

Eat-all-you-can at Buffet 101
Just OK 2012-01-06
Everyone is already familiar with Vikings, the luxury eat-all-you-can buffet at San Miguel by the Bay. However, it has been overly crowded and reserving for a table has started to be a problem. And with the continuous rise of the buffet trend in the food industry, another eat-all-you can player enters the buffet arena just at the other end of the bay, aiming to get a share from the Vikings goers. Yes, it's the newly opened Buffet 101 (from the owners of Yakimix) just near Microtel.

Buffet 101 is also branded as a luxury buffet. It has an interior almost at par with 5-star hotel restaurants -- with lavishly decorated space, posh ambiance and elegant decors.

A few days before Christmas eve, my date and I went to the eat-all-you-can restaurant as early as 2:30PM to reserve for a 5:30PM dinner for two. Yes, we're too excited to dine at Buffet 101. Who wouldn't be anyway as this sophisticated luxury buffet has already been creating a buzz on the internet even if it only started serving customers last November 29.

Fast-forward to our Buffet 101 dinner, it was a nice thing we were already waiting for its posh entrance to open even before 5:30PM. We were able to grace the lovely-decorated space before hungry diners started to flock. (Good for me, I got to take tons of shots before plates were half empty!)

Although there were less food stations unlike its rival, Buffet 101 also offers a lot of gustatory delights. There were a variety of meal starters, a fair share of Japanese cuisine, an array of Chinese foods and dim sum, a set of cooked dishes, some cold seafoods, a grilling and carving station and of course, the desserts section.

They had different kinds of breads, cheeses, soup with puff pastry, salads and other hors d'oeuvre. They even had fries and nachos, as well as other international finger food favorites.

   Meal Starters

I also checked their humble Japanese station. It had some sashimi, assorted maki, ebi and kani tempura, cold soba and miso soup.

   Japanese and Chinese Cuisine

Although their Japanese section only had a few items, their Chinese station on the other hand, was pretty interesting. They had different dim sum items, a live suahe station and even Peking duck.

Peking Duck at the Chinese Station

I'm not really fond of cooked dishes in eat-all-you-can buffets, but my date found interest in Buffet 101's cooked foods. I, on the other hand, found myself staring and drooling over their seafood delights. They had shrimps, fishes, crabs, mussels, oysters and other yummy sea creatures.

   Live Seafoods

For barbecue lovers, they have a selection of grilled items -- beef, chicken and pork barbecue, as well as grilled liempo (pork belly). They also have some striploin and ribeye beef, as well as lamb chops by order.

And for the perfect meal enders, they have fresh fruits, pastries, a chocolate fondue and other yummy-looking desserts

   Desserts

Like its rival, Buffet 101 also prides itself by offering unlimited drinks from coffee, tea, fresh fruit juices, smoothies, sodas and even draft beer.

WHAT WE GOT

It's been several weeks since our last buffet adventure, so we let our hearts out and got everything we fancied. Of course, I started my buffet dinner with generous servings of my Japanese favorites -- salmon, tuna and tako sashimi, unagi nigiri, California temaki, some ebi tempura, and a hot bowl of miso soup.

   Sashimi and Maki

My date also went crazy on the Japanese offerings and got each of every maki, along with some sashimi. And while all the sashimi looked and tasted fresh, the makimono on the other hand, tasted ordinary.

Even though I already filled my tummy with tuna and salmon sashimis, I still grabbed a small serving each of the tuna and salmon appetizers. Both appetizers I got didn't only look enticing, but tasted good. The tuna was soft and a little tangy. The salmon with dressing on the other hand, tasted savory and was even nicely complemented by the veggies.

Being a shrimp lover, despite and in spite of hypersensitivity, I got myself a small bowl of freshly steamed suahe from Buffet 101's live suahe tank. The cooked suahe had a beautiful orange-salmon color, and they tasted amazing! They were a little salty and sweet. Even without any sauce, their natural flavors can already stand out on their own.

My date and I both got some Chinese food fare too -- some Asian cold cuts, spareribs, siomai, chicken feet, wrapped Peking duck and other dim sum items.

   Dimsum

Buffet 101's Chinese offerings are quite abundant both in quantity and in taste. They were good for being an eat-all-you-can buffet selection.

Since my date is a big eater of cooked foods in buffets, he didn't miss the cooked dishes in Buffet 101 and got himself a generous plate of various items which he willingly shared with me.

   Cooked Foods

And while I check the smoothies section afterwards to get some watermelon and mango shakes, I didn't know that my date was already doing a major food hoarding that will jeopardize our buffet eating strategy. Yes people, he went around, got everything he liked and dumped them on our table. First, we savored some baked mussels and baked oysters with cheese.

   Oysters and Mussels

While I am a fan of baked seashells with cheese, the cheese pimiento-ish taste of the mussels and oysters threw me off. It was good, but it was tiring on the taste buds. My date also got us a plate of grilled meat, one with barbecue sauce and one with garlic mushroom gravy. Both were quite good, except that I was already becoming too full. We also got to sample the striploin beef, ribeye beef and lambchop. All cooked to medium doneness.

   Beef and Lamb

Everything on this plate tasted great. All three kinds of meat were tender, moist and flavorful even without the sauce. However, parts of the meat were too charred. Although I love grilled items, the charring was just too bitter for me.

We also have more plates of Japanese and Chinese food items that I wasn't able to take photos of. Since the night passed by so quickly, we forced ourselves to just finish everything my date grabbed. So unfortunately, after a few hours of pigging out, we were too full to try out any from the desserts selection. We promise to go back to Buffet 101 really soon though to sample the food items we missed, especially the delicious-looking desserts.

THE VERDICT

Although I love eating at buffets, I understand that offering so much food is equated to a mediocre-tasting selection. However even though everything was quite ordinary, I enjoyed the eat-all-you-can dining experience at Buffet 101 especially because of the freshly-cooked suahe and for the affordability.

The food selection at Buffet 101 is less when compared head to head against Vikings. But if you know you can't eat a lot anyway, and wouldn't mind missing out on frozen yogurts, then Buffet 101 can be a good choice.
