   Nutrition For Hungry Runners

After running a 42k marathon, me and my friends decided to eat in Aristocrat. There isn't anything particular that we want to taste in this restaurant, we just want a quick meal. The service is alright. He asked us for our order in a timely manner. However, serving the food is another thing that they need to work on. It took them twenty to thirty minutes to serve our food. That is too long! We were so hungry that we are on the verge of leaving the restaurant.

Many runners also went here because it is the only restaurant along Baywalk that is open. Overall I would rate the restaurant, 3 over 5. The food tastes great but the time it took to deliver the food is too long.

Chicken like no other

Price: P 155

Description: Quarter Grilled Chicken served with rice

Personal Review: The first time I ate at Aristocrat, I thought it was a very expensive, high class restaurant but I was proven wrong. Although maganda ang ambiance ng store, hindi naman ganun kamahal ang mga pagkain, almost the same price as the other restaurant or fast food. Taste-wise, panalo ang chicken nila, certified rapsa!

Price: P155.00

Description: Big shot meal is composed of fresh lumpia, ice tea, quarter chicken and rice.

Personal Review: My cousin from Hong Kong went back to Manila and she treat us for lunch. She brought us to Aristocrat Restaurant in SM Mall of Asia Business Park in Pasay. There we had our lunch.

The place is cozy and I think the foods are expensive but when I saw the menu it is not too expensive and they have a big shot combo meals with 3 choices. Meal A is composed of Pansit Canton, Pork BBq, rice and ice tea for 120.00;Meal B which is my choice comes with Chicken Quarter, fresh lumpia, rice and ice tea for 155.00; last is Meal C which comes with chicken quarter, pancit canton, rice and ice tea.

I love the combination of the foods because you will have a complete meal with a very affordable price. The foods are served fresh and hot. I like the grilled quarter chicken that is very juicy and a bit sweet. The fresh lumpia is a bit dry that's why I asked for an additional sauce for it.

All in all the dine in experience that we had is good.

Favorite Filipino Comfort Foods at Aristocrat
Smile 2012-01-09

Although I've never been to the lair of the Chicken Barbecue pioneer that is Aristocrat, I have seen its seven-decade-old flagship branch along Roxas Boulevard for countless times already. They have also been putting up branches in the Metro's biggest malls, including SM Mall of Asia where my date and I usually hang out. So when we saw the familiar green and red storefront of Aristocrat, we didn't pass up the chance.

 Aristocrat at SM MoA

It's a shame to admit, but this is the first time we'll be eating at Aristocrat. We have known the restaurant to serve famous Filipino dishes, but we're a little surprised of how its interior looked a little fast food-ish. No thanks to the red foldable plastic chairs that resemble those of the bee's.

Amidst the seemingly fast food of an atmosphere, we were warmly greeted and attended by the crew. I already did my homework so it didn't take us long to make an order. However as quick as the servers were in getting our food choices, serving was another story. It took about 15 minutes before one of our dishes were brought to our table. Good thing though, they've already served our Aristocrat Iced Tea (P65) first to keep us occupied.

   Aristocrat Iced Tea (P65)

Their signature iced tea was good as it didn't fail to keep us calm despite the long waiting time. Its taste was smooth and zesty, and had a hint of honey. My date also exclaimed, "Parang may chocolate" And upon another sip, I also noticed it.

After 15 minutes and a follow up, our orders were finally served. I got a plate of their famous Boneless Chicken Barbecue (P149) which is a grilled marinated chicken fillet served with Java rice, Java sauce and atchara (pickled unripe papaya).

   Boneless Chicken Barbecue (P149)

Although I'm not big on grilled chicken, I loved my order. The chicken was flavorful and moist. Its skin was silky and perfectly grilled unlike others which are often than not, too charred. It was also freshly cooked and not just reheated, so somehow the longer waiting time was justified. As happy as I was with the chicken, the Java rice though didn't deliver the same satisfaction. It was a little bland for a cup of Java rice and was probably left sitting in the cold while the chicken was not yet cooked.

The atchara wasn't interesting enough too. It lacked the standard level of sourness that it should have. Good thing they gave two packs of their Java sauce which pimped the sidings.

