At our office, birthdays are usually celebrated with pancit or noodles, for long life as they say. But it gets kinda tiring to eat pancit again and again especially when we have two or more celebrants in a month, even when the food is free.
So, for our next celebration, we decided to put our foot down and requested for something we rarely eat, the Pancit Habhab or more commonly known as Pancit Lucban. But nope, we did not have to go to Lucban, Quezon just to have this special Quezon dish, we just dialed 899-5991 and viola, Pancit Habhab right at our doorstep, or building steps rather.
Buddy’s Pancit Lucban at Longganisang Lucban, or more commonly known as Buddy’s, is located in Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City. It serves different kinds of pancit like the bihon, sotanghon, miki bihon, chami and lomi. But the star of this eatery is the Pancit Habhab.
The Pancit Habhab can be compared to pancit canton. They almost have the same taste and ingredients, but what makes the Pancit Habhab different is the noodles. This pancit’s noodles are thinner thus more flavor absorption. And instead of using calamansi for your added flavor, Buddy’s has concocted a special vinegar that you can sprinkle as much as you wish on your pancit and that makes a big difference with the taste and overall dining satisfaction.
And lastly, as per personal experience, Pancit Habhab has no “sawa” or “busog” factor. It’s like Pringles, once you pop you can’t stop. So I guess I’d better watch out when we have this kind of birthday blowout, or I’d surely get super fat!
