Bahay “Ligaya” 2011-07-28
Really catchy eh? Yeah, even my attention was caught by the name of this restaurant, parang iba ang ibig sabihin para sa akin. Actually, if it was not for the Luma’t-Bago furniture shop, I would not able to notice the name of the said food establishment.
Actually, Bahay Ligaya restaurant was named after the name of the owner’s wife – Joy, only that it was translated to our language. This restaurant offers different Filipino cuisines, with the ambiance of a really cozy Filipino place. The concept of the design was also based on “Luma’t Bago” furniture shop for each table is unique from the other – thus giving the customers idea of what the furniture shop contains. It also has antique furnishings which gives the restaurant a classy old-style ambiance.
For the food, I would recommend their Sizzling Bulalo and Ginataan Bilu-bilo. It is not your typical Bulalo because it is served in a sizzling plate with lots of thick sauce that really complements the beef. The meat is so tender it literally falls off the bone, so yummy! This dish really bursts out the rich flavours of the meat that I found myself so busy munching onto it, and sipping out the goodness of the bone marrow inside is also a must, I just can’t miss any edible in this dish. Their Ginataan Bilu-bilo was made with just the right amount of sweetness. It is so creamy that every spoonful is a heaven in my mouth.
Oh, I forgot to say, this food establishment is not purely restaurant but also a bar. They offer liquors and they too have smoking and non-smoking area for their customers. Plus they offer free usage of Wi-Fi so their customers can enjoy their stay to the fullest. This place is great for groups of people and also the prices are affordable.
