Adobo Republic

I have heard great reviews about Adobo Republic so when FM and I couldn't find a spot to eat at last week, we decided to finally eat at Adobo Republic.

The place was very simple, too simple for my taste. It looked like a fast food chain but with uglier setting. It should have been a sign for me.

While waiting for our food to arrive, we felt the need to use their bathroom. This is what welcomed me.

It actually looks better on the photos I took but it was really disappointing. The place was not well maintained and the only thing lacking about the comfort room was the smell.

Thankfully, the food finally came.

Both were just so-so for me. It was your standard adobo cooked at home. There was nothing spectacular nor mouthwatering about the adobo. It was lukewarm at best and I feel that any newbie can actually cook the same thing, probably with more success. The meat wasn't tender and the sauce very ordinary. I felt like it was a waste of money.

We are definitely never coming back to this place.

Pay Day once again
Just OK 2011-10-26
We really waited for a long time for our pay day, so we decided to celebrate it for having a lunch out with our office mates. We decided to dine in at Adobo Republic. But since it is lunch time there are a lot of people eating. We have no place to sit in. so we waited for a couple of minutes. When we saw that there's a group who are about to finish their food we decided to order.

But after a long wait someone who just came in sat on the table that we are eyeing, So once again we don't have a place. But we pursue in ordering thinking that we still need to wait before the food will be serve. I ordered for adobo sa gata, it is my first time to try this.

After about 15 minutes of waiting there we found a seat. We are thinking that the food will be served in just a few minutes but we are wrong, they lack in manpower that's why there is really a poor service we waited for more than 20 minutes for the food to be served. They don't even serve the drinks first while we are waiting for the food, we still need to asked them to serve our drinks.

When the food was served, we have observed that there is a very small serving. And it is quite disappointing. I can say that the taste is just an average.

Quick Lunch!
Cries 2010-06-07
Since we are so bored eating along Emerald Avenue. We have decided to go to Pearl Drive to experience a different restaurant. Since we can't actually decide on where to eat... We ended up eating at Adobo Republic.

Allow me to highlight the good points first:

1. For smokers like me, it's a good thing that they have enclosed smoking area. You can smoke inside the restaurant without going down to the building lobby. Less hassle. They also have magazines you can read while waiting for your order. lol

2. They are the cheapest within the area. That's the only restaurant that you can eat. Food ranges from Php 45 - Php 115 without drinks. Drinks ranges from Php 20 - 35. tongue

3. Part of the restaurant's promo, unlimited rice. lol

4. My colleague ordered a fried chicken meal, the serving of the chicken is quite big. It's pretty good for 1 person.

5. Food was served quickly.

Now, here are the things that needs a little improvement:

1. Space is so small. You can actually hear the conversations in the other tables.

2. I ordered Adobo Mix (Chicken & Pork Adobo) that cost Php 115. served with fresh tomato and salted egg. It was not worth it! Food presentation actually sucks. It was just like eating at a canteen. Servings are small. sad

3. The pork barbicue meal is priced at 45k and the barbicue has a small serving as well, it is the same thing as buying barbicue in the streets. sad

4. Waiters are not that accomodating in their customer needs.

I will not go back there anymore unless I am really hungry and I don't have any place to eat!
