Big Better Burgers

I have been hearing big better burger's since my wife told me their experience with her officemates. She had fun and satisfying experience with their burgers.

We tried their burger being the judge if it was really delicious and I was satisfied but what really struck me is their fries both wedge and the normal cut.Though I know it was prepared the usual way, I find it delicious and tasty and really matches my burger.

Personal Review: I dine in at Big Better Burger SM North EDSA after my shift. I ordered for a BBB quarter pounder. It has tomato, onion, lettuce and mayo dressing. I love the taste of this burger since it is bigger than the usual burgers that we can buy in some fastfood chain and I think that the price is not far beyond the prices of the ordinary burgers, its just P87.00. The place is also good, well ventilated and has some background music while your eating that makes you enjoy your food better.

if there is one food that i've tried the most,,,,,,, that is burger.

Though im not really a big big fan of burger i really enjoy eating this american thinggy.

because of it's availability on the market and the big numbers of food establishment that offer

burgers i can say that my taste bud is impeccable and i can determine which one is good,

better or not.

and I can say that Big better burger have a good tasting one that is not disappointing.

also, a big burger will not cost you too much unlike others. but still you'll get satisfied and

satiated with what they have. the patty is great, smoked fresh thick, meaty juicy and no

extender used.

I was off to try a relatively-new grilled burger resto. First off, I prefer grilled burgers than the usual ones. So trying "Big Better Burgers" was one thing I've been waiting for.

PLACE

The BBB we tried is located at the 1st floor of the SM City North Edsa Annex, just a stone's throw away from SM Savemore. The interior is nice giving you a cozy feel of being slightly at home. The design is so simple and yet so relaxing. I believe the mood lights did the trick plus the brick walls put the touch of sophistication and the homey feeling of the countryside.

The place is a bit small and in my estimates can only accomodate around 25-30 people at a time, including the tables and chairs outside.Honestly, business-wise, the location of the BBB outlet in SM North is not as "strategic" as far as foodies would like it to be. Since the store is situation in a building where more "techies" go to, than food-goers. Anyway, I think, this is a matter of lack of choice anymore, since, the main SM building has run out of places to be rented out for a new player like BBB can effectively and efficiently afford.

FOOD

In general, like what I said, I prefer grilled burgers. The distinct aroma and taste, only via grilling, gives the burger that "whatchamacallit" unique blend.

First off, I tried their potato wedges and fries. Their fries are thick. The kind of fries you would like to get your hands on. Served either with ketchup or cheese dip.
BURGER MEALS

This is a burger resto right? So let's move on to the main menu - the BURGERS.

I was able to try four of their burgers: Mushroom Loco, Bacon Barbecue and Double Dare with Cheese (though there were other burgers on the table, these three were the only ones I tried)

Generally, the burger patty is what are looking for. The patties on the burger I tried were great. It's juicy and meaty, very right for my tastebuds. This is what I like about grilled. The unique scent, texture, feel and taste on my tongue is wonderful. BBB patties has those on what I look for in a burger. Plus, their mix of "experiments" to add flavor to their burger patties is fantastic.

Like for the Bacon BBQ and Mushroom Loco. Both have the different flavors that a customer can choose from. Though, personally, I prefer the Bacon BBQ.

The Double Dare w/ Cheese, of course, who wouldn't notice? This was THE mother of burgers which was served to us during our visit. And for me, it is one of the best grilled burgers I've tried. Anyone can identity that it's premium meat, (not extenders, LOL).PASTAS

BBB also offers pasta meals with grilled meat combination. The one I tried were BBB Meatballs in White Sauce, in Fresh Tomato, and in Pesto Sauce. One is unique from the other. And as for me who loves pasta as well, these three were a delight. I cannot prefer one over the other. Good thing that I was able to try all. The three is worth your money to try.RICE MEALS

