Right after hearing mass, my friend and I was already starving. We decided to gas up first and look for a decent restaurant nearby to have our dinner.
We noticed that there was a new restaurant built along Kalayaan Avenue beside Jay J's Inasal. It was still early therefore we didn't have a hard time looking for a parking slot.
Big Daddy's Flamed Burgers
We decided to try Big Daddy's Flamed Burgers
. It was actually a win-win situation for the both of us because I love Burgers so much and my friend loves chicken the same amount I love burgers. ;)
It was very quiet in their restaurant. We were the only customers inside. There was a big group outside so basically we were just two groups that night.
There were three different chicken wings available. The types are buttered, barbecue, and Buffalo. All of the flavors comes with your choice of 5 pieces or 10 pieces chicken wings.
The server recommended us to order Buffalo Wings
because it was their bestseller. Actually, my friend and I were debating whether to get barbecue or buffalo wings. We ended up ordering 5pc. Buffalo Wings
(P115) the mild only because we weren't brave enough to order the hot.
Of course we also ordered burgers since the gentleman told us that all of their burgers were made with 100% pure Angus Beef
. I was excited because it would be the first time I would taste Angus Beef Burger. I ordered Junior Burger with cheese and bacon
(P150) and my friend ordered Junior Burger with Cheese
(P125). In addition to our orders, we also had Cuban Corn
(P50) as our side dish. That is how hungry we were.
After 10 minutes of waiting, the same server approached us and told us that the burgers we have ordered were no longer available. What was available that night was their Big Daddy Burger with Cheese
(P180) and The Bomb
(P200). Actually, to be honest, I was having second thoughts in ordering because it was a bit expensive especially that we have already ordered Buffalo Wings but we still ordered their burgers because there were nothing else to order and Buffalo Wings would not be enough for the two of us.
Then after another 10 minutes (a total of 20 minutes of waiting), he came back again and told us that the Cuban Corn is no longer available. I was really starting to get pissed but my friend just convinced me not to lose my patience because we just came from church. So we decided not to order any additional side dish anymore. Honestly, I almost stood up from where I was seated because with the 20-minute wait, two customers arrived and they were served after five minutes of wait. My friend explained to me that their order came from a different restaurant because Big Daddy's was connected with Jay J's Inasal.
I kept my temper until our first order arrived. I was so disappointed with their Buffalo Wings. It was really, really, small. When I tasted it, my disappointment grew deeper. It was so ordinary. Any one can make this type of Buffalo Wings. I can make one of this at home that instant and to think they said it was their bestseller. And to add to my disappointment, we even ask for the waiter for plate and knives. Did he expect us to eat it with our bare hands? Argh!
We finished the entire wings because it wasn't hard to finish them because of the size. Also we were really hungry so we just have to live to what was served.
When our burgers were serve, that was the time I calmed down a little. The smell of it was enticing and the size was big. When I cut my burger into two, I could see that the beef was juicy. They also put a lot of bacon strips in my burger. When I had my first bite, the meat tasted a little bit sweet. I am not sure if that is how Angus Beef really tastes. I would able to know once I try other restaurants who serve Angus Beef also.
The most enjoyable part was putting all three condiments (ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard) to my burger until I finally finished it.
Overall experience, not too good. Although the burger was definitely good but their customer service needs to be improved right away.