   Java Sauce

My date on the other hand, enjoyed his orders. He got a plate of Tokwa't Baboy (P107) which is an appetizer with cuts of cubed pork and fried tofu in a bowl of vinaigrette, and Pancit Palabok (P172) which are thin rice noodles with shrimps and crab fat sauce.

   Tokwa't Baboy (P107)

Fried tofu is never on my favorites list. However, I liked Aristocrat's version of Tokwa't Baboy as it had just the right sourness to it. It also had generous amounts of pork, tofu and pig's ears.

   Pancit Palabok (P172)

I'm also not a big fan of Palabok, but Aristocrat's was tasty and had a generous amount of toppings. My date and I both agree that although it's not the best Pancit Palabok in the market, it is definitely a good noodle dish for a quick snack.

After finishing our entrées, we asked for our choice of desserts to be served. It was nice that this time around we didn't have to wait for long anymore. In only a few minutes, our server already brought the Leche Flan (P45) and Buko Pandan (P67) to our table.

   Leche Flan (P45)

I'm a big fan of Leche Flan and Aristocrat's small serving of my favorite egg custard didn't fail me. It was sweet, soft and silky on the palate. It was good both taste-wise and texture-wise. I wish though that they'd deliver a smoother and hole-less Leche Flan next time as their version is not too photogenic.

   Buko Pandan (P67)

My date on the other hand, is a solid Buko Pandan lover but we have agreed that Aristocrat's version is good albeit small. The young coconut strips were tasty and the pandan flavor was very evident. It was a really refreshing sweet treat anyone will surely enjoy.

THE VERDICT

After sampling some of the Filipino comfort foods at Aristocrat, we now understand how this locally-owned restaurant had withstood the challenges in the growing market. Even with foreign entrants in the food service industry today, it can still stand out as the flavors it offers are simple yet beautiful.

I realized what I've been missing all these years. Even though my mom can whip up good ol' Filipino dishes, Aristocrat's offerings are nice alternatives when I want to enjoy a taste of home-made food away from the comfort of my abode.

Mommy lola's birthday
Just OK 2011-12-27

Aristocrat is my grandparents' favorite restaurant so for my mommy lola's birthday, we headed to this restaurant that has been famous for decades. It never failed the standards set by the founders, I say they always have good food. I ordered lechon kawali. It was not as crispy as I expected and tasted a bit bland to me and the sauce was forgettable. The ensaladang mangga however is the bomb! I always get it everytime I visit. but for next time, I may have to pass on the lechon kawali.

For my grandma's birthday, we had lunch at Aristocrat. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was packed with customers but the place was not crowded nor noisy-- for the reason that the restaurant is really spacious and it can accommodate more families and people pa.They are actually known and is famous for their chicken barbecue. I had that and i really enjoyed it. My mom liked their green mango shake so much. And she told me to say this in my review: "Ang sarap ng green mango shake, hinid msayadong matamis." I like almost everything we ordered! It was a nice meal, indeed! smile

Smile 2011-11-19

From its meaning "the best", Aristocrat definitely serves the best boneless chicken barbecue, marinated chicken fillet grilled to perfection. Served with their signature Java rice, Java sauce, and atchara. With the superb quality of food, the price was also reasonable. I had a great experience eating Aristocrat's boneless chicken bbq smile

Aristocrat is a must-try restaurant in Mall of Asia Complex, J.W. Diokno Boulevard corner EDSA, Bay City, Pasay City. I am a big fan of their South China Chicken which costs from 300.00 to 600.00. For half chicken- 300 pesos and for the whole chicken- 600 pesos. The last time I ate there, I tried their Kare-Kare, Chopsuey, Sinigang na Hipon and they taste perfectly good when combined. I wanted to try their Aristocrat Pancit Canton
but I didn’t get the chance. I will the next time I come back to Aristocrat in Mall of Asia!

The name sounds expensive but If you try Aristocrat, it doesn’t cost you that much. The place was big with an inviting ambiance and they also have a variety of dishes to choose from. This restaurant is more on Filipino food but with a kick because all of their meals are truly enticing. Aristocrat offer good quality and natural home cooked meal. I ordered my favorite – the barbecue, it is their house specialty. They have different types of barbeque namely Aristocrat Chicken BBQ, Pork spareribs BBQ, Pork BBQ and Boneless Chicken BBQ. Foods were great and so was the place. I enjoyed our dinner at Aristocrat.