Another unique thing about BBB is their rice meals. Their rice meals are affordable, considering the choice of meat, sauce and service they provide. As for the taste, there's no doubt that BBB bring out the best from their cooking. Craving for a different and BETTER kind of burger?Well you definitely need to try Big Better Burgers (also known as BBB) located at the Lower Ground Floor of SM North Edsa Annex Building.The store is just located beside the SM SaveMore so its perfect for the shoppers after doing their grocery shopping. The shop is a bit narrow that it can accomodate up to 30 pax including the outside tables. The ambiance of the inside is also nice to the fact that the people will be curious and will crave for burgers even more because of the photos on their wall.The service was also good. The staff are so patiently generous enough to tell us the name of the dishes. Mr. Chiqui Teotico , the VP-Operation on BBB, joined us to give us a background of BBB and how they come up with their menu. He also mentioned on their business turned to success and how some of their branches went down to business. Kindly see the video below about his talk.Moving on with our food, of course the perfect dish to start of our heavy meals are their Fries(P55) and Wedges(P60). They are well served with ketchup or cheese dip. i prefer the cheese dip though.

As for the burgers, they have several kinds that you can choose from. Below are the burgers that I've tasted so far:3 Cheese Explosion(P173)- this was my order that night but i didn't enjoyed it because there was nothing special about the taste. The burger has mozzarella, cheddar, and quezoloco but i feel that there's only 2 in it..and i didn't quite taste the cheesy flavor, just the meat and the bun lol. Though i like the way they cooked the patty. Perfectly well done and juicy. And their bun looks like pandesal and its a bit toasted because its cooked in grill. I like it though.

Mushroom Loco(P152)- the sliced button mushroom are cooked well and is pretty well combined with the beef patty. it also had cheese on it. So far, the burger is quite okay for the taste. Others loved it.

Bacon Barbecue(P158)- As a fan of bacon, i love to try these kinds of burger that has bacon on it. But to my surprise, i didn't like it. Umaapaw yung sauce ng barbecue that's why i didn't get to enjoyed it.

Aside from burgers, they also have sandwiches like the Fish Fillet Sandwich(P130), which is my favorite among others.In this sandwich, you have an option on which sauce you can choose (teriyaki, tartar, & barbecue). I highly recommend the tartar sauce because it blends out really good with the fillet. As of the fish fillet itself, i like how they cooked it crisp. Reminds me of Fish & Co. actually.As for the pasta, the pesto sauce pasta(P99) is good. not too oily but not too dry as well. The meatball is cooked well and grilled which blends well in the pesto pasta and the wild mushroom.

For the Wild Mushroom pasta(P115), since i love any white based pasta, this is a bit disappointing on my point of view. It's because the taste is so similar to the pesto sauce, too much herb taste that is.They also have Rice meals like the Grilled Chicken in Rum and Herb Butter Sauce(P110). This is my favorite amongst any other rice meal for the fact that the taste of the herb sauce blend well with the beef. i didn't taste the rum on this dish so i don't get it on why they named it with rum lol. So far, my BBB experience was a satisfying one. I get to meet again some new bloggers and open ricers. Once again, Thank you so much to Openrice and to BBB for inviting us in this eat's a date event. BBB is a must try if your into burgers and you want to experience some various taste of it. ^^

It has been quite a while since I let a burger patty touch my throat. Why I had a bad experience years ago with a burger chain. It was my first time to order a burger steak. When I took the first bite on their patty, oh my! I took a tissue and you know what happened next. Yes. I didn’t finish the meal. The patty tasted raw. “So, that’s what burgers taste like!” I then told myself I’ll never eat burgers again.

This week, I found myself standing in front of another burger resto – the Big Better Burgers. You may ask what am I doing here Well, I was asking myself the same question too.No turning back. Here we go. I looked at the menu and found out that there are other meals I can order. Yay!

But my mind and tummy was daring me to take a burger challenge. what!

Okay, I was overpowered by two body parts and placed an order – the Double Dare with Cheese Premium Burger. Price: P186. I chose this thinking that the cheese will somehow overpower the taste of the patty.When my order arrived, I was overwhelmed by its size. It’s twice as huge as your ordinary burger, that’s how big it is. The bun isn’t enough to hold 2 meaty patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato and dill onion mayo.

Double daring, I braced myself as I took the first bite. I closed my eyes and slightly chew on the meaty beef. A little later and the taste came altogether. My buds savoured the smoked to perfection, freshly grilled, 1/3 pound premium beef patties. I took another bite, then another, until there’s nothing left.

When Mr. Chiqui Teotico (BBB VP-Operations) sat beside me, I told him, “Sir, napakain n’yo ako ng burger!”

For real, Big Better Burgers will never let your tastebuds down.

This is what I ordered, well I chose this because I love mushrooms, the moment I saw it on the menu I knew immediately what I want, and mind you I wasn't disappointed. I got what I expected, it is topped with mushrooms together with a soft, juicy and tender patty. For burgers, I recommend this one.I never thought fish would make a great substitute ... for patty ... ... in a burger. They say that fish as a patty is already being served in other burger joints, but I haven't really tried one until I went to Big Better Burger (BBB). BBB's Fish Fillet Sandwich actually exceeded my expectation, the fish as a patty has a rich taste combined with a simple dressing. I'm definitely going to add this at my list of things to order in my next visit, and so should you.White sauce has been my favorite pasta dish as far as I can remember, and I will turn and toss tables around if someone tries to ruin my favorite dish...just kidding...anyway, the point is BBB's white sauce is good. How good is it well it packs a creamy rich sauce with patties placed on top. It's made the way it should it be.Honestly, I don't like red sauced pasta, for me it's a food meant only for kids, but after trying BBB's ... well ... let's just say I may reconsider that thought. What really got me there is the patty on that red sauced pasta, it complements the tomato sauce bringing a unique taste into it, which is actually good.Just recently, I'm getting quite fond of Pesto, And I must say, in all BBB's pasta dishes, this is the best. They really captured its true taste; being herby of some sort. The sauce sticks to each and all strands, unlike other restaurants like ******** and ****** and so on and so forth (LOL), wherein the sauce is loose. For Pesto lovers, I DEFINITELY recommend this one.The patty here is the same as those of the burgers, so if you like their burger, then you'll definitely love this. It comes with an egg and an A1 steak sauce. Well if you like sauce with a strong taste then this is for you, otherwise I suggest that you skip this one. The name says it all, so I won't delve into the contents, instead I'm going straight to what you want to know ... ... this is so FRIGGIN' GOOOODDDD. the "herby" taste, the delicious gravy ... oh the pain of craving ... to eat this once more ... just once more ...
In short; it's a must try.Well if you're a rice person then this one is for you. This is not your ev'ryday ordin'ry chicken, it is juicy, crunchy and comes with mushroom ... well enough about the chicken and the mushroom, that's all you need to know 'bout them, let's move on to the star of this dish; "THE RICE." It has an "herby" taste and the rest is glitters and rainbows. (LOL) You'll have to excuse me if I can't point its exact taste or what makes it sooo good. It's like saying you love someone, but can't find the exact reason why you love them; it's just there, you know you love them, period, no "because," or other jittery, jottery of some sort. Hope I made my point (LOLOL) It's a MUST try.

I will definitely go back to this resto because it’s worth it for your money and I appreciate not just the food but also their service. It was quick and efficient. The staffs were accommodating and polite to their customers. It's also pleasant to see them always smiling when they welcome their customers.

Sir Raymond served us their country fries and potato wedges. Both of them were okay and not too oily however I prefer the potato wedges because the fries were a little bit salty . When I’m looking at the menu their rice meals caught my attention (maybe because I’m already hungry at that time! ) I tried their chicken barbecue rice (crispy chicken fillet topped with spicy barbecue sauce and parsley, java rice with toasted garlic bits). When they served the meal I felt hungrier because it looks so appetizing and it doesn’t disappoint me. The meal was very delicious . The barbecue sauce was very tasty and it’s perfect to match up with the chicken. I also had a chance to taste their sunshine rice in A1 sauce..and it's really the best!! 2 thumbs Up!