Aristocrat is a restaurant that offers Filipino dish at a very reasonable price. Come to think of delicious Filipino food, It is most likely going to be among the first places that will appear to mind. A good quality and natural home cooked meal is what they got. My favorite order is of course – the barbecue, it is their house specialty. They have different types of bbq namely Aristocrat Chicken BBQ, Pork spareribs BBQ, Pork BBQ and Boneless Chicken BBQ. I love the tender and appetizing grilled Chicken barbecue marinated in their original barbecue marinade served with Java rice which gives a perfect admiring flavor to the barbecue. Atchara balances the taste of the whole dish.Yummy!

Family Affair
Smile 2011-07-29

Family lunches and dinners are usually spent in a Filipino-themed restaurant as my mom always want to eat at these type of casual dining restos, whereas my sister and I always prefer Italian restos. So for a shopping spree with sis and mom, we had lunch at Aristocrat at MOA. MOA is kinda near our place plus my sister always wants to shop here (for whatever reason she has) so we came in our most comfortable clothes and get ready to shop and eat. We decided to take mom to Aristocrat since she wants to eat a heavy Filipino-cuisine-inspired dish during that day. I find the food good and the place nice. Plus it won't take you forever to wait for your order and finally eat so it's good if you wanna fill in quickly and need to bounce asap for more shopping!

Crispy Pata @ Aristocrat.
Smile 2011-07-28

I went to SM MOA (Mall of Asia) to meet my college friends. We all meet in the front of the ice skating circuit. We just laugh to one another because there is a lot of changes to all of us. We all decided to took our lunch at Aristocrat.

We ordered crispy pata and I ordered personally the boneless chicken barbecue. While waiting for our order we just make chit-chats on what are happening to our lives now. We are shock to some of the revelation of my friends but still we just laugh about it.

When we got our order the scenario becomes "galit - galit" because all of us are hungry. I enjoyed eating their crispy pata because the skin was so crispy (crispy like chicharon). Actually, their chicken barbecue is not that good now unlike before but i enjoyed the java sauce which aI am going to put on my rice because still, It is so good and very flavorful.

I’ve always wanted to try out Aristocrat in Mall of Asia because I heard good things about it! They said that they serve different Filipino dishes. I ordered boneless chicken barbecue and it was delicious, the marinated chicken fillet was so perfect,. What I like most is their green mango shake, it is so refreshing. I also love the atmosphere and also the service, it is also affordable, I recommend this place during special and non special occasion for , family ,friends or business meeting. I will definitely go back and try the other dishes in their menu, like for the group meals that contains crispy pata Crispy Pata, Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet, Hototai Soup, 4 Steamed Rice. lol

Before we witness the pyrolympics me and my team mates decide to have dinner at aristocrat. We order Sinigang na baboy, grilled pusit and chicken honey . The price is very affordable and the food is very delicious . I love the soup of sinigang and the skin of chicken honey is well marinated. Aristocrat has other specialties like hipon sa gata, grilled tuna belly, ginataang tilapia, diningdeng and laing, sandwiches, steaks, soups and desserts too. All of us were enjoying the food and very excited to see the effects of different fireworks of other countries. No wonder why aristocrat is still alive in food industry. smile

Feel like Aristocrat?
Smile 2011-07-26

The Aristocrat Restaurant located at SM Mall of Asia is just a meek restaurant yet offers great Filipino cuisines for its customers. This restaurant is just simple yet when you start to dine here you will love it even more. At first I wonder why, but then I knew the answer. The simple concept of the restaurant gives way to the food which makes it the highlight of the event of your dining experience.

Their specialties are purely Filipino foods such as Kare-kare, Chicken Barbeque, Chicken Honey, Crispy Pata, Pancit Canton, Dinuguan and Lumpia. If you are a type of person who loves Filipino foods, try their specialties. I tried almost all their specialties (ang takaw ko no? Remember I have a huge appetite), and my oh my, they are all so good. I really love their Crispy Pata because it is one of my favourite viands of Filipino cuisine.