It was a long walk from the MRT station going to one of the branches of big better burgers at sm city north edsa , at that time I’m feeling so hungry and expecting to eat a lot! Then finally we arrived at BBB Sir Raymond (branch head) greeted and gave us a seat. When I observed the store it doesn’t have an enough space compared to other resto but I must say that when it comes to cleanliness I will give them thumbs up! They also used warm lights and I think it is appropriate because it makes their store decent and relaxing for the customers.

Before we got the entree, we were serve wedges & fries, they say the burgers are bigger here i didn't expect the fries & wedges are also big here. Nice appetizers to kick off the night..

Then comes the food, Raymond & the other staff of BBB started bringing out our orders. My mouth started watering when they serve first my order.. I love anything with bacon, so i ordered the Southern comfort, later i've learned that this was also Mr. Chiqui's(VP) favorite meal. Glad i chose this meal, its just what i've expected with the taste, sweet BBQ, 1/3 pound of perfectly smoked patty. I love the texture in my mouth, the mixture of the charred taste & the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. I was told that you can change the sauce to a spicy bbq sauce, too late i would have like the spicy version better. But the one i got was not bad at all. I'll give myself a pat in the back for my choice. haha.. P 135.00

Food started pouring out of their kitchen after my order, more mouth watering burgers & pastas.. I've tasted almost all of the meals because most shared their food. I must mention that the consistency of the tenderness & smokiness of their patty is commendable. they also live up to their name, Bigger burger, their meal are definitely mouthful.

The last one that i tasted was a surprise, i didn't mind the sunshine rice in A1 sauce meal because i was too full, luckily my girlfriend tried it. It surprised her and ask me to try it, my reaction was the same, i was surprised when the taste exploded in my mouth. The consistent smoked flavor of the patty was there but the one that caught my attention was the sauce, it was the 'x' factor of the meal. Perfectly blended, there's sweetness of the BBQ, there are seasonings & a certain acidity to it that makes it pleasant in the mouth, "A+" for the A1 sauce!! If i may say it was perfect ending to the great burgers i tasted.

To cap it off, Big Better Burger lives up to their name of serving Bigger & better Burgers. The price range is very competitive to other burger chains. If your looking for Good Burgers i will definitely recommend BBB. I was a perfect ending to a hectic manic monday!

After Checking out the BBB's place and waiting for the other openricers & bloggers to arrive, we were given the menu & chose our food. After, we were fortunate to be at the presence of the VP of Operations for BBB, Mr. Chiqui Teotico. He gave us a brief history on how they started & accommodates questions from the other bloggers. It helped us to appreciate more the food that were about to be served later on. Staff of BBB i believe is efficient considering that the place is packed, they were accommodating to all the needs of our group & also the other customers.

After a manic monday at work, it is nice to have dinner at a relax & "homey" place. Thats what I found when i attended the Eats a Date event of Openrice. When I arrived at the Big Better Burger SM North Branch, the first thing I noticed is the size of the place. Its a bit small compared to other burger place, but ironically, bigger doesn't necessarily means better in terms of the place. BBB's place in SM north is very homey, the selection of finishes made it possible. Bricks for the wall, warm white lighting & ambient sounds made the place cozy for a burger place. Perfect for people like me who doesn't want to go to crowded burger place after a bustling day at work.

Few days ago, my sister invited me for a merienda. She asked what food I wanted to eat. That time I was craving for burger. I wanted to try out a different one because I was so tired eating fastfood burgers. She brought me at Big Better Burger. They've got the juiciest, affordable burgers in Manila with freshest ingredients. The beef patty was juicy and grilled to perfection. Big better burgers can definitely satisfy any craving.

My friend treat me out for snack and we end up having our snack at BBB, Big Better Burgers. So what's the difference of this burger house to others? Well they really have big yummy burgers with double patty that I myself couldn't finish because I am very full eating even a half of it.
